Thank you Brother this was most helpful, recognised the music straight away 👍🏻I bought this for the Broadcast and couldn't have set it up without this help from you.
Great review. Just as you were searching for an alternative backup so was I. This is actually quite a versatile device. Not only can you transfer data from your iPhone with the app you can share those same pictures or data to any device including Android and even to my Mac Air and PC. This flexibility is great ! What a great price point that this being offered for ! (Double bonus). Device independence and inexpensive storage.
I see you were able to save a 12GB file so it supports NTFS or ExFat. 1. How long can it last on one charge 2. Can you connect to it and have it charged at the same time if is connected to a PC/Mac 3.How strong is the WiFi like can you access the device if you have it in your bag or pocket 4.What is the range of the WiFi. Interested to see how accessible it is, as I plan on investing on 'wireless offline mobile storage'. good review though.
1. I think about 2-4 hours 2. Yes. I connect it to a solar phone charger and it'll both charge and play. 3. Not sure. Have had it downstairs, watching up stairs in the house. 4. Doubtful it's further than a router, but see #3
all videos that i saw talked about tranfer photos and videos, streaming, etc. I'm no interested about that, i want to know if with this you can tranfer files like word, excel, powerpoint, and another files that no PHOTOS or MOVIES.
How long does it take to upload/download a 1GB file from iOS to the drive or drive to iOS When connected to the Drive's wifi. ? I'm surprised no one talks about the wifi transfer speed/time for large files. Planning to buy this. This info would be helpful. Thanks.
I'm loving sandisk connect wireless flash drive in 2021. Disappointed no longer manufacturing. Posted how to setup a wireless portable Plex like web server accessible and shareable from a public website from any wifi by anyone on the same wifi using this flash drive.
Just bought one today, thanks for this video, very well done and informative. I have only one question, what color is the LED when the drive is fully charged? covers all light changes but that one. Thanks again.
What if all you have is a iPad and iPhone, do you need a laptop to get this started? Just looking to dump photos from the above onto this devise for storage???
My Walmart was sold out of these things, they only had the 16GB models left... what a bummer, everybody took the 32GB models - I have a 32GB SanDisk SD Card in my phone and I wanted a 32GB SanDisk USB Drive to match but I was left with the one everybody didn't really want as to speak, I'm happy with it, I connected it to my network and I can just throw files on/off of it.
Great video. Planning to buyone to use with my android phone and ipad. Question - can the videos be accessed via VLC or similar video player app (and not just the stock sandisk app) ?
Thanks for sharing... I have one question: Can I plug this usb thumb drive into and offline system and send files to the stick from my CPU and have those files read on the online system?
Thanks. Yes, once the files are on the stick, which at the offline PC (for example) end is just plug and play like any normal drive. Then it's totally independent and creates it's own network to connect to your device.
Thank you Bro. for the video explanation. This could be handy when saving JWPUB files which I guess could be opened in the JWL app on a device or pc/ laptop or save PDF files which could be opened in a PDF reader - is that correct?
I know this is a rather old video, but I’m trying to find out whether you can WRITE/SAVE to the drive wirelessly from a laptop. I’ve been told by some you can, and by some that you can only write to the device when it’s plugged into your laptop/pc. I need this to stay plugged into something in one room, and be able to save files to it from my laptop in another room. Any ideas?
Hallo ich besitze einen iphone 6s plus mit wenig speicher es geht mir um musik und zwar ist meine frage kann ich den stick als normale sd karte benutzen wenn ich zb auf Itube musik downloade sd einschalten?
Mine started the transfer but didn't finish it and saved nothing. Then I tried the next day but , while it does show up as a network on my phone , it keeps telling me "no internet connection". Extremely frustrating experience!
I can not use SanDisk to Drive all pictures and videos from phone to that WireLess Disk. Everything came from ICloud back to my IPhone , and stuck after first File . Could you please make a video how to keep all videos and pictures from ICloud in WireLess San Disk.
Can we transfer whatsapp msg and media files to this disk, thereby freeing up more space? Or just transfer media files directly from whatsapp to this disk?
Great video, Damian. Thanks for sharing this. My phone is almost full. Is there a way for me to shoot pics and video and have it saved to the stick without going into my iPhone camera roll.?? If so can you please briefly explain how to.?? Thanks in advance..!! ✌🏼
Yes, I did watch the video and yes I am still dumb. I need to you to personally clarify LOL. If I get this in 128gb or 200gb, I have 128gb of storage (full, I take too many pictures) on my phone. After purchase and I download the app, I then connect my phone and the stick together and I should be able to transfer all of my photos from my phone to the stick? I plan on deleting everything off of my phone afterwards when everything is safe on the stick. Will this work? Is that how it happens?
Damian, thanks for the excellent review of this extremely useful and long wished for tool! Truly a shame that Apple didn't allow micro SD cards from the start, but this wireless is genius. See nota que eres de habla hispana tanto que inglesa; qué bien! I need this drive! Take care and keep up the good work.
Thanks for this video.. you mentioned in your video that the WiFi feature can be password protected. Now here comes a question, what if the flash drive is connected directly to the computer via USB port, it still be password protected ?
+Jonathan Corbett just got it at the weekend, given it a couple days use. I'm happy with it. On the way home from the photo show i backed up my video files onto the stick, from my iPhone with no problems. You can create folders on it with the app, or the pc/mac of course, all on the go without plugging it in. Once it's charged it seems to be good for hours. And if it runs out, plug it into a usb charger :)
+Damian Brown that sounds awesome especially if it can handle large video files too. I was actually thinking the other day of a way to transfer my GoPro video files to use with iPhoto on my iPad, maybe this might be the missing link?
I bought mine for the min, so the main thing was the videos and that works fine. I haven't tried anything LARGE yet though. I'm going to throw a 12gb file on now, just to see... I have a feeling 4gb is the limit but let's see! Now you've said about the gopro.. I was also looking at the Leef iAccess, which isn't quite the same but would allow you to take your mini sd out and plug it straight into the device and the iPad. However it would have to be stored on the iPad as the iAccess (iirc) only has the memory card you stick in it... so it's adaptable for swapping cards and using gopro mini sd cards but you would need memory on your device in that case...
+Jonathan Corbett right so the 12gb mov file only played with audio, though you can use a third party app... the 275mb mp4 video and the 461mb flv video both played flawlessly.
hello: great video, I've ordered the 64gb one too. looking forward to getting it. thanks Ps love the JW apps you have on your phone /tablet. brother from Canada :)
Not really useful as long you have to switch off you regular wifi connection to do something with it. !! also what about a regular network share, that would nice. Anybody have an idea that something like that exists!
Yes I know. That was not what I was taking about. In the video I can clearly see that you disconnect you regular network connection and connect direct to the USB stick via wifi direct! This mean you loose your regular wifi connection what makes it quit useless in my opinion.
You can use your data connection to access the internet. But yes, I guess most common devices such as smartphones and laptops can only accept one wifi network at a time (at least for most of us) and that was the network method they felt best for a device of this nature
Hi my brother. I randomly found your tutorial. I recognized some JW apps on your iPad. So I want to let you know that I appreciate your video. Brotherly love from the Netherlands.
Damian Brown man if I was trying to upload on the go with no WiFi available will I be able to do so with the WiFi that is built into the stick? Because I might be uploading 2-10 minute of video plus 4K photos
if You mean upload from your device to the stick then yes. If you mean upload to the internet then no, unless you have a data plan with your device. The wifi is only for connecting / transfer / access between the stick and the device.
If you don't mind playing music via the sandisk app yes, it connects automatically after the initial setup and then you just open the app and choose the folder/file you need.
Thank you Brother this was most helpful, recognised the music straight away 👍🏻I bought this for the Broadcast and couldn't have set it up without this help from you.
Just getting started on this review and notice first thing ... the camera you're recording on is awesome. Clarity at its best.
Amazing explanation buddy... Really liked the depth in which you've gone! Thumbs up!
thanks!

Does the app supports AirPlay to stream to an AppleTV, for example? Thanks.

Can i connect it to my TV continuously? and upload videos to scandisk from laptop without removing from TV USB?
Can you plug it straight into a wall adapter to charge it or can it only charge via laptop/computer?
Great video. Planning to buyone to use with my android phone and ipad. Question - can the videos be accessed via VLC or similar video player app (and not just the stock sandisk app) ?
I wouldn't think so, at least I haven't tried it. It all works through the app normally. Maybe the android users can try it.
Thanks for sharing... I have one question: Can I plug this usb thumb drive into and offline system and send files to the stick from my CPU and have those files read on the online system?

I am looking for the same functionality. Did you ever get an answer to this question? or did you find another device that could do this?`
can you use that to stream automatic music playlists and transfer random files between 2 computers?
Hallo ich besitze einen iphone 6s plus mit wenig speicher es geht mir um musik und zwar ist meine frage kann ich den stick als normale sd karte benutzen wenn ich zb auf Itube musik downloade sd einschalten?
Mine started the transfer but didn't finish it and saved nothing.

can you play videos on other media player app? does the player support subtitles?

It is good or not can i buys this one ? Or buy ixpand drive plz suggest me

Does it support only videos and pics...wat about other docs like word files and PDFs ...? Plz clarify. ..

Can we transfer whatsapp msg and media files to this disk, thereby freeing up more space? Or just transfer media files directly from whatsapp to this disk?
Great review!!! Do you have an estimate of how long does the battery last?
4 to 5 hour wifi mode accong to advertise
Two Questions:-
1. Does it stream 1080P Movies? 8GB in size?
2. Can it stream Movies to phone which are at 20 meters distant ?
1. Yes
2. Yes
Great help thanks. Nice and clear video guide.
Thanks Zork

Thanks! Ah I don't think so, at least I can't see how. I guess with iOS being so closed it's not possible but maybe somebody can tell us different
Damian Brown Thanks. I'll look into it a little more.

Yes
how does the videos stream? do we need internet connection ? does it takes internet data for streaming the videos from wireless stick?
It creates it's own wifi network for streaming or copying to and from the stick. you can use your data at the same time for receiving messages etc
can we stream wirelessly while this stick is on charging through wall charger
Damian, thanks for the excellent review of this extremely useful and long wished for tool! Truly a shame that Apple didn't allow micro SD cards from the start, but this wireless is genius. See nota que eres de habla hispana tanto que inglesa; qué bien! I need this drive! Take care and keep up the good work.
Jaja algo así si, Muchas gracias :)
how fast would it transfer a big video file from iphone to usb?
does it need Internet connection to upload your files to the flash drive
No, the transfer is just a standard usb stick transfer. So you can plug it into an offline machine and put the files on it.
Is it use to back up music on iphone???
Can we copy and past any thing from stick to aur phone
Thanks for this video.. you mentioned in your video that the WiFi feature can be password protected. Now here comes a question, what if the flash drive is connected directly to the computer via USB port, it still be password protected ?
That looks very useful actually, how long have you been using it for? Might consider getting one soon as I pay 79p a month for Apple storage service.

How about connecting it to the PC wireless?
Would I buy this if I need more room for my apps I download on the App Store
It's more for your media, apps will only save on the phone as far as I know
it's not good for music if you want to skip a song... the sandisk media drive is better
can you stream playlists?
Does it need wifi to work or will it transfer files using bluetooth
It creates it's own wifi network, i.e. you can be in the middle of the desert and transfer files between this and your devices.
If I download a video does it take up space from my iphone
You can save the file on the stick and play it on the phone without transferring it to your iPhone.
cab you play mkv video files with external subtitles in that app??
how long does the battery last
how about the battery life?
Is it working with iPhone 5S?
Should do yes. I haven't tried it but I see no reason why it wouldn't
Well presented, Thanks.
thanks!
Can we transfer pdf and word doc from iphone to this?
Yes
if we want to suffering on internet through wifi ...
than sandisk device will connect or not ..?
or else internet would not work ..?
It will use your data connection at the same time if you set it to do so in settings
Thanks this have a 200gb one and yes apple has great music creative apps but not the space Sandisk save the day indeed
It definitely helped me out for a good while.
What video format are playable?
Can you store apps on it?
How fast does it transfer data via WiFi? Can anyone say?
hello: great video, I've ordered the 64gb one too.
looking forward to getting it. thanks
Ps love the JW apps you have on your
phone /tablet. brother from Canada :)
Well spotted bro! :) enjoy
Can I save Word or Pages documents in it?
DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, PDF Not sure about Pages files! Anybody reading this tried it?
Pls can i use and play online game??
Does it really weigh 36 pounds that seems really heavy
really helpful, thanks
Doe large video files like movies lag
So, can files be password protected?
The drive itself yes, the files I can't see how.

Damian Brown Thanks for replying so quick! How can I do this?
Nice videos 👍
It is taking too much time for transferring data from phn to stick

so no more need for iTunes to add music to my iPhone

+Damian Brown
can't I drop the music into sandisk then transfer it to my iPhone, then listen to the track on my phone without sandisk?
I returned, because wireless transfer of 1 GB took 10 minutes. It is not worth it
I do like this device but it won't play any DRM protected movies... eg: any purchased iTunes movies 😡
A witless ko password todna hei
