Joe Payne was the singer of the long-standing symphonic/prog band The Enid for a while a decade or so ago

That Joe Payne is definitely the singer from The Enid. Check out their Invicta album. Amazing singer. I heard him with The Enid in a pub gig and they totally blew me away.

these was a Joe Payne (bassist) who was in the band Divine Heresy [amongst others] and was touring bassist for Nile. That Joe Payne was a member of the band Asia & later Asia featuring Joe Payne

Wait, what, vocals? Didn't expect that. Will have to give a sample a listen and see how Jordan and his band sound on this release.

What is special about this album is the emotional focus. I wouldn't say that it is poppy in the sense like Leprous. It is a highly complex music with emotion oriented vocals and it is quite unique for the genre.

This is a bit mellow for what I like hearing from Rudess, but as with pretty much all of his solo albums, I respect the artistry.

Jordan looks like Michael Eavis of Glastonbury fame

It's OK but if it were all instrumental that would add at least a couple stars (for me anyway). More of "Into The Lair" & less of everything else. 'Lush' is accurate - but too lush for me. Doesn't really hold up to Wired For Madness (his last solo record that I really liked). Great player but so-so album...
    Other recent new stuff:
Goose/Live At The Fox Theatre & LIve At The Capitol Theatre - always an interesting (jam) band especially live
    Owen Stewart/Done And Dusted
Shed Seven/Liquid Gold - best of comp (power pop)
