Sorry, people who do physical labor need to work out to keep their muscles in balance. Otherwise, enjoy being a bent over old person where the discs in your spine squeeze out on the dorsal side. Need to stretch the anterior ligament of your spine. Doing physical work is NOT at all good for correct body mechanics. There is a reason people became old by 40.
People need to work out properly to be able to do this type of work correctly without shortening your time being able to use your body to do physical work. Farming is not a good workout. Just saying...

This is a great detailed video. I have a biology background so I could follow what was going on. I have grown many fungi in solid (and liquid) culture in my time including on an orbital incubator that was swishing the conical flask culltures around. I love doing all that stuff, loads of fun. Weirdest culture medium was porridge agar (well I am in Scotland!) to grow a specific fungal parasite of strawberries. I tell a lie! The strangest has to be a soaking wet paperback book and some toilet rolls to grow ( I think) Oyster or Shitake mushrooms. :-) I have been looking at the heaps of chipped trees and bushes left behind by tree surgeons and wondering could these chips be sterilised and used for culturing mushrooms? This video has just encouraged me! PLus the plant girl really knows her stuff. I have tried wood sorrel and a few other things like pignut. Great video as I said.

I pick wild mushrooms around September that grow in my garden, they taste nothing like commercial mushrooms, they are so much better, but only last two three weeks. I was miserable before I found them but after eating them I am now a fungi to be around.

Then, as I continued to watch, I realized that she was very knowledgeable about edible flowers and plants in the local environment.
Finally, I was impressed by how sweet her personality is.

It made me cringe to see you grinding up that straw. Even though you have a face mask it is a cheapy and will not protect you from the dust. My Dad died from emphysema and it was not pretty to watch. A good respirator will lengthen your life.

That's not a sterile room, it's a fruiting room, don't you think sometimes there are flies on your fruits and veggies while they're growing? There usually isn't a sterile room on a small scale mushroom farm to my knowledge, wherever you're doing your inoculations is going to be the most sterile room, but still not anything like a lab grade sterile room.
