I’m reading the books again, and book Malfoy is so witty and snappy, like how he kept burning Neville with funny lines like: ‘longbottom, if brains were gold you’d be poorer than the Weasley’ he was such a little troll. Also, how is anyone not obese at hogwarts? I’d eat every hour
When I first got into Harry Potter, I was 2 and was recently diagnosed with ADHD. Nothing could have had me sit still. Except Harry Potter. It was the only movie that could have me stay still and just watch. I’m 21 now and I am more in love with Harry Potter
I found this podcast interesting because it tells how they made the Harry Potter movies, based on the books, it also talks about the cast of each character and what it was like to work with children who grew up to finish filming all the movies. It´s also interesting How they recreated the visual effects in the movies since when using magic these were essential to give meaning to the film, allowing us to imagine what it would be like to live inside a magical world.
came back to watch all this !I love when you talk about the books takes me back to classroom days reading them I've watched the 1st one you did and the villain's looking forward to the rest!
I love you guys but please no more Ron slander haha!!! Unfortunately they sacrificed the best qualities of Ron’s character to make Hermione’s character better in the movies. Ron served as both Harry and Hermione’s connection to the wizarding world since he was the only one to grow up in it. In the movies, they took that knowledge away and gave it to Hermione which was wrong to do. Hermione is OP in the movies haha
Pretty sure that story you told about Kloves telling JK his fav character was Hermione, I’m positive I’ve heard Christopher Columbus tell in BTS on Sorcerer’s Stone
Maybe they both did! I saw an interview with Kloves and he told that story about meeting JK for the first time and being intimidated about adapting her novels into scripts!
I think in the books, Dumbledore actually tells the Dursley off face to face with how crappy they treated Harry. I’m not sure which book it was though.
I find this podcasts interesting magical because it talks about the Harry Potter movies and books about magic spells and gives way to imagination and coexistence with magicians where it makes us live an adventure and imagine a world outside of reality with things out of the ordinary a creative and relative magic
The Harry Potter theme is extremely similar to the melody in Home Alone when Kevin is setting up all the traps. If you listen to it, it’s almost the exact same melody, just slower and with different instruments.
I have a theory why the Harry Potter world is the most popular fantasy world ever. I've read a ton of fantasy books and book series and there are a TON of examples of better fleshed out and developed worlds out there. I think Harry Potter is popular because its underdeveloped *in just the right ways*. Things that are well developed are mainly the Victorian aesthetic which is comforting and familiar, and the many references on other fantasy and mythological aspects. What's underdeveloped, severely underdeveloped, is magic. You mean to tell me that magic has been around for centuries and Molly weasley needs to magick a damn sponge to wash her dishes and needs to consult lockharts book to get rid of garden gnomes? Wizards dont walk around in layers of protective spells as a default? They gotta drive to central London to take a train to hogwarts? Essentially every time magic is used in the stories, it feels like the characters JUST discovered magic a few years ago. So every time that magic plays a central role in an arc, we get the dopamine hit of discovery. For example in books 5 and 7 when the order goes to collect harry. These elaborate schemes are entertaining but they dont make sense based on the magic system. They are satisfyingly awkward. They are magical solutions that we the readers would come up with so we feel comfort in seeing them but they're not solutions that are the natural result of centuries of magical progress. Centuries of magic and their communications means are worse than muggles? Hermione has to go to the *library* and later on carry dozens of books around to find stuff? Anyways I'm done ranting I'm just saying that the Harry Potter world and magic system are satisfyingly underdeveloped and we get the thrill of rediscovering it every time they get awkwardly clunky and inefficient with magic.
Aw wack 😒, yall gotta use some background music! It would make the conversions more imersive, make it more a vibe ya know 😁 love the podcast! I'm about to binge all the hairy potters ones ☺

I always wondered what school was like for Harry before he went to Hogwarts. He seemed like a likeable kid. Did he have friends? were they one day like, "where's Harry? I haven't seen him in school for a while now." lol
Great question! So JK goes into detail on that in the books. Harry is a great kid, but Dudley is such a bully that all other classmates are afraid to be friends or even talk to Harry. Dudley is the reason Harry has never had a friend.
Great discussions! Just found your podcast so excited to see more! Rupert Grint is easily the better actor of the 3 not Emma IMO. But it's obvious Steve K fave was Hermione as the way she's characterised...you'd think she could defeat Voldemolt herself. If we ever get the TV series, I hope they focus more on her flaws so shes not seen a 'Mary Sue'

GOAT Podcast. Not even exaggerating, you’ve done like 2 of my random requests. Individual eps for the HP films, and Lotr.
Thank you!!! Stay tuned for more HP!

After reading the books for the first time this year, I feel like Richard Harris was the best choice for Dumbledore. RIP
🙏🙏
He was almost too perfect as Dumbledore.
@@joshpenney808 absolutely heartbreaking man
@@joshpenney808 but I also think micheal gambon probably did the action scenes better than Harris would’ve

He basically shakes them for how they raised Dudley, and the Dursley’s are confused thinking Dudley is amazing 🤣🤣
