That’s funny, I feel like Link would be the kind of person who would hate relaxing. I get the vibe that he can’t sit still with anything, and is the kind of guy that always gives himself some sort of task. Even if he wanted to have free time, he’d probably play the most stressful games ever. My reasoning is actually due to a very thorough lore analysis of his botw/totk character, and although I could give my full perspective here, nobody would want to hear that. Instead, I’ll just say, I think he would absolutely hate relaxation and being idle. Maybe the only thing I can see him doing that is “relaxing” is cooking. He would definitely play a game about cooking if that exists.
I think he would enjoy things like sitting and relaxing because of all the disciplined training he has done. I think he is a naturally energetic person, but enjoys relaxing things too because of his training. I made a part 2 of this video, where I actually said he would play cooking games!
@cuccoses Cool I’ll have to go watch that now! I think that all of the training and disciplining would actually make him more likely to be energetic, but not in the way you think. Due to the immense pressure he is faced with, and the great purpose that has been bestowed upon him, he is known to neglect his emotions; to set a good example for others, or in other words, not appear weak or vulnerable. The reason he does this may seem altruistically motivated, but it is likely out of his own insecurity and inability to cope with being judged, and feeling like he is failing others. He wants desperately to live up to his purpose, and not feel like a failure, so he has decided that he cannot show weakness, and therefore he will appear perfect, and unable to judge. Emotion equals weakness in his mind. Even though he supposedly goes through a reset in botw after loosing his memories, it’s still clear in totk that he’s out of touch with his feelings. What this has to do with what games he’d play, is his inability to cope with no longer needing to serve that purpose. As I pointed out before, in totk it still seems that despite achieving his purpose, he’s still unable to be vulnerable or emotional. My guess is that he’s essentially void and potentially even depressed in the time between botw and totk. It has become so fundamentally ingrained in him not to show weakness, yet the reason for why he did this in the first place is long gone. He is afraid of being perceived as a weak hero, but he no longer needs to be a hero (I want to clarify that his excuse regarding “setting a good example” as a hero is likely a shield he uses to defend his insecurity, and avoid actual confrontation with his true fear). I always suspected that he started going off and doing things, pushing himself to achieve something constantly, not only to fill the void, and give himself a purpose (being a hero who can’t be weak), but also because relaxing gives way to being in your own head, which in turn leads to emotional thought, which as we know scares him. I think he’d want a game that gives him maximum distraction, and pushes his limits (I also think it’s good to bring up he is often referred to as being stubborn, and rarely ever refusing a challenge, no matter how ridiculous the prospect is. This also fits well with the theory that he requires validation from others, and can’t bear failing in other people’s minds. This is apparently why he eats the rocks that Daruk gives him, not just because he also apparently eats most anything) I think he’s actually a very well written character, despite all the information about him being ridiculously subtle. I had to spend a lot of time researching to come to these conclusions. Some of it is speculation (like his preferences for video games) but if you look, most of this is actually explicitly stated in game.
@cuccoses yea he was like "yo this dude solid snake lowkey awsome" we ate some food after and i talked with his spirit gaurdian thingys (revali and the others) they pretty cool too
So the lamb (the last of it's kind) gets sacrificed and meets the one who waits (Narinder) and gets revived to start a cult in his name and the lamb has to keep the cult healthy and to try to slay the four bishops keeping Narinder away, the lamb then chooses to kneel down to be sacrificed (canonically doesn't) and slays the mortal bodyguards then fight Narinder, the god of death.
(the part where the lamb chooses to kneel down or not) before that, the lamb gets the followers to open the door to meet Narinder and all the lambs followers get captured.
