Kobe had the old school mentality that both ends of the court were important and not just one side and worked hard at it. Todays Olympic team has poor defense and as more teams become aggressive the harder it will be for team USA to get the gold. The mentality Kobe showed os the dame mentality the Dream Team showed, but the difference was the Dream Team did it collectively and Kobe did it more by himself. Now today they just don't seem to care all that much.
I think AD’s passion and aggressiveness is the X factor. You don’t always get it, but when he decides to take over and bully guys, he gets 20 rebounds, best defender in the world, and demands a lot of help that frees up everyone.
@@imsljr420 The mainstream media wanted you to forget about it because it defeats their entire narrative of LeBron being better than Jordan. Its laughable sports media blinds the minds of so many to pedal such delusions that LeBron is anywhere near Bryants level. From '08 to '10 Bryant gentlemen swept (Spurs) & beat in 6 (Magic) & 7gms (Celtics) the squads that LeBron couldn't get past with a perennial 50+ / 60+ win team 😂 He had to team up with 2 HOFs in their primes as a back to back MVP & attempted to collude for Carmelo all to stop an aging Kobe w/ 0 Top 75 players from winning a 6th or 7th title 😂

@nydibs true, but that doesnt take away anything from the actual skill he had. Lebron is lucky he has a 6'9 tank frame and could bully his way to the basket most of his career (higher FG%). kobe never had that, he had to have more of a very deep bag than Lebron

Diamantidis and Spanoulis are legends of Greek basketball. The thing is, baskstball under FIBA rules is a different (but similar) sport to the NBA basketball. Some players that aren't good at baskstball under NBA rules and NBA style of play are great under FIBA rules and in a European team with a team oriented playstyle with lots of sets and not many iso plays
it's not just the rules, it's the rules THEN. Back then the NBA was extremely tough, defense was paramount, and the rules catered to a different game. But since the rules changes and officiating leniency, FIBA ball is much more physical than NBA style, harder defense and NBA players are now ill-prepared to come into FIBA. Even back then the way they called traveling and carries was more tight than NBA.
@@theflyingkaramazovbrothers6 It is not just about the officiating leniency, but the court is smaller, there is less space to operate, there is no defensive 3 seconds violation which means even less spacing. And then obviously there is the fact that national teams other than the US play team basketball, while the US is playing ineffective (and ugly) iso ball.

You just go to these type of TH-cam channels to feed your confirmation bias because your just another Bron hater. But it’s ok keep being a bot.
Kobe’s mindset was like NFL level Cornerback(Darelle Revis/Champ Bailey) in limiting the other teams best perimeter offensive player. I think his work ethic rubbed off on the rest of the team because guys like Bron D-Wade Melo Dwight CP3 and every1 else at the time had career years in terms of individual play or team success the following NBA season. Long live the legend Mamba 24/8
It isnt just his defence but his work ethic that gsve everyone a kick up the arse Melo remarked that they went bsck to tjr hotel in the morning after a night of clubbing, only to bump into Kobe all suited up for his firsr work out for the day
I have been saying this since this current team hit the floor. They have no dogs, no one who will literally throw their body all over the court on the defensive side of the ball, and that is something they will need if the expect to win a gold medal.
The kid from Minnesota did in their playoff run this year. He’s too young to bet on, but he can and does play both ends like that. I’m not his biggest fan, but his defense was inspiring this year.
@@Dutch_Rudder I think he has the potential to grow in that way as a player, but we have to see. Money has a way of killing drive and motivation these days.
Lmao your pronunciation of Diamantidis and Spanoulis had me rolling 😂 not mocking, I butcher foreign names all the time, it's just funny. These players are legends of Greek basketball though, these stats were common at the time
LeBron literally didn’t like Kobe after this because Kobe showed LeBron what he is not. LeBron pretends to be an alpha until a real alpha shows up. LeBron hates when that happens because he’s silks and whines rather than competes. Kobe could see right through him.
Kob is the Alpha of the Alphas of 08 US Mens basketball team in olympics. Balco was just a credit grabber while making 2 pts in the 4th of the Finals game againts spain.
People who say lebron is a great player. Know basketball in the same way I know english...... Kobe is the true. It is like that. MJ kBB and them anyone else.
Somehow they sold LeFraud as #2, but he's never cleared Kobe (or Magic, or Duncan etc.). No matter how many times they slander Kobe or other greats, LeBalco doesn't skip the line!
Seen a Tweet go viral yesterday saying “Kobe is closer to top 12 all time then top 5” and many people were agreeing. Man Wtf has the nba community become ?
This video is an small example why real true laker fans will never respect or love LBJ like we do kobe kobe gave his all 24/7 kobe took all the blame rather it was truly his fault or not what kobe did for LAL LeBron could never do not just for LAL but for Cleveland either
Other than Anyhony Davis, you'll never see anyone consistantly play this type harassing defense the way Kobe did!!! I'm tell'en y'all, these players are to stuck in their heads. Where did Kobe get this mindset from? 🤔 THE 92 DRM TM❗️ You see, everyone seems to think back then the other countries weren't that good. They were very good teams. It was simple. The philosophy was egos, swelled heads, bags, Don't bring any of that on the floor! You max out effort-wise on both endz, NO EXCUSES❗️We Dominate EVERY OPPONENT, "No Let Up, Start To Finish❗️ This breed of athlete in today's age, their not going to expend that type energy! They're going to get ahead by 10, 15 points and them take their foot off the gas and start lollygaging. It's just fun to them. It's not a mission! They don't look at it the way The 92 Team did, or Kob, or D-Wade❗️❗️❗️It was relentless pressure from start to finish. That's what the exceptions provided. And one other thing. When you are in shape, you're not worried about getting tired, or your expending so much energy on offense that you lag on D. That's rediculous, why? Because that's what you have substitutions for!!!!! That was Chuck Daly's decision! You give max effort the minutes your on the floor on both endz, and that effort is maxxed until you get replaced, period! The whole Dream Team expected that from one another. That's why THEY DOMINATED AND BEAT EVERYONE BY AN AVERAGE OF 40+❗️ I get so sick of this, "Well he can't be expected to play both sides of the ball". Has the court gotten wider/longer? Have the dimensions changed? The 92 Team and Kobe just showed you the formula to dominate! Every Dream Team player gave the effort you see in this vid from Kobe! IT'S WHERE HE GOT IT FROM❗️
Yall casuals really expose how little yall actually watch basketball. Saying that Ad is the only who brings consistent effort on defense is wrong. Also kobe took a lot of breaks on defense in the late 2000s in his prime. But you wouldn’t know that because you just listen to false narratives instead of looking at it for yourself.
Do you have the Olympic contests on DVD when Kobe and D-Wade played? Do you have the 92 Dream Team Olympic games on DVD, along with to tournament of the America games, which were the tune ups before the actual Olympic games started? Casuals don't have games like I do that I can play at my leisure. Game footage is just that and Kobe shut doors on opponents, locking them up. Were you around to see any of it? Maybe you need to watch the current games a little closer and you'll see any time AD'S in the paint 90% of the time shots are either blocked or altered. I think the casual who doesn't at all know the game is who's getting the response.

One of my favorite videos. Excellent job! Kobe’s defense is so underrated while LeBron’s is so overrated. I was just having a discussion with someone who was trying to say LeBron was a better defender because he was “arguably robbed of Defensive Player of the Year”. 🤔 🤔 Wonder where he got Klutch…I mean such an idea. 😂😂😂
the media will never talk or show that USA scrimmage game when kobe torched LeBron... They don't even like to talk about it or feature it on ESPN when it happened.. Everyone knows head to hea kobe cooked lebron

@@theflyingkaramazovbrothers6 No you didnt watch. Wade and James dominated on defense and transition buckets this is why they won and why Wade and James decided to join up together on the Heat
Smush Parker didn’t do well with Kobe because he didn’t care about his profession. He told on himself. Kobe was mad at him because he didn’t put in work and was lazy and he blamed didn’t get better and that’s why his career was a zero.
The reason that Team USA is struggling is the fault of the people who run Team USA. They simply have to figure out something to get these olympic teams practicing together sooner and more often. The problem being that they have to understandably wait for the NBA playoffs to conclude before olympic practices can really begin. Is it time to maybe adjust the NBA schedule during olympic years so that the NBA players have time to practice and build some type of chemistry?
no, the problem is the NBA game is not conducive to immediate success in FIBA and the court is smaller, which reduces the athletic advantage and its impact on the game. Not ALL of these teams are playing for months, that's not true. It's an excuse that used to be true and is now just an excuse. The old regime under Coach K and what's the guy from Phoenix----there used to be continuity so at least the following cup or olympics guys had been in multiple practice runs, and competition. Lebron and others decided they wanted to make it about themselves and now we have a bunch of old guys. Someone like Jrue Holiday and Derrick White are great glue picks that can actually play defense.
The main difference I noticed between the Dream Team and this year's roster is defense and effort. Not just steals and blocks. But the eye test. I barely saw anyone from today's Team USA boxout. It seems like they're just relying too much on being bigger and more athletic than everybody else. (But they're really not anymore) And their defensive scheme sucks. Switch everything? That's it? They don't even fight through screens. They just concede the switch every single time. And when the opponent gets the mismatch, they get beat. That's the main reason South Sudan was almost able to beat them. It doesn't look like anyone on that team seems to give a f*ck. The Dream Team was there to send a message and play basketball. This team looks like they're just here for clout chasing.
they are there for clout chasing. Not all of them maybe but the LeVengers meme represents just how much this is about Lebron crafting a narrative. He wants to be the lead dog on a gold medal Olympic team since he failed to do it before without assists from Kobe and Wade. Nevermind that Durant is one of the greatest Team USA basketball players of all time (even better than most on the dream team in terms of international play) and has carried teams to titles. Lebron is "lead" and is going to get the credit.
@@theflyingkaramazovbrothers6 fr. I saw a comment thread in a youtube video saying that if this team USA wins gold, this will add another point to Lebron's GOAT case 🤣🤣🤣
I'd take Kobe on my team over LeBron even to this day. Yes, you heard me, it means I'd rather not have LeBron on my team. I'm aware Kobe is dead. I just don't want cancer on my team.
Unfortunately this video has been demonetized and limited. If y’all could like the video I would greatly appreciate it. See you next time.
What?! For what tho 😂 why would they demonetize this? Cause you gave Kobe the props he deserves?! 😅
This is the same thing that Happened with Skapps Video when he gave Kobe the praise for being the Alpha of 08 not Balco. Seems like Kutch and Balco's fan girls don't want to watch the truth of that 08 US Basketball team.
I get:

This Kobe guy kinda reminds me of Michael Jordan.
He basically was with a completely different life.
Because they're both 6'6" and black?
Kobe reminds me of a street ball version of MJ. Very, very flashy with the same motivation.
@@imsljr420And their play styles, their similar mentalities and attitudes, their work ethic, their commitment to excellence, etc.
Right?!?!?!?! He sorta does 😂😂😂
Kobe had the old school mentality that both ends of the court were important and not just one side and worked hard at it.
Netflix documentary explained it very well and good because Kobe set the tone during practice and early morning workouts

Its laughable sports media blinds the minds of so many to pedal such delusions that LeBron is anywhere near Bryants level.
From '08 to '10 Bryant gentlemen swept (Spurs) & beat in 6 (Magic) & 7gms (Celtics) the squads that LeBron couldn't get past with a perennial 50+ / 60+ win team 😂

Kobe took winning and defense seriously something this Team USA is lacking.

Good players adapt to familiarity. Great players adapt to any condition.
You're damn right his defence saved team usa. This time, nobody can single handedly save team usa.

Other than Anyhony Davis, you'll never see anyone consistantly play this type harassing defense the way Kobe did!!!
I'm tell'en y'all, these players are to stuck in their heads.
Where did Kobe get this mindset from? 🤔 THE 92 DRM TM❗️
You see, everyone seems to think back then the other countries weren't that good. They were very good teams.
It was simple. The philosophy was egos, swelled heads, bags, Don't bring any of that on the floor! You max out effort-wise on both endz, NO EXCUSES❗️We Dominate EVERY OPPONENT, "No Let Up, Start To Finish❗️
This breed of athlete in today's age, their not going to expend that type energy!
That's why THEY DOMINATED AND BEAT EVERYONE BY AN AVERAGE OF 40+❗️
I get so sick of this, "Well he can't be expected to play both sides of the ball".

Defense??? Is that some sort of old school thing or something 😂
(But they're really not anymore)
And their defensive scheme sucks.

Im confused why was kobe guard the best players on the other team. Lebron can guard 1-5 according to him. Who was the king guarding? 😂😂
Nah 08 Dwade balled out he was the best
