I ordered this as a flash drive not knowing what it really was. When I got it and opened the package and read about it I was amazed. I tried it right away and it downloaded pictures off my new Samsung S7 phone onto the drive with no glitches. How cool is this!!
Still loving the Sandisk Connect Wireless. I like using the 200GB or 256GB. I posted how to use it like a portable Plex Audio/Video Web Server accessing it video links from a Free Web Hosting site to be able to access it NAT IP links from any wifi and share its audio/videos with anyone on the same wifi up to 7 people depending on the network and videos resolution. So disappointed it is no longer being manufactured since it is so versatile.
I bought this Sandisk SDWS4, but so far I could only upload my MP3 files to "My Dwnlds" in the Sandisk SDWS4 application, but how can I upload it to the iPad's music library? - Actually, it allows uploads to only very limited, inflexible iPad folders. Is there any way to change or increase its upload folder destinations? Thx in advance for your helpful Info, Joh from Chile
+Utkarsh rajput, The SanDisk product page says up to 4.5 hours of continuous usage, but TechRadar found out that is based on only a single connected device. SanDisk support said up to 25 hours of standby time. It also takes two hours for a full charge. If it gets connected to a PC or other USB port that allows data, it turns off the WiFi. If it is connected to a battery pack or other USB port that supplies power and not data, the WiFi will stay on.
The biggest difference is, that you are in control of your data. Cloud storage is cool, of course. But I personally wouldn't want to upload personal documents to it that I regularly use. With the solution from sandisk it's like a personal cloud.
+Tony K. you dont need an internet connection, as you are connected directly to the device, so you can use it on the go, wherever you are, even without data volume of wifi.
A secure backup, where does it say there is encryption offered to files on the device and what kind of encryption? Would a password have to be enabled on the WiFi in order to attain "encryption mode", otherwise my data could be intercepted by a man-in-the-middle attack..
+Tony Ferber, I just bought one tonight to store data for my Galaxy 6 Edge+. There is a setting to set a password for the drive that is enabled by WPA2, there is another setting to turn anonymous sharing on or off. As far as having the data itself encrypted with like AES, it does not.

Hi, do you have to use a media player included with the sandisk app or can I use different media players on my mobile device to stream from the stick?
The files will be played directly from the sandisk app for the most pictures, music and videofiles.
