for me the best ideas are coming when I "Switch off" from this world and reconnect with nature. i live in mountains small village and the best ideas are coming when I go for a walk to the forest or just seat on the terrace and listen to birds singing etc. Don't know why, how but that are the best places for me. Then I get soo many ideas that is crazy.
"But if we're always fixated on the big things in our lives, chances are we'll spend a large portion of our lives dissatisfied." Wow.... I needed that.
Woaaahh! I've been binge-watching your videos for hours already!! Thank you for being an inspiration! 6 years on TH-cam and I never thought I'd be this eager to learn something new again - in this case - about cinematography, not until I came across one of your videos. ❤
I recently started working for myself, and find that the constant pressure to always be "on", and working, is very detrimental to my creativity. So I'm also learning to let go of trying to "produce" in some moments, and focus on absorbing. Thank you for sharing:)
when you talked about taking a walk outside i realized it's been a while since i last touched grass 😭 not a videographer but i do write for a living, and i'm stumped. delighted to make this journey with you ❤
My observation is that the mind is better when doing things. Apathy and a helpless state of being take over the mind when nothing gets done, undone work causes stress - not doing things. The motivation to do usually comes after starting, one shouldn't wait for inspiration.
i fall in love with ur dedications, efforts, creativity, concepts, implementations, cinematic, tones, all of it idk how to say it anymore! thanks riza, ur brighten up my day! everyday..!
I discover your acount a few months ago only for casuality AND i can say that i really enjoy your videos the way you create them Its Amazing you inspire myself in differents ways as a girl who Is new in 20s i want to thank you because you remember me that everything Is a process
Software engineer here. Was feeling tired and frustrated because I'd planned to do some work today. This video makes me feel a little better. I'll incorporate some ideas into my routine as well.
I’ve never be the kind of person that takes pictures or film anything but her videos are so unique and inspiring that now I want the TH-cam channel that I was trying to start to look at least 1% like this. Absolutely amazing job 🤩
The underlying theme to this episode is 'using self care to catalyze inspiration'. I can really relate, little changes to the ordinary, be it a walk, a little someone to improve ones personal space, or drawing inspiration for creators with other focuses (music, books, etc). Thanks for your inspirations, by keeping it real. Great ordinary story telling.
100% feel you on the need to get away from creating to feel creative sometimes! Always find the best inspiration comes when I’ve had time to just do life ✨
The shot where the light rays were beaming on your shelf with the camera and the little head figure was immaculate. Thanks for the super calm and relaxing video riza, super inspiring. Hi Colt we love you too !!
3:04 During this period, my colleagues have been going through difficult times. One of them has had their spouse in the ICU for over two weeks, and another is dealing with mental health issues. As a creative person, I thrive on the freedom to do my work, but I've had to take on extra responsibilities to help out. This has significantly increased my stress levels. Despite the mounting deadlines and communication gaps I need to fill, I understand that my colleagues need me now more than ever. So, I've made a conscious effort to continue my cycling routine, even when I feel overwhelmed. I've come to realize that taking some "play time" is essential. It may seem counterintuitive, and I sometimes feel guilty, but I've learned to prioritize what truly matters.
Best ideas usually come when you’re most relaxed. Seeking out new experiences every now and then or breaking out routine can be helpful and refreshing. A bit change now and then help us notice things that we otherwise wouldn’t. Sometimes, it seems like a waste of time to waste on something that seemingly less important or little. However, if we are always fixated on the big things in our lives, chances are that we will spend a large portion of our time dissastified.
Oh man, I got this book like a couple of months ago, but I haven't started yet. However, Rick Rubin is such an inspirational to unlock creativity and getting out from creative block. Gotta start reading for it!
This helped me so much in finding inspiration when I feel lost now after college. Struggling which path to take and just feeling unmotivated after rejection after rejection in job applications. You remind me how I can stay focused and find inspiration in the small things in life, and those small things are the things that truly matters the most. Thank you!
Could I just say that, your videos have such a cozy comfy vibe. I'm currently trying to vlog as well, so watching your videos gives me hope that even the simple videos work too. Thanks Riza!
Kariza! You are truly an inspiration. I love how beautifully humble and honest you are. Your focus on making moments count, figuring it out, and finding beauty in the simplicities of life is so admirable, and the ways in which you grow and inspire growth in others is amazing. Aside from being an incredible and unique storyteller, you’re also a genuinely wonderful and unique person. You truly are one of those people who makes everyone around them so much better just by being themself. So thank you!
I love how well thought out and intentional your content is. It’s inspiring. So proud of you for being gentle with yourself to not force yourself to just pump out content but to let inspiration lead you.
while I agree with many comments here about cinematography, style, intentions... I must say how just aesthetically pleasant you are yourself. Little piece of cutenesses as well. All the best to you on your journey!
Hiii Riza! Can't wait for the video!! Riza, you are an amazing TH-camr and one of my most favorites! I love your content, your editing so so so much and I absolutely love your calming voice and the way you tell everything! it feels like I'm watching a movie, you seriously deserve so so much. I found your channel 2 or 3 months ago and I'm so grateful that I did. You have such a positive energy and you are such an inspiration for so many people. I hope your channel grows super fast, and more more people watch your videos. I love Cinematography too but I always used to wonder how I'll make those types of videos or take cinematic pictures and after watching you, I was confident enough to start and I took so so many pictures. Riza these words may not be enough to tell you how amazing you are and how helpful and calming your content is but I hope you get an idea of what I mean and I hope your channel reaches more people. love, Mary
This reminds me somewhat of Yuriko Saito's discussion about everyday aesthetics and the concept of wabi-sabi, love your vids btw and hope things go well!
This is the first video I've seen of hers and I already love her and her video style. Props to you for making mundane tasks so fun to watch. I took notes on what you said and will try and apply some of these to my life
hi, riza! just wanted to drop by and show some love 🫶🏽 you have inspired me to make videos again and reignite that passion so thank youuu ! hope all works out well for you and keep going ✨
I got those exact same candles. Pro tip: Take the batteries out when you store them after the season. The corrode for some reason. Keep going! I think your content has gotten me out of a creative rut. I’ve read and listened to the creative act. Good to have in your arsenal for sure. 💪🏽
I’m so curious for more of you. Please more backstory of how and where you grew up, family stories, previous endeavors, other interests, etc. JUST MORE! 😋😘
Hello, I'm from China and I'm trying to become a content creator. The first time I saw your video, I was attracted by your appearance, composition, and background color, which brought me a lot of inspiration. Gradually, I found that your expressiveness, editing, and article structure are all worth learning. I am very happy to be able to When I meet you, I wish you can create better content. (These are translated by Google for me, I hope they can be understood)
i love how your videos never made me wanna buy stuff even if you show the stuff you bought. it feels like art more than the usual content that i see on youtube. definitely, your channel has been my favorite in the past few months ❤
I read The Creative Act earlier this year and it literally spoke to my soul. Like you said: super relatable. Arguably my favorite book of all time. I keep it on my desk and occasionally open it to a random page when I'm in a rut, a bad mood, a good mood, or it's just been a while... and every. single. time - whatever I open it to is always relevant to the situation. It's almost spooky at this point. I gasped when I saw the book in your thumbnail. Super happy you caved!
It's interesting that you talk about a time of curiosity and play because I feel like sometimes we just feel this pressure to "make art" and to "create" but we don't give ourselves time to really think and absorb and learn and most importantly, to play. Like actually play, not scroll through Netflix or social media absorbing nothing in particular type of play. Thanks for the bit of inspiration, and I hope your writer's block goes away! P.S. another book that everyone's reading is "The Artist's Way", which I'm reading and going through right now, and I have been finding it really helpful in my... well, the author calls it "creative recovery". Maybe you can check it out!
Just wanted to come here and say that I’ve been truly inspired by your videos and I’m going to be starting my own channel soon. So honestly thank you 🫶🏽
Your videos are a few of the videos that I don't just play in the background while I work on something else. I actually watch your videos and do nothing else. Hehe... Love your work!
Can't wait 🥺 thank you for creating such great content with brilliant cinematography and editing. One of your videos, i think it was "how i'm setting goals for 2022" helped me with my mental health on a certain day and i'm grateful to you for that :)
I felt nostalgia with this intro, I thought I was back as a kid in front of a movie and I loved it, this is why Il love youtube ! Thanks for your videos.
Just like you said you could've used The Creative Act three weeks ago, I could have definitely used this three weeks ago. Thanks for inspiring me today
this truly spoke to my soul. I've been in a creative rut before going on vacation and now being back, feeling more inspired is great - and I live in Scandinavia which gets quite dark and gloomy for a great period of time, so I'm glad to come back to this masterpiece now and then whenever the writers block strikes again. thank you, Riza :)
This video is a wonderful reminder that inspiration can be found in the simplest moments of our everyday lives. It's all about taking the time to appreciate the beauty in the ordinary and finding joy in the little things.
Is it just me who can't get enough of all her masterpieces, that I end up rewatching the other videos with each new upload?😂❤ Thank you for your hard work Riza, your work is truly inspirational🤍✨
i just love how you are always able to make everything seem super cinematic sticking to the film making techniques yet having your own flair :) can't wait to watch more ! thank you for showing your art to the world :)
Been procrastinating on my channel for years- thank you for reminding me to overthink less with each video you upload. Inspiring me to get to where you and Colt are!
Oh you're in Canada! I just moved in rural Ontario from Québec and I was thinking about starting filming just for fun since I'm without work for now. I binged watch your videos and I really appreciate all the tips you gave in them while I could enjoy your beautiful cinematographic shots and your calming narration. You're truly an inspiration. Great video! 😁
The fact that I thought I'm going to sleep being sad, then suddenly I saw your video! It immediately made me scream! Always love your content, atee Riza! I'm still a film student who's still got a lot to learn, but you're one of my inspirations for why I keep pursuing my dream of being a filmmaker! Thank you, Atee!
Riza, you have inspired me so much and your way of storytelling is what i wish to incorporate in my work. Just the simplicity and it is so beautiful. And so different. Keep it up and best of luck
Hi Riza! You're my favourite channel! Honestly, you're proof that we don't necessarily need clickbaity titles and thumbnails. When I saw that you uploaded a video, I clicked right away knowing it's gonna be a good watch. I'm just a fan I guess! Your cinematography is reallyyyyyyy amazing in that everything looks so simple and yet so cinematic! Your delivery, the music, the ambience of your videos, I just love everything. Honestly I was losing motivation and pretty much gave up on my TH-cam, and then I saw your video "How to film yourself and look cinematic" and I cannot thank you enough for that video! Not just for inspiring me again to restart my journey but also because it's the video that made me find you. Thank you Riza! Also I'm glad you're feeling better and crossing my fingers your writer's block wouldn't cause you trouble anymore! ❤
I found you through the video by Sean Alami and it's mindblowing seeing how far vlogs on youtube have come with this piece being the best vlog I have ever gotten to watch. It's mindbending to think this is actually not a movie but your actual life because it blends the cinematographic aspects and the authentic life events so seamlessly.
Literally from watching first few seconds of your videos, I already know the production quality and values are off the charts! This is absolutely amazing, I'm very much thankful that you take your time to shoot rather mundane scenes (but you've probably started to love them) though those tiny shots really set the mood for everything and those small things about your videos are what sparks to me! Thank you very much for such great storytelling and a fresh perspective!
Hi Kariza 👋, Another awesome video! It’s so true that the secret to finding inspiration and creating things is really to let go of control and perfectionism and instead embrace curiosity and spontaneity, which is something I’m glad I have learned and am still learning as I go through my journey of creativity as well as that of life. Sending you lots of love!!! ❤️❤️❤️🤗

Who gets inspired by just the simplicity of the wind? 🍃
Yes… ❤
I like that outlook
Yea man. Pair it with the song "Strangers" by Kenya Grace playing in your headphones and it feels like you're unstoppable.
YES!!! ❤
American Beauty anyone? 😂

BEST COMMENT I was channelling stars hollow :’)

yesss exactly!!!
Inspiration always comes from just going out, seeing the world and being active.
00:08 - magnificent shot! The unexpectedness, the right amount of DOF, everything!

I absolutely love the way you capture these moments and put them into a video that’s so perfectly edited.

the 6:28 shot, literally capturing the entire motto and investment of a creator's life

Hi Kariza 👋,
Another awesome video! It’s so true that the secret to finding inspiration and creating things is really to let go of control and perfectionism and instead embrace curiosity and spontaneity, which is something I’m glad I have learned and am still learning as I go through my journey of creativity as well as that of life.
