  • On the 3rd of July 2018. Thirty-three-year-old nurse, Lucy Letby who had been in charge of caring for
vulnerable young children, was arrested at her home. Her reign of terror had come to an end, but
she left behind her a trail of destruction and devastation that will never be forgotten.

I’m just as appalled with the hospital for brushing aside and practically ignoring the actions of this woman as I am with her. One example of many: They suspected her of hurting babies so they just moved her to a different section of the hospital? Are you kidding me? The people in charge at this hospital have blood on their hands too. This could have been stopped far sooner and many of these babies would still be alive.

This happens much more often than any of us will ever know! Sometimes they can't prove they were doing it intentionally and literally let them keep doing it! To try and catch them! Sick isn't it? Other times they can't prove it and they'll just fire the person and said person can sometimes go to other hospitals or clinics and practice.

I worked in Neonatal care during my training and the babies there are the most vulnerable of all vulnerable patients. They are so desperately fragile and needy. I cannot imagine ANYONE doing them deliberate harm, never mind a nurse. Nursing is a position of trust. Perhaps the greatest trust of all as we are talking about life and death and patients putting their health and lives in our hands. This woman has destroyed lives, devastated famiies and betrayed and shamed the entire nursing workforce with her disgusting actions. I hope she rots in prison.

Hole in the heart and nobody knew until then ! Long story /short ! My beautiful baby girl Maria came through it all and is a credit to us as she has turned out ! She's well mannered and will do anything for anyone ! Wants to be a nurse ! My point is Lucy Letby is an evil monster ! But she is an evil monster in her own because the rest of the Nurses all around the country are Beautiful Angels as far as I'm concerned ? The love and support me and my wife got when we thought we were losing our baby was incredible ! And the care and work these nurses do for our babies in terrible situations is second to none and I really can't express how grateful I am ! I'd trust these Nurses with my baby anyday if the week because there in the safest hands in the world ! people who's babies are very poorly will now probably be keeping a very close eyes on nurses around there Babies and get a bit paranoid ? With just cause after such a high profile case like Letbys ! But don't because Letby was just a needle you don't want to find in a haystack ? Our Beautiful nurses who look after our babies are the best in the world and I adore every one of you ! Thank you all ! Much luv and Respect ! 👍💗🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

what is more disturbing than anything else, is that in each of these nurse or doctor killer cases the hospital staff are aware of things far before any action is taken to stop the killing. Just to try and save face and save some money they all put the lives of people ahead of what they really should be doing by investigating things long before more people become victims. If you ask me everyone involved in these cases should face jail time and large fines. If it's your job to over see staff working on a ward and that staff member's actions leads to them committing a crime, then they are just as responsible for allowing it to happen since it's their job to monitor the staff working under them.

My local health network is currently under fire because the specifically-low-income pediatric office (all the others don’t accept medical assistance type insurances with this network) had a woman working there who would file false claims to CPS to get children and babies taken away. Example: you bring your kid in for a motoX accident a week later the cops and state are at your house removing your children because the doctor decided the injuries lined up with being hit with objects. Even though there’s a video of the child wiping out on the bike. This is the third state she’s done this in. She’s a psycho who enjoys ripping families apart.

That poor mother, hearing her baby scream, and then seeing blood in its mouth, and being told there was nothing wrong. She's scarred for life. Asking the mother of the triplets if her only surviving baby was leaving there alive. What the hell is wrong with her? And the nerve she had to accuse the Dr's of trying to blame her for their mistakes, when she was killing and hurting those babies. She has to be a psychopath. And those managers, yes, they're just as guilty as she is. They're also the reason I don't think we need government funded/run healthcare. Because people like that get positions they have no business being in. Yes, it can happen in private healthcare as well, but it seems to be more prevalent in government run healthcare. They didn't learn a thing, especially when they all were given the chance to resign instead of being fired, and one of them was transitioned into another position in the NHS. The fact that they protected her, made some of the Dr's apologize to her, and even tried to put her back on the unit make them accessories, in my opinion. This whole thing is just SO sad. My heart breaks for all the families that were impacted by this evil woman.

She's a narcissist with psychopathic tendencies, sadistic and cruel, who got off on the babies' and parents' pain. She had access to such easy victims, the babies. Horrific. There are such monsters who live among us. HG Tudor did an extended series on her on TH-cam which sort of helps you understand what she is, though I doubt any normal person can truly understand the depravity of a person who harms babies in cold blood.

The amount of resistance received when bringing up concerns in the hospital is disheartening. Had an incident with a pt in the ER faking a stroke..it was obvious (being at the bedside) that this was a mental health issue and not neurological. I was chastised and demeaned for my assessment and ordered to start a dangerous medication. After some very thorough charting, I followed the orders and the lady died from a massive bleed in the ICU the next day. Still haunts me to this day. Made me feel like a foolish, unwilling assassin. Almost made me quit my career. Smh.

The NHS is like that, notes going missing so they can't be at blame for medical negligence. And far worse than this. People who work there are scared to whistle blow because they will lose their jobs and never work in the NHS again. It's about time their actions were brought to court and stopped. A timely reminder that Harold Shipman, one of the UKs most notorious serial killers was still a practising doctor when put away for murder. The medical board had not seen fit to do anything about him. Not even when he was accused, they never suspended him and he kept his medical license. This is how Letby got away with murder for so long and my bets is they will find more children that have died in her hands.

This is the problem with healthcare. There are so many places I've worked as a nurse that management with no experience in direct healthcare having authority over people who work directly with patients. We learn in school to report things without fear of being reprimanded or being at fault. But honestly, we really do live in fear of losing our livelihood because we're told that we're replaceable. When COVID struck, all management disappeared and now they're back trying to reinforce all these rules and make our lives difficult. It's ridiculous.

My daughter was hospitalized with severe double sided pneumonia and we had a very close eye on her, one of us was by her side at every single minute. I once stopped a nurse from putting air bubbles into her iv line. The nurse said that only a little bit wouldn’t be harmful but I made her clear the whole thing before putting any medication into it. I didn’t want to risk it at all, she was very young. Maybe I was too careful but that’s just me. (In Sweden 🇸🇪) she wasn’t a premature baby or anything.
There was an air bubble in the iv, it was only 1-2 cm long in the line (don’t know how much air that is?!) she went to inject into the line at a lower level and that would have pushed the air into my baby… she was probably just being lazy to be honest, don’t know.. I would never have guessed that she was doing it with any malicious intent.
