Ickess overall, servicing a differential is pretty much the same prodcure for all vehicles. If yours is a limited slip make sure to use friction modifier or you may hear chattering.
@@ickess just don't forget, I'll also clarify. For your specific differential the producure itself ie. the maintaince for the differential is basically the same, however since yours is an IRS you'll have to do an extra step or two. For the IRS part you'll have to search for that, once you finish what's required for the IRS then it should be pretty much the same.
ysoupset6228 for starters it's a limited slip rear differential. This is an older video, so I may be giving you misinformation. But, if I am correct I think it's part of the rear airbag suspension assembly.
esifoner a Lincoln Navigator and a Ford Expedition are basically the same thing, but with minor differences. This procedure will work on just about every vehicle, but since it's limited slip some parts may be different if yours isn't a limited slip such as the friction modifier for instance.
esifoner just to be clear, if you finished the process and you hear chattering, chances are it's a limited slip differential and friction modifier wasn't used.
Awesome. Will attempt this on my 02 EB Expedition.
Wow dude, great video and excellent description. Can't beat a Ford!
Great video! Happen to know if this is the same for an 03 expedition Eddie Bauer edition? 5.4L v8. Has 4 high and 4 low

Ickess I forgot to say, the 03 has an IRS rear end, other than having an IRS it's pretty much the same.
@@nightfall2681 thanks for the super fast reply! She has 116k miles and don’t think it’s ever been done.
@@ickess yeah, if she has that many miles it would be a good recommendation. Mine has about 230k and it's been done a few times.

Is there any other way to get the diff fluid out? Great video by the way
Zxmb place a container beneath the differential and remove the drain bolt. Make sure you don't lose the drain bolt.
What’s that top bar blocking it

ysoupset6288 it's also possible that it could either be part of the frame, sway bar or anti-sway bar depending on which you're referring to.
ysoulset6288 or it's also possible that it keeps the axle centered, I don't remember what it's called.
Similar to Lincoln Navigator 99??

My dodge magnum uses 75w140. Also
Cole Colwell a lot of vehicles use that fluid.
