Never too late if you're still feeling the urge to try! My mom just started her PhD and she's turning 70 this year haha. Remember that there's funding out there for mature students as well as high schoolers.

Girl, you’re not too old. You will see all ages in your class. There were students in my class in between 20-50 years old! Just get started!!!
