Yeah they are the most dominant but they are not the strongest team. The game has evolved specially to other countries so it’s understandable that 1992 is the most dominant. Today many countries can compete they evolved their game specifically euro countries. I think 2012 is the most talented team maybe 2008

The 2012 USA team only beat Spain by 7 points and beat Lithuania only by 5 points, how is that dominant lol. And not all the talent was that much better than what the Dream Team played in 92. Look at Lithuania's best player in 2012 Linas Kleiza. Kleiza's career high was averaging 11 ppg in the NBA. Lithuania's second leading scorer in 2012, Darius Songaila, averaged 6.9 ppg as a role player for different teams in the NBA. Compare that to the 1992 Croatian team who the Dream Team beat for the gold by 32 points, you had Toni Kukoc who went on to win 6th man of the year and championships with the Bulls, Drazen Petrovic who was the Nets' leading scorer (22 ppg) and becoming one of the NBA's best shooters (44.9% from 3 pt range) before he tragically passed away, and Dino Radja who averaged 16.7 ppg in four seasons with the Celtics, his best was a solid 19.7 ppg and 9.8 rpg in 95-96. LIthuania was not a great team and this "dominant" 2012 team barely won.
2012 maybe more athletic but the front court of 1992 would dominate the paint..sorry but i take Ewing and Robinson at center anyday. Post up? Sorry but Barkley and Malone just overpowering for the 2012 squad. Dont forget that the 1992 squad were all lock down defenders. Im sure the 2012 will win a game or 2 against the 1992 squad. And they all are just chomping at the bit to tell anybody that will fuckin' listen to 'em, that they think their current squad could beat the original 1992 dream team if they were actually able to play a head to head, every player involved in the 7 game series are each in their own prime years. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and there actually is no right or wrong answer, but I just don't see ANY TEAM beating "THE" true and ORIGINAL1992 "Dream Team" in a 7 game series. I just can't imagine a scenario that would result in the 1992 team losing a series like that.
@@justinlaw9336 you do know Larry was a shell of himself and magic was rusty lol but my whole point about this comment was we talk about 08 so much by why not 2012?
Just going through the starters Magic > Chris Paul MJ > Kobe Bird < Lebron Malone < Durant Ewing > chandler So Dream 3 2012 2 Dream wins (Of course tactics, coaching, match ups etc will play a role here this is just oversimplified)
92 was way more dominant. They might not have been as athletic as 2012, but they were way more dominant. Only because the rest of the world was not as good in comparison bavk in 92. In 2012, other countries had actual NBA players on their teams, whereas 92, other world teams were like amateurs and college kids. So yeah, I think that relatively, the 92 Dream Team was wayyyy more dominant.
Lithuania was great. The size of West Virginia with the population of Mississipi and everyone is basketball crazy. Pound for pound the best basketball nation. Sadly they've underperformed and disappointed the last few tournaments.
The difference why that team was so dominant is because they pressed on defense after scored or they picked up the opponents in their court, weather full court, three quarters or half court at the half court line pressure. They substituted frequently using their bench. The USA Men's Basketball Team's two greatest assets is their athleticism and bench. The last World Championship they played Euro Basketball. They scored and ran back to play defense. I believe they should take a page from Nolan Richardson's playback, "40 mins.of Hell". Full court pressure on defense and run run run on offense. Playing zone or half court man to man is how the rest of the World likes to play especially Europe. Sure Team USA will give up some layups but the other teams will give up more layups. If Team USA relies on the 3 point shot as their major weapon I believe they will struggle for the "Gold". I still think they're capable of winning but playing Euroball...... Don't worry about USA Women's Basketball Team. The rest of the world is still far behind them. The Women's 3 on 3 I believe will be a more difficult task for Team USA. Last year was fun watching. A lot more fun than the "Big 3". That's a boring league. They need some name players or though I think it's very creative.
Ten players of the 1992 Dream team belong to the top 75 greatest basketball players of all time. The 2024, has four. It would have been eleven had Isiah Thomas been included.

He meant they could beat them if they came out of retirement.
I think Kobe was saying if the dream team came out of retirement the 2012 team could potentially beat them. I don't think so, but you never know.
No he meant they’d beat the dream team straight up Kobe ain’t ducking shit
Bro didn’t know what Stephen hawkin did 💀💀
I guess I don’t 😭
LeBronze
LeGold
Just going through the starters
Magic > Chris Paul
MJ > Kobe
Bird < Lebron
Malone < Durant
Ewing > chandler
So Dream 3 2012 2
Dream wins
(Of course tactics, coaching, match ups etc will play a role here this is just oversimplified)
Yea true good call
First of all charles barkley was the starter and give me MVP Chuck over baby KD. 😂😂😂
that’s all tho young kd old bird and magic ect
Don't forget the uninjured David Robinson, a very underrated center. Plus John Stockton who is top 3 PGs of all time.
Awful take @@whenisdinner2137
Enzo Fernandez and the Argentinians are preparing a Song for team USA. Be aware of that😂
Lmaooo
@@ModernTwoThree 😂😂😂you got it
92 was way more dominant.
Went from the 2012 Redeem team to the 2024 LeLympic team
Lmaooo
I miss Kobe ❤

Kobe’s hair 😂😂😂
Lithuania was great. The size of West Virginia with the population of Mississipi and everyone is basketball crazy. Pound for pound the best basketball nation. Sadly they've underperformed and disappointed the last few tournaments.
Good point
serge ibaka is the cutest traditional pf
Fair point
Factual information
Huge Statement.

Ten players of the 1992 Dream team belong to the top 75 greatest basketball players of all time. The 2024, has four. It would have been eleven had Isiah Thomas been included.
