somehow the added roughness of "live" really adds to the songs, even when things are so perfectly delivered... so much atmosphere! I also love the more outgoing/straightforward tracks of earlier albums, but "Boy from Michigan" feels like we get an even more authentic peek into what it goes on inside John's mind :)
Always loved the analogue synths sounds he creates and that voice WOW. Been a Gary Numan fan right from 79 and he creates some of the sam fat booming synths sounds that hooks me.
Oh what an eclectic blend -- no offense please, but I hardly even know how to start describing what I'm listening to. Synth-driven jazz-fusion Americana?! I hear everything from Jean-Michel Jarre to Vince Clarke to almost NIN-like qualities in the synth sounds. Word poetry that evokes both a sense of almost theatricality, musical? Beatles and Leonard Cohen, chord progressions ending in question marks. Beautiful and haunting, thank you!
John is in a league of his own. I hop I get to see him live one day.
I'm liking what I'm hearing. Thank you for sharing your talent, girl from Mi here, scarred and bruised from chasing the American dream.
Amazing musicians, bravi!!! 👏👏👏 And John Grant's voice wow as usual... Super team 👍
Got to give it to you john grant your in a class of your own xxx
This was my favourite album of 2021. I love the atmosphere. It's like someone singing a Stephen King story.

Amazingly deep sound, man!
My fave on the album is The Cruise Room. John Grant is a hunky bear.
I thought it was a track, not an album? Am I going nuts?
