Mike, you are too kind. I am just happy to share and more than anything glad to hear other people enjoy them. Cheers to you, sir and happy smoking out there! 🔥
This is an awesome video! I agree with you about the coarse salt & ground pepper. They mix easier and they also don't make the rub taste overly salty or peppery. I hate most premade salts because their so damn salty! Plus, I think my cardiologist is monitoring my social media since he found out I do videos! 🙄
Howdy Partner, LOVEEEEEEE this video from Dallas,TX! LOL, your Beef rub goes against that grain for me/us when it comes to Central TEXAS Rub, ( Salt/Pepper/Garlic only), but…, it still looks NICEEEE!!!!💪🏼💪🏼👍🏼😎 Question….., I really like your AP & Rib rub. But…, since they can be inter changed, how do you decide which one you will use? Do you ever STACK rubs on top of one another? What’s your process for rub selections, (The Beef rub is understandable)! Think I will use your video to make my own, (LOL, with a few Mod’s-Granulated Honey, Granulated Jalapeño and will probably try splitting the Kosher salt with Lawry’s Seasoning Salt)!!!!! Thanks for your time!👍🏼💪🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😎😋😋😋😋
Hey Joe, I've been watching your videos. I found this old one, you're from Indianapolis Indiana. I'm from Evansville Indiana now living across the Ohio river in Henderson Kentucky. I like watching grilling smoking videos some know what they are doing some I laugh at I laugh at yours because I like your style not because you don't know what you're doing I know a veteran when I see one and you are no rookie keep showing people how to cook BBQ the right way.
Just ordered up some of that jalapeño garlic… I’m gonna do me the same damn thing. End of the rub rainbow hey!? Can’t wait to try it. What you saying it’s best on??
Nice rub guy! I like to grind the celery seed, that way ya dont get a bg bite of it. ribs and butts turned out great, 3 briskets on now, the Dyna shes struggling at -5 here, but i have faith in her!
Hello.. I picked up a dyna GLO myself and finally found your channel.. can you give me any advice on fire management.. mine seems to smoke a lot more than my offset.. also how long does your box maintain the temp??
Congrats on the new Dyna, Julio! 👍 I think the level of smoke depends on the ratio of charcoal, lump coal and wood chunks you're using in the firebox. I find that less is more with the wood chunks. I like to use smaller wood chunks and just five or six of them. Then a small layer of charcoal briquettes for a bottom layer and catch all. I then like to fill the rest with lump charcoal of preference. (Royal Oak for me). Here's a link to my Fire Maintence Video that should explain some things > th-cam.com/video/_QfSaSHouiQ/w-d-xo.html Feel free to email me if you have any more questions. Cheers and happy smoking to you! 🔥
Always nice to meet a fellow Hoosier! We have some of the best pork in our own backyard, not a bad place to be for smoking meats. Cheers and thanks for checking out the channel. 😎
Tried these all out. Slightly different than my bbq rub, but these are all phenomenal sir! Do you make sauce? If not, I can shoot you a couple recipes I use. The AP is a home run, btw. Smoke away!
Thanks so much, Guy! I have definitely done quite a few cooks, where I just use the AP. Much appreciated for the kind words my friend! Cheers and happy smoking to you! 🔥
Thank you so much! I use the beef rub on on brisket, tri tip, beef roasts and such. If it's a quality steak, I just use kosher salt and fresh ground pepper. The BBQ rub is good for pretty much all pork and chicken. I recently made a new rub just for chicken but that AP Rub is the bomb on chicken by itself as well. I rarely use store bought rubs because half the fun of cooking should be making your own seasoning and flavor profiles. Cheers!
@@EverettBBQ no prob, Harry Soo and Tuffy stone both use Ground Celery Seed in their competition rubs....Harry has a video about how different additives ma e the smoke ring more prevalent

Thanks so much for the feedback, Mike! Some of my older vids have bad balance on the music but you're not the only one who doesn't like the background music, so it might be time to make a change. living just south of Terre Haute, just got me a Dyna Glo Vertical Wide body, your video got me going in the right direction, appreciate it
Thanks so much for checking out the vid! Best of luck with your Dyna-Glo and enjoy the tasty BBQ on its way! :)
your background music almost sounds like the BBQ Pitboys "BBQ Shoes" by Blue House Great video BTW

I added 2 tablespoons of Heath Riles jalapeno garlic to the bbq rub recipe. Great Caesar's ghost! I've found the end of the rub rainbow 🌈!

Only difference in My AP rub is Chilli Powder and cayenne. Add an equal amount of Brown sugar and you got my BBQ rub.

We can work out a deal.... there will be a trivia question coming up that I'll bet you will know. 😉
what music you got us jamming to?
The intro I believe is "Double You" by the Mini Vandals and the main track for the video is "Blues Blast" by John Deley. Thanks so much, Dennis! 👊

That music is a BAD idea
