  • One of the most remote inhabited islands along Croatia’s Adriatic Sea, Lastovo, only 18 square miles in size, has old school charm and a calm way of life.
Close by to Korcula, Lastovo is a hidden gem worthy of exploration. Similar to Vis, this pocket-sized island was used as an army base and was closed off to tourism until 1988, where its old school charm has been maintained for its less than 1000 inhabitants.
Surrounded by 46 small islands and islets, which are full of everything from churches to vineyards, if you’re looking to escape to this relatively small island, there are a number of towns worthy of a wander.
Lastovo, as the main town, will welcome you with a sweeping of stone houses famously known for their impressive chimneys.
Find other towns including Ubli and Skrivena Luka where you can discover amazing beaches, delicious food scenes and even an international music festival.
Lastovo is perfect for travellers looking to avoid crowds and get off the beaten track.
