Except that. .. Christianity is not founded upon, nor sustained by, illogic. There is some profound Mystery involved however it is mystery animated by Truth not fantasy...
Religion is usually based on illogical beliefs, though. This is particularly the case with fundamentalist religions. There are people who actually believe that the first woman was created from one of the ribs of the first man, even though science indicates this isn't possible. These same people also believe that some guy managed to fit himself, his relatives, and specimens of every animal species onto a boat. (If that's true, I want to know how the kangaroos made their way from Australia to the Middle East and back.) Not only that, but many people have also used nonsensical religious teachings to justify misogyny, sectarianism, violence, homophobia, transphobia, animal abuse, classism, child abuse, and slavery. If you ask the followers of these religions why they support such things, they'll simply say that it's because their religious text commands it. Their attitudes and their resulting actions are not based on reason, logic, or statistics that are supported by empirical data. Religion blinds people to reason and facts, and it's one of the main reasons why religion is so harmful. There are children who aren't being taught real science, because the evidence presented by real science runs counter to their parents' beliefs. This is one of the reasons why we have people who will ignore whatever evidence they find unpalatable and then latch onto conspiracy theories that tell them what they want to hear. We now have graduates from the University of Facebook who think that their ignorance is just as good as the knowledge of scientists and historians with doctorates from accredited schools. As a result of this, students in the United States are behind those in the rest of the developed world in math and science. And perhaps worst of all, our democracy is now in trouble, because these same people have been spoonfed revisionist history by the politicians whose careers depend on their ignorance.
@@tangerinefizz11 I believe that the first mention of humans is the coming forth of the Human Family that then had several branches, but only one survived. The creation of the "woman" in the "2nd" account was following a near extinction event and related the genetic design of a female Homo sapiens sapiens. This was an account of human beings beginning to turn to cultivation. The Flood did not need to involve all animals species that are now on the planet. In fact, the ones referred to are the animals that would be useful in the cultivation of the soil. SOME people believe what you said; OTHER people believe it means other things. And there are plenty of people who did not have the Hebrew-Christian Bible to do all of those things you mentioned. So the God of the Bible who wants relationship with his children and who actually requires mercy to one another and for the oppressed to be relieved is not blame for it. It is misinterpretations of Him by human beings.
@@tangerinefizz11 that "all religions" would include atheism. And since you too are a person, then you too can be wrong. Maybe you are wrong about this. For myself, I am often wrong, but I keep trying and I base it on the belief in a Good Father God who wants me to learn to be compassionately merciful. Otherwise as an extreme introvert, I wouldn't bother.

Congratulations. Every word you just wrote is either dead wrong or, at best, a mistaken foundation of belief.
I hate gosssssip!!!!!!!!!!!!
Religion is not illogical. It has served a purpose throughout Human history.
Alright!
@@jueneturner8331 All religions are the creations of people, not deities. All people are also fallible, and religious teachings reflect this fact.
