    Sound level went up and down a bit too noticeably. The sound people obviously need more experience. But the playing is superb. A very difficult instrument to master. Best wishes to her for a great career in performance.

    what does physical built of a person got to do with his prowess over an instrument?

    • @KaushikSarkarVer.1.0
      @KaushikSarkarVer.1.0 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot : Men are taller and therefore have easier reach over the fretboard, and can play many complex phrases with easier flourish ( as Dr. Majumdar said) compared to smaller built women. Besides, it must be remembered, the instrument was designed & built by men, for men.
      However, physical built does not have EVERYTHING to do with prowess, Riddhiman. Otherwise we would not be watching this video.
      Beethoven was deaf by 30, y'know.

    Sarod is a beautiful instrument, but Sitar is always the king instrument. It can’t reach the sitar.

    • @RK-li7bk
      @RK-li7bk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jijo2002 you are right. Every instrument has its own beauty (if played properly) which cannot be compared with any other. Any music lover would listen and enjoy variety of instruments, their may be few personal preferences though.

      I play sitar so it’s my favorite, but why compare what is “better”? It’s like saying a pure vibrant magenta hue is better than cool shimmering turquoise

      Ivan: You are playing a fretless guitar like instrument as if had frets! Redundant and possibly tone deaf. Try listening to Vasant Rai on fretless guitar. Best!

      As her son, i feel that uneducated armchair critiques need to be educated. Not only is the sarod much harder to play than the sitar, trying to play it in a higher speed/laya is even more difficult. You arent just disrespecting her as an artist, you are disrespecting the art itself by giving no consideration to the amount of time and effort it has taken to produce a performance of ten minutes. Why dont you try almost 10 years of practice. I suppose you have practiced the sarod for years and then have been invited to the ted x stage to perform as well havent you? You speak as if you know how to play it. And on top of that she is a woman artist playing an instrument predominantly played by men.
