    The key to the aluminum handle is that it transfer heat so well the dust pan contents may light on fire just by holding it, thereby cancelling the need to every throw it in the garbage.

    • @physicsguybrian
      @physicsguybrian 4 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      If your hand was at a high enough temperature to conduct enough heat energy through the handle to ultimately ignite the saw dust (forget about metals), you'd have bigger problems than debris on your floor.

    • @darkshadowsx5949

      @Hand Tool Rescue
      The "heat transfer" effect is heat energy spreading throughout the body of the metal not pushing it into another. heat conductivity is a better term.
      heat sinks are aluminum because they draw heat away from a hotter source into the aluminum. then fans disperse heat from the surface of the aluminum into surrounding air.
      they dont make the cpu and other things hotter that would be stupid.

I was so intrigued that I immediately got out to buy all the sheet metal, plywood, hammers, glues, clamps, torches, temperature checking ink stuff etc. from the hardware store to make myself one... When looking for everything needed, I saw something with the corner of my eye that rocked my world; A dust pan made out of plastic! Even with a pre-installed handle, if you can believe me...Yes, they had them just laying there, and at the risk of making this story even unbelievable, I'll tell you that they had them in different colors too... I was so blown away with this miracle find that I ended up leaving everything and buying the fascinating plastic one. Granted, I paid a lot of hard earned cash, maybe triple the cost of making myself one, but it is plastic and it is red! (The guy said red ones were multipurpose, good for both aluminum and steel chips!)

    It was my first experience at seeing what an English wheel can do, and how easily it all seems. It makes me question who invented such a simple machine, and why did they even think it would ever work.
    Even the use of a hammer, it's not only the size of the hammer, or how hard you hit something with it, but knowing the exact spot to hit.
    The handle is a work of art to.

I imagine myself going 60 mph down the highway with a 40 ton dozer on behind and having the top of my cab frizby off into the oncoming.... but this morning, as is so...so... fantastically appropriate, ToT appears in my hand with Ron Covelle!
