    This happened to my mother in her early 80s and she ended up in the hospital with dementia. They discovered she had a urinary tract infection. She started seeing a urologist-gynecologist who put her on vaginal estrogen cream, which is safer than estrogen pills. This keeps her urinary tract in better shape. She also monitors herself with strips that show any infection. There has been no dementia since then.

      Thank you so much for sharing that. UTI's are such a common issue amongst older folks. I'm so glad your mom got the solution AND better than that, she's actually following up and taking care of herself! Awesome.
