- The rebuilt 300 and the ZF 5 transmission are in the truck. Started up the rebuilt engine for the first time but I lost the video of the start-up. If all goes well the next video will be a project wrap-up and a test drive.
Coming together nicely! Great work Pete !
Thanks Scott!
Getting so close to being done! Lots of good info here 👍
Thank you Chris!
Always great to see your videos come up. Great build.
Thanks!
Thanks for the update Pete, all I can say is great job glad she’s running for you , looks like you you will have her out on the road soon 👍
Won't be long! Thanks!
That’s some fine work going into that truck…👍
Thank you.
Thats some fine work! Really enjoying this. Wish I had your knowledge of these old Fords!!
Thanks! After having it for 27 years I know it pretty well 🙂
Man yeah Mr Pete!! You sure have some amazing skills my friend!! Loved the shifter tower!! Do t worry about the go pro, mine does that all the time. I have to pull the battery out I would.say 3 out of 5 times to get it to turn on. Looking fwd.to the test drive!!! I understand on the days gone by, I had to buy a transmission jack as well building the service truck!! Thank you sir for bringing us along, look fwd to seeing it in the road soon!! 😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍🛻🛻
Thanks Nelson! I'm still fighting with the Go Pro 🙂
@@farmerpete 😁😁👍👍
You are a very inspiring person but iam 63 years old I have put transmission in on rock and transfer cases in by hand but I do have 3 ton low pro floor jacks and I work on concrete now instead of doing it on the rock driveway!
Thank you. A good floor jack on a concrete surface is a great help.
G day pete Boy that 6 with that 5 spd should be cat's meow
Yesterday at horse & buggy neighbour there was a white ford. low rider {I guess}
I am about 5-5 height & I could almost look over roof getting me to think it was a ranger
He said it,s has 300 6
I then realize it was a full 150 told him u r rebuilding it
Cummins is coming out with 6 cyl gas!!!!
They use diesel block & put gas head on Yrs ago gm had 292-6
Maybe new concept coming!
What state r u in ??
Thanks good luck!
Good morning Don! I hadn't heard about a Cummins gas engine. That should really be something! The old Chevy 292s had a pretty good reputation. They weren't around nearly as long as the Ford 300 six. I'm in Wisconsin.
That's great work there, Pete. Do you happen to know what model number transmission Would work well in my F600 to give me a five speed? Thanks for taking us on your adventure with this truck. 🙂
Thanks SBF!
I've thought about a five speed for my F600 as well but they're a different kettle of fish from this. I believe you'd have to source a 5 speed from a '60s or '70s F600 - F700.
@farmerpete At least it's nice knowing that such a beast might actually exist. Thank you, my friend.
