I can't find the interview at the moment (I think it's on the blu ray special features, I'll try to find it later), but Brian Tyree Henry's performance was based on Adam Wingard for the conspiracy stuff, hair style and general behavior patterns. I mean obviously don't take what I say as truth just because it is said, but there is a specific example I can cite through slashfilm's piece on how Wingard's own psychedelic experiences influenced a Bernie dialogue (NOTE: specifically the turning into water bit during the HEAV scene) At the very least that is one example of Bernie weirdness that comes from Adam and not being a racist caricature, and that article has existed since March 29th, so basically I think anyone making this accusation of racism needs to go through all of his dialogue to see if it's more racist or Wingard (otherwise it is in bad faith to conclude it), and these guys have had long enough to do so. It seems to me they don't care (I can't fairly conclude that yet tbf), and it says more about them that they can't fathom a Black character being goofy without him being a racial caricature than about Bernie

I do agree with most of the stuff you counterargued. Though as you know most people like the 3 people you brought up really could care less about their double standards or their bad faith criticisms. Which sometimes I feel like "Why even bother watching the movie if you're not going to like it?" Though while I do agree with not insulting your audience (Even though with people like me, it's easier said than done since we're pretty stubborn and do the tit for tat method in retorting), it doesn't excuse the fans to act equally as savage back since it's only confirming older generations views on seeing us millennials and generation Z us as entitled and spoiled. Which is the reason why I roll my eyes anytime someone brings up a criticism over the controversial Snow White, which I feel there's a whole bunch of double standards in the fandoms that need addressing.
To be fair, I would argue humans in general are entitled and spoiled by nature (not all of us act like that but they're behaviors humans show so much you may as well say it's hardwired into us now as emotions) so older generations can't entirely say younger generations are entitled and spoiled when they too act like that as well. Double standards on both ends unfortunately
Going by the critiques, this guy sounds like a typical alt-right grifter that complains that a woman is the main character in a movie instead of a big, muscly guy but what gets me is that he calls GxK bad but likes the Meg 2 which by the trailers does not at all look anywhere close to GxK in terms of quality and again, insulting people that like it is really not a good look.
11:19 No one involved in the production of The Phantom Menace told George Lucas that JarJar was a bad idea is because by the time TPM entered production, Lucas was surrounding himself exclusively with fanboys & yes men who would never dream of telling the almighty Lucas that any of his ideas were bad... even though ALL of his ideas were garbage at that point.
Not really, there behind the scenes of the doc that showed other creatives disagreeing with Lucas and giving insight. Hell the final fight being cut between Anakin and Maul fight, they are saying it’s too confusing tone. And even George was agreeing with them. But it’s too late to change it. TPM was just a case of creatives simply thought the ideas they had were good. But they weren’t.

Also, I think he got the idea that the Iwi should have conquered the whole world with they're advanced gravity-manipulating technology from the criticism of Black Panther that the winning tribe should have conquered all of Africa, if not the whole world, due to them having the flower power thingy, but they chose not to because they're incompetent. But that's assuming that just because you have some sort of advantage, you have to capitalize on it to conquer everything else around you, otherwise it's pointless to just have it. The Fire Nation didn't start invading the other nations until Sozin had a vision of expanding his nation due to a sense of pride and superiority. But the Iwi as we see them in the MonsterVerse were never war mongering nor want to conquer other people, they're written to be very harmonious with nature. And if they tried to stop Skar King and his army just by themselves with their gravity inversion tactic, that's not going to stop Skar King and his minions from reaching the portal.
The Iwi don’t exactly come across as much as advanced society besides the gravity stuff. They don’t seem to have the opportunity to invade others if they could. Seems like they are still struggling to survive in Hollow Earth.

I liked the movie but the close ups and some of the weird mannerisms that the monsters do kinda pull me back from truly enjoying the movie and having the monsters in comedic scenes is also strange for a great kaiju movie.
@@KingBearmane how are the monsters strange doing comedic scenes when fans literally make memes of the kaiju themselves?.
@@Kaiju-bm4ts Fair enough with that statement.

For jarjar to be a racist stereotype you would need the other gungans and gungun society to also be. We see a lot of impressive things from the gungans in episode 1. It is simpler to just say jarjar is what he is, an outcast because he is a goody accidenr prone wellmeaning moron
Yeah Antrim reason on why gxk is the worse movie is not only shit but also misleading.
Always treat reviews from someone embedded in the culture war with two grains of salt

I cannot say I will ever be a fan of this movie. It has nothing to offer anyone who isnt a hardcore Kong fan, as even in terms of pure entertainment, it's chopped up slop. The fights are so incoherent and full of NOTHING that it left me bored beyond belief. The complete and utter lack of a reason for Godzilla to be in the movie, the forced mashing of two movie scripts to force them to be, the lack of any consistency with the style of Godzilla vs Kong despite being made by the same team, and how the antagonists just SUCK at being antagonists and fail to sell the threat and stakes (of which there are none since we dont see the effects of their actions on the human populace. There are so many ways to screw up a Kaiju movie meant for enterntainment value and they managed to do every one of them.
