I don't care what the haters think. Anything that gets older folks outside and moving is a good thing. Keeping active and maintaining muscle mass is very important in your later years.
@Sewer Dragon my 86 year old grandfather still does tennis and its pretty vigours he can still run, he has always been a very physical person always very positive in his attitude and always has eaten well. you don't neccicarily have to do TRT to stay physical and strong in your older years, though it does help.

I started training parkour last year at the age of 50, and still 40 pounds overweight. It's never too late. You start where you're at and move forward. That's the beauty of parkour -- it's not about doing what others are doing; it's about doing whatever is next for you. My balance has made phenomenal improvement. My strength and stamina are soooo much better than they were (I used to only do cardio workouts). And the teens and 20-somethings I've met at the gym and community jams have been nothing but kind and encouraging, which is par for the course in the parkour community. Parkour is not about taking insane risks. As Charles Moreland put it: “Parkour is a method of training the human body to become stronger, more agile, and more efficient. These enhancements are achieved by dedicating yourself to a life of unyielding challenges, unending progression, and constant adaptation.” Every human deserves that, not just young people.
Very well said and this is encouraging. I've dabbled in parkour for almost 10 years, but never seriously enough and I stopped for about 4 years. I'm 54 now and back into it and basically starting over. But I've seen a HUGE improvement in every area of fitness over the past 9 months. (I'm also doing some PT-style exercises, stretching, and swords.) It's super fun and I'm actually stronger than I ever was in the past 10 years so am close to doing a full kong up for the first time!
