    Awesome ride there. I got my 2014 Challenger RT Classic in February 2019 for $24k and it had 17,000 miles on it. Has 35,000 now and general maintenance has been done when needed (oil changes, etc). Not had any problems other than me smiling ear-to-ear when driving it. These 5.7s are better than what people say they are.

If you ever need to do head gaskets, screw paying $1500 to $2000 for that. it'll cost you about $400 TOPS to do it yourself. First time mechanic can do it. 178000 miles on my 2008 3.5l v6 Charger. I DRIVE IT (always take the racing line) every-single-day, as my commute is my gotdang Zen moments…
    Block, pistons, rockers, lifters, cams, transmission, body are all strong and show no signs of imminent failure.
    Issues are as expected: bushings, struts and shocks, a/c, timing, injectors, sensors here and there, etc…

It came with the Alpine system which was junk so I upgraded the entire audio system and added an Northstar AGM battery. I maintain my car on a strict oil change time line. Needs brakes (my fault). Had uconnect replaced by dealer under warranty, value 700. Trunk button doesn’t work, not fixing. New rack and pin/2 transaxels by dealer before buying, 1400. That sounds like a lot, but I’m into it for under 3k, and paid 12k. Can’t find them for under 20 right now. And I beat my cars hard. Already had it over 120 several times and 130 once. The plus has some crazy options like heated/cooled seats and cup holders, plus more and all works perfect. The sound and power, 100% would recommend and buy again if I had too

I looked at 10 - 15 Charger RT and Challenger RT and ended up getting a 2013 Charger RT with 130k because it was the cleanest. Coolant reservoir and air filter are good indicators of how its been taken care of. Im a bit over 150k hard miles and shes loving it. Installed new suspension, Long tube headers, SLP catback, Getrag 3.91 LSD, Legmaker CAI, MSD coil packs, a HemiFever 93 tune. Do you have any mods at all, or is it completely stock? Dodge did a DAMN good job of tuning their cars. Only if you did crazy mods, would I suggest that you need tuning.
      Tuning is a bit more difficult. Its best to find a tuning shop in your city to handle your tunes after you mod your car. If you don't want to take it to them, you can have them do email tunes, and you'd need that $500 diablo tuner to be able to import the tunes they email you. Its a bit less quick that way, but after time, it will be right. You'd have to report back to them what the car IS doing and what its NOT doing. Id suggest taking it to a tuner so they can Dyno it as they tune it! Thats the best route.

      @@terrylee773 I just made the swap to Synthetic 5w20 High Mileage and the Mopar oil filter for mine. Ive got 130k Miles. I was skeptical on putting synthetic in my car at first, but it actually really is good. It lasts WAY longer and takes more abuse. After 5k miles, my oil doesn't look or feel like it needs to be replaced. Ive always changed at 5k miles. It just feels like a complete waste of oil and money to do at 3k. Its nowhere near ready. The inside of my engine is super clean as well which was a shock. I got it at 80k after it was used for a rental company apparently. I expected complete shit, but it was spotless when I opened it up. So I've been doing careful maintenance on it even since to keep it that way haha.

    Dodge Ram Hemi's have 2 spark plugs per cylinder. I'd be changing those out at 100K.

    How has your 8spd Trans been treating you I have a 15 chrysler 300s 5.7 and the shifting is a Lil off

      Honestly, when it first starts there is a little hesitation from first to second, but it’s been like that since I got it 4 years ago. That 8 speed is a ZF transmission. Very good and reliable especially at our power levels. I used to ride in sport mode a lot and rode it hard and it’s held up well

    did you get a extended warranty? I have a 2019 rt with 34,000. 3 year warranty is expiring. dont know if I should for another 5 years. lowest quote I had was 1800$ for 5 years or 75k miles.

    Are you saying it’s burning through tires under normal driving conditions? Or are you like burning out and sliding it?

    • @4kjay347
      @4kjay347  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I mean under normal driving conditions. The car is heavy, and the engine has low end torque. I never participated in the jigab👻 Olympics

    I found a 2018 R/T with 77k miles, so nearly 20k miles a year (started new as a rental. Its in my budget, is it too much miles to buy?

    • @4kjay347
      @4kjay347  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think the miles are too crazy. Just remember that people beat the crap out of rentals, although they are maintained well. Keep that in mind

    i’ve got a 2017 R/T i’ve had for a year and half , got it at 63k now it’s at 87k. just getting into the higher numbers that fast are worrying me if it’s just gonna die out , trans sometimes will feel like it’s taking a second but no problems i’ve needed maintenance on. i just take so many trips is that gonna damage my car or just the value on the market ? cause i don’t ever plan on giving her up 😭😭

    • @4kjay347

      The 5.7 is a strong, reliable motor. The police run them 24/7 for years then they get sold and driven for years to come. The zf 8 speed transmission is a good trans. It’s in a bunch of different makes and models. Just make sure you get the oil changed regularly and perform the maintenance on it and it will last you a long time!
