Ever since I first heard this song, I thought its movie version was much more captivating than the soundtrack version. So, before uploading it, I decided to wait for the movie release...but of course, the European French version drove me crazy to find it. Thanks again to Elsa's Ice Heart for providing me with the audio and checking the transcription of the spoken lines.
For the sake of completeness, a "bling-bling" is an all twinkling, shimmering, sparkling accessory or dress.

Adrien Antoine is also the French voice of Thor and Batman xD It was funny to hear him singing as Tamatoa xD
He did a great job though. It was nice to hear another voice than Olivier Constantin, Emmanuel Jacomy or Emmanuel Curtil.
Those 3 actors aren't used that much now though ^^ Especially for singing ^^ I'm just happy they indeed didn't call Olivier Constantin in all his dullness...

No it means he has no chance in fact because he keeps saying in the song that Maui is ugly and not shiny

Thank you for the translation :) I guess this one wasn't easy ^^ The only correction I could give is "Mon vieux" indeed means old man but here it's more like "my pal, my friend, dude"... When someone uses this expression it's a little mocking ^^

Oui, je sais que ça est la signification de "mon vieux" (il y à la même expression en italien), mais bien que les traductions que tu as conseillé rendent bien l'idée, j'ai pensé que dans cet passage-là il était important maintenir le mot "vieux". Car c'est comme s'il veuille dire "une fois tu étais plus agile, mais regarde-toi maintenant ! Tu t'as fait vieux, tu ne peux plus espérer faire concurrence à moi !". Voilà comme je l'ai perçu, au moins...

Canadian french and european french are different, have different accents and sometimes use different words.
