    I got a band 8.5 for the listening part (from the first attempt). I didn’t have any step by step guide. The thing is that every video in my recomendation feed is in English. In videos people speak a bit faster than on the IETLTS recording, I benefited from that. That’s it

    I have sit for the ielts mock exam for the first time ever in my life. There were ups and downs on the overall mock exam.Firstly I was late 10 mins after the listening exam started so I missed a couple of answers for which I got a bit stressed out and sitting for the first time in Listening in a loud speaker format made me more frustrated. But the positive side was I have answered all the other questions without leaving a single answer both in Listening and Reading. In reading I have done well despite of the last passage where I had to do guess work with majority of the answers due to timing issue. And writing was quite good, finally in Speaking I got 7.25 although I was hoping for an 8 band score in here. Now seeking some advices from the experienced persons to do more well in the real test and specially in Listening under loudspeaker system. Thanx.

    When I watch movies, I find out that people in movies aren't talking authentic like in real life. There are many expressions that we don't use those in our daily life. For instance, are you kidding me, are you for real, for the record, keep me posted, it's on the house, let bygones be bygones, make a long story short. All I'm trying to say is I assure you most of us don't understand those phrases. What do you recommend to us

    • @Ieltsadvantage
      @Ieltsadvantage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there, if you lose focus when listening, or you aren't able to pay attention to the important information when listening, it may be because:
      1. You need to improve your vocabulary. If you don't know enough words, you will not be able to follow what the speaker is saying.
      2. You are not used to listening to English for a long period of time, and so your mind starts to wander. In this case, try listening to podcasts or audiobooks.

    Is there any way, where the highlighting of the text speed can be increased during listening test? As we are aware that the current method to highlight the keyword in the question, is to first select the word and then right click and then select highlight, which I feel is time consuming to do for each and every keywords.And it becomes really difficult if it is Multiple choice question where even the options keyword has to be highlighted. At times I run out of the time in doing so.If anyone has any tips kindly share, will be grateful for it.

    Hello Chris,
    Very informative and helpful tips . Just one question, is it very important to focus on the format I answer my question, for example , if the answer is Number 12, but if I write it as ‘ twelve’ should that be crossed as wrong, or let’s say I forget to put “. - “ between two words. How about beginning the name, place or a thing with a capital letter, is that really significant?

      Hi there, either way of writing the number will be accepted and your answer will be marked as correct whether you've used the appropriate capital letters or not. However, if you have issues with capitalization, you will still need to address these for the writing test so please don't avoid improving this area if necessary. Hope this helps. Hlo sir!
    I have a question.
    When there is a word limit of three , how do we choose the correct answer? Like, using the adjective or not?
    For example, in the test , it was said “short casual rides ” . So I wrote that. But the answer was short rides/casual rides.
    Thank you!

    Hello Sir, Ca we write all the answers in the reading and listening section in capital letters in the answer sheet?

    • @Ieltsadvantage
      @Ieltsadvantage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, if you want to use all capital letters in listening and reading that is fine, but you should not use all capital letters in the writing test and you should be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the rules of capitalisation in order to score well in grammar and punctuation.

    Thank you so much, Chris! The video was genuinely beneficial and eye-opening to me as someone who has never taken the IELTS exam before (just Toeic, actually).
    So, I wonder during the test, should I just read the questions and then try to match what I heard with the given alternatives? Or I better read both, the questions and the answers, before the recording starts? The latter can be pretty confusing. And every so often, I end up struggling to finish reading all the questions when I do it.

      Without professional help, it is very difficult to know where you are lacking.
      What you need is feedback on your progress. You need a skilled IELTS expert to show you the simple and effective strategies to get the scores you need. That's one of the many great things about our course. You will be provided with detailed personal feedback, shown your errors, and given a clear and simple structure on how to fix them.
      If this is something you might be interested in, please provide us with your email address.
