I didn’t think about using the bucket on my tractor for my potting. Great tip..
Glad it was helpful!
What medium did you use to start propagation before potting up ?
I’m amazed at how well rooted they are.
It’s just Spring now in PNW and wondering if I could trim some now to start propagation while it’s cool?
Lately I've been using PRO-MIX BX All Purpose Growing and pine bark fines. This has worked the best for me. These are also very easy to find in most areas.
Will you provide any protection for the cuttings you transplanted into gallon containers during their first winter, or will they be placed outside to "harden off" ?
Thanks for the videos !
Places outside, they will go dormant and should be fine.
They look great. Can the cuttings be propogated now that it is getting cold?
This would not be the best time. The cuttings need to be taken from the bush right after fruiting has finished. This is when you will start to see a lot of new fresh growth on the bushes. These are what you need to take your cuttings from. The wood has not harden yet and is better for propagation.
@@SeedsofPromise Great... Thank you so much... We just bought a property in PA and it came with 8 bushes of blueberries. Not sure what variety but they are about 5 to 6 feet tall. The ph of soil was neutral so I just amended the soil with acidifer. I'll grab some cuttings to propogate. Can I propogate in growlight in doors and manually sprinkling them every day or so? Lover your setup BTW...
I've never tried that but I'm sure if you can keep the right conditions it shouldn't be a problem. I would create some type of a humidity dome so that you wouldn't have to mist them throughout the day.
I love Mr and Mrs chip
Have you tried to air Layer propagate
No, it would be interesting to try. I may try late summer and see how they do.
Are these hard, or soft root cuttings..
Soft. I usually will take the growth after fruiting has finished. In our area this is around mid August.
You didn’t show how you initially propagated the original cuttings.
