Hiya just enjoyed another video from you I’m binge watching lol no choice sitting here with a broken foot bone. Anywhoo I did giggle at Vince moving the shed my partner would have done it the same lol. Careful not to get rid of the stumps, pallets etc can reuse repurposed in your allotment just a thought. Your lucky to have an allotment site that provides you with much needed garden goodies ex chip, manure & perfect water location, much needed I’m sure as I understand your enduring a heat wave across the pond. Stay cool 🐝🇨🇦
Hi Beverley, wishing you a speedy recovery, that must be very painful and uncomfortable for you! Hee hee yes Vince has a way of getting things done like your partner 😀 the allotment is great we have had lots of manure delivered the last few days but it has been too hot for me to move it to my plot as we are the other side of the allotment from the pile and yes we are having a heat wave in the UK, next week will be upwards of 40 degrees in some parts which for us is unheard of! Take care of yourself 😁
Great progress guys ! Well done 👍 Don't throw out those tree stumps or any pallets because a three bin pallet composter will save you hundreds of pounds in compost and is your most important resource for future years .The tree stumps will act as great weights and seats ..The reason people only use woodchip on paths is because it leaches nitrogen from the soil as it breaks down so do please be careful of using it as a mulch on beds 😊Loving watching you creating your plot .
Hi Susie, Thank You for the top tips 😃 Its so nice to have help and guidance, we are learning as we go which is the fun part, take care and Thanks again 😊
Same thoughts re pallets & tree stumps, the tree stumps could also cut into slices for use in foot paths table tops etc just a tip! Blessings luv Ontario Canada 🐝🇨🇦
Excellent job! 🙂 We would have done the same if we'd had access to a rotavator. Allotment plots can be very uneven and the last thing you want to do is turn your ankle. There are still paths on our plot that could do with levelling out but they can always be revisited. We had lots of bindweed when we started but with regular removal it weakens and dies away. It can be a pain to deal with in the first year or two but you soon start to notice there's less and less of it.
Hi David, we added more woodchip to the plot today to try and level the ground, its a lot lower at one end. Like you say I think this will be ongoing and we will just keep adding woodchip to level the plot. 😃
👨🌾🌼🌻🐝I love your allotment garden!! Your a great inspiration to me as I am also a gardener and TH-cam creator. I know You put a lot of work and love into growing your garden! All the hard work is worth it to me to get to see the new growth everyday it brings me so much joy! I’m starting to harvest some fruits and veggies. I still have so much to learn and I appreciate your tips, tricks! Please Keep sharing! I would love to learn more about gardening from each other.
The plots looking fab and your right about rotovating cuts weed roots smaller so you end up with more, but covering with cardboard, and then at least 50mm think wood chip should prevent 95% from returning. Must say your hubby or partner is a super-duper trooper. All the best.
Morning hope your both doing well. Strong like bull comes to mind watching hubby move the shed 😂😂. But you did the same thing I did last year filled up one of my compost bins with manure and I use the other on for “composting” and then I put a shovel full every once in a while into the regular compost to help break down any vegetation. Your doing a great job keep up the good work 👍👍👍. Have a fabulous week 🐝 safe
Wow 🤩 another great day on the plot. Can’t believe how much you got done … BIG JOBS TOO… & then you said Vince has to go to work 😅 I’d be shattered after all that 🤣🤣 💪🏻💪🏻 well done both of you 💪🏻💪🏻
Thank You Jo! I think we probably have 1 more day of clearing/flattening/covering etc then we will be ready for the next stage of layout and where to put what and then finally planting! I know Vince is amazing he has so much energy, thanks for your support 😀
Hi Annabelle ☺️ The Woodchip is delivered directly to our allotment site, we are very lucky! There is always plenty and delivery's are very regular. Happy Friday 😊

We call it a tiller
Its a great machine!
The transport wheel at front of the till needs to be in the up position 😂
Lol our plot neighbour leant it to us but it was new and he didn't know how to use it either 😅
@@GemInTheGarden every day is a learning day 💪we building
Enjoying watching this playlist. How did you get so much wood chip to the allotment?
Hi Annabelle ☺️ The Woodchip is delivered directly to our allotment site, we are very lucky! There is always plenty and delivery's are very regular. Happy Friday 😊
Can I ask why you put down cardboard first and then chippings?
Hi Deborah, its to suppress any weeds and create woodchip walkways between the beds :o)
