I’m going to Korčula in September but after having been to Hvar twice in the last year, honestly, Hvar seems much more beautiful landscape-wise. The smaller towns were virtually empty in the heat of summer and even Hvar the town was still empty in late May vs when we went in August last year (before peak tourist season). Most of the places we went to in Hvar last May (especially local restaurants) were almost only filled with locals

That is a great point. I wish we had had more time to explore outside of Hvar town especially outside peak season.
Would love to hear how you like Korčula!

The town of Hvar on the island of Hvar is more for the jet set, in the other towns of Starigrad Jelsa or Zavla it is much more relaxed.

Hey Mary. Glad it was helpful! Could definitely do two days on each island. A little less time to explore but I think you could see the highlights. Both are beautiful!

Great information. Question, what month were you there? We have 5 full days, with a car, trying to fit in Dubrovnik, Kurcola, Zadar, Split and Plitvice National park!! Is it too much? Which would you cut?

Hey Perla, are you driving or flying into Croatia? I would personally find that schedule too rushed. Dubrovnik and Plitvice were our favorites! I think you could add either Hvar or Korcula to the itinerary although it would be a bit rushed. I haven't been to Zadar so I can't comment on visiting there. Split was our least favorite of those locations, so maybe skip it unless you would really like to see Diocletian's Palace.
I think with only 5 days choosing 2-3 locations would be best so you have time to explore.

We have 2 nights booked in hvar. Now I’m wondering if I shd cancel and book in Korcula. Or shd I do 1 night in Korcula and 1 night in hvar?

Hvar is a beautiful island. I think you would have a great time in either one! Personally would spent two nights on one of the islands so that you don’t spend so much time in transit.
How were you planning to get to Hvar? If you are coming from Split, Hvar makes a lot of sense because it’s so close. If you’re coming from Dubrovnik, I would recommend Korcula.

Well korcula is better while hvar is more expensive and more about jet setters. You are bettef off going to hvar starigrad.
