I have met quite a few celebrities. Many football players (soccer) in my home town when we was in the premier league. After watching a game I would wait out the stadium for a chance of an autograph. Some would sign some would not. But most would alway acknowledge fans. You did get the occasional player who never appreciated fans. But most were so nice and down to earth. Players like Gary O’Neal, Linvoy Primus and Richard Hugues impractical were always wonderful to fans. And any Pompey fan will always sing their praise as they always made 30 seconds for fans. I remember Gary O’Neil was in a rush one day. And he apologised and said couldn’t sign any autographs today. And I said ok mate you played well today. And think it’s because I was a teenager at the time he felt he had to sign. He just turned round and said alright mate give me your program quickly signed it and gave me a smile and a nod. Even if he didn’t sign it just to be acknowledged was something I told my dad and brothers about all night. The signature was secondary because he spoke to me personally it was a really happy memory.
