Sounds like a great unit to receive your speed wings if you don't want to spend the SP on a passive to fix it. You can focus that SP instead on skills to increase her damage. With the well it's easier to get certain high cost skills to improve damage.
Halberdier lets her run lunar brace because you aren't trying to fix her speed, which with the addition of the well is probably one of the better ways to get damage. It's also somewhat flexible because the Eirika wielder can switch them all to drain mode, or just engage so you get both on everyone with lunar brace
Hero Goldmary (Eirika / Lyn / Leif) lends herself to be a great dodge tank as well. Lance Agility + Engraving + her skill make ir really viable. Dual Strike is an obvious second ability.
@@rhettmitchell well this allows you to take many hits and if you happen to get really lucky you can keep you brave assist or if you take little damage from your defenses, you can cure it back from Eirika’s Sol or another member’s Quality Time.
@rhettmitchell You lose out on some of the face tanking compared to if you take resolve, but it's nice cause if you miss a dodge it's not game over. You can also ride the edge of being just hitable, and just damagable, so maddening AI doesn't ignore you without taking nearly as much damage as only doing the one. Downside is you aren't doing anything to boost damage output in that case.
@@IamHattman Well the AI often ignore targets already when they go below 5 dmg or 10% to hit, unless they can trigger chain attacks. I ran her as a Great Knight with a Great Lance and Great Axe pre DLC purchases with Vantage++ and +Avoidance(Think it was 15% at final chapter). This let her sit at a resonable 30-40% chance to be hit, 10-20% against males while still being a physical tank. That makes her great on enemy phase without high investments into doubling, It's also good for the damage dealers, since they lived long enought to be offed by the speedtakers/Anna. Now when i think of the DLC stuff however i would probably run her with vantage++ and Quick Reposte with Tomahawk/Spear, allowing her to pretty much always double on enemy phase while being synced to Veronica for Reprisal+ and the fortify+ staff(Makes her more flexible on player phase) not to mention +4 Res and +6 Lck ain't bad even if It's A bit of a waste on the +Mag. Book of worlds also synergies fairly nice for this purpose. I was honestly suprised running Veronica on Louis on my recent playtrough, he was kinda broken with the Brionac one-shotting pretty much everything once he started losing some health.
Holy Stance is genuinely a really great ability to have for endgame. Its not really worth picking up early, and the argument can be made that tanks with a counter ability aren't as efficient at using said counter ability, but I find Goldmary to be one of the better units to use with Holy Stance. Even in Hero her defence isn't going to get so high she'll take little to no damage (especially on Maddening mode where the enemies hit like a damn truck), so it means she's in this golden ratio of reflecting damage and not being dead after three or four rounds of enemy phase combat. The only downside is that it requires major bond fragment investment or saddling Goldmary with an Emblem that is just not suited to her kit, so you have to weigh how much time you want to invest in either case. I'd say it's a decently effective strategy for her, and I'm eager to see how people play with Warding Stance in the future since it's such a uniquely useful endgame ability. As for Goldmary herself, I find she's a unit that's hard to screw up. I used her on Halberdier, and the only real issue she has in the class is that she can get doubled a lot if you aren't investing in speed fixes (which you were probably gonna be doing for her anyway). She didn't disappoint, but I've only used her twice for the same reason I seldom run Kagetsu: I wanna try fun and interesting builds to see just what I can get away with on maddening, and units that are just really stacked tend to run counterintuitive to that concept. Goldmary is pretty much going to be a tank or an off-tank brawler no matter what class she's in, whereas Timerra in Picket can be built in three distinct ways to fit a team comp and thus has more to chew on for gameplay experimentation. That being said, I think I'll try an evasion focused build with Goldmary, since her personal skill can situationally help her dodge tank if you get her speed higher.
I made mine into paladin with S rank lances. With the Erika Ring, she does great damage, has great survival, but also has the self healing when needed. She's my tankiest person on my 3rd maddening run.
I ended up keeping her in great knight with Sigurd ring on maddening. By the end of the game she had crazy defense most of the units deal 0 damage to her, although I didn’t find that to be a problem because I used her mainly to run around the map blocking enemy advancement and just popping override every know and then. With resolve+ and some pure water she’s not even afraid of mages.
I'm trying Goldmary as a hero with dual support assist+ with the Sigurd ring and she can help with so much chip damage it's insane lol. I need to use her in more runs she's fun and has alot of entertaining supports
I used her as a warrior and she helped me so much in my first blind playthrough. I see a lot have put her in great knight. I'ma try that on my next all women team
I just found the dual cube strat. Yunaka->merrin->Kagestsu->zelkov in that order with duall support plus marth avoid 30 gets base 90 avoid. toss corrin on a thief gets you 120. There are 4 engraving with 20+ avoid getting minimum of 140 natural avoid before stats or support bonus. Alear can be substituted for anyone. bonus: Alear ring give everyone else + 30 avoid when engaged
I went great knight + brave Lance / silver greataxe build for mine. Maybe a little too strong defensively, but she takes probably 80% of most enemies health (or 1shots many of them) while taking like 3 damage. Downside, super weak to mages as per usual with armor. Mostly did this though because I needed another frontliner, but my usual "good engraves" were taken so I gave her one that increased MT and weapon weight a ton
I think tiki is the best emblem ring for goldmary as she further buffs her defense and HP while also having the option to add plus 5 speed. Also with the native lifesphere ability you can run brave assist and canter on her which means she gets the extra positioning and the ability to turn on a long distance brave assist whenever she can't contribute as much to a regular combat
I tried her with hero class and Veronica Ring with Canter and Dual assist+ she just summon a unit with Dual assist (Back up passiv) and place herself (never attacking for stacking world tree and dish out on bosses or tough ennemies) with this build she's add +3 assist every strike with a huge range due to Dual assist (also free unit and she can "Dance")
I've done many builds with Goldmary in the 6 maddening run's i've done. Lucina isn't the worst she does boost her speed and dex for that one run I gave her a Killing Edge turned her into a crit monster. The Bond Shield Utility isn't the best since theres no extra bonus from her type. it's not her best ring but its not bad if you have other units fighting for other ring. For Skills I did much like the ike build Speed taker and Spd+
I’ve had really good luck with dual assist, generic speed +X and using Hector. It allows her to double everything enemy phase and with her weapon choices you can use an effective type weapon if needed. Hector adds other stuff as well, but it’s mostly QR and dual assist have made her a monster.
I am running a high move ultimate tank goldmary. Steel Blade +2 with Ike engrave, She does not need the speed, since it is a smash weapon, It gives like + infinite might, so she will kill enemies, she is in great knight for high mov/def, and she can delete enemies when using twin strike with eirike at max bond. Also Gentility reduces damage and Bravery increases damage and heals. What do you think of my build?
I prefer her on the Hero class, or a class with 2 weapons rather than something like Halberdier or Paladin. I ran her as a Halberdier and found that she was too susceptible to getting broken by the many axe enemies you have to deal with in the game meaning she wasn't really all that useful during the enemy phase, and running avo skills on her means you're giving up slots to improve her combat abilities and it also kind of eliminates the point of her one really good stat, her Def.
I used her just as a hero with Corrin. Have her mostly just use stone vein every turn to keep defenses up, have dual assist, hp+10, and brave assist to take chunks out if enemies while basically being unkillable. Draconic hex doesnt hurt either lol
I’m on my first playthrough and just got the last 2 characters. Using the dragob but as a sage and gonna replace mauv with goldmary. Might just test this holy stance build
I just want to share a build I'm thinking of doing that uses Leif. I haven't tried it yet, since it's just speculation, but Leif with a Warrior gives you Crit plus 10. With inherited Wrath and Vantage you can spank the enemy before they hit you and adaptability lets you use and Axe or Bow (even longbow). There's another skill slot to make this stronger too. I'm thinking speedtaker maybe?
I tried her out on wolf knight and she hit the defense cap in 10 levels. It was fun and it's worthwhile to fix her speed, but I feel like I'm wasting that fat defense growth if I stay there any longer.
I'd never run defense or resist plus over something like resolve personally. Like you can def +5, or you can get def +7/res+7 when your HP is is 75% or less for the same price
Goldmary I benched for the flying femboy but I have only heard good things about her as a unit. As a character, I like that she's a complete egomaniac. Also her chest size in outfits besides her default is so inconsistent.
Since you have the dlc you could run starsphere on a thief goldmary. Also hero has 15 str growth. Its swordmaster that has 10 as the sword backup class. You could also run weapon sync on goldmary for more damage with speedtaker. Depends on what you want really. Also how has the dlc been treating you? One thing i will say is that i really dislike soren's map. My least favorite map even with the laggy camilla fates map. Too many excaliburs, thorons, wolfknights, backups, and archers to really enjoy especially with the amount of greatknights that pop up but i also tend to get the dlc emblems when i have their respective series base game one so chrobin after getting lucina and her paralogue done usually, then i wait till i get ike then go after soren after corrin is obtained for the dancing and then after soren i go for camilla and also go for hector after lynn usually. Also is sword/axe/ lance power really better than lunar brace or weapon sync or reprisal? Lunar Brace really increases damage on enemies so idk if its worth going for the powers over lunar brace. If you run a crit build on anyone i highly recommend brute force.
I find it interesting how Goldmary and Rosado are almost opposites. Goldmary has GREAT bases and average growths, whereas Rosado has average bases and AMAZING growth rates. They did my baby boy dirty by giving hi low build..
I dislike her for wrath builds since her dex isn’t all that great after running Ike on her in h 3rd maddening run. I found her hit rate left a lot to be desired with variance of 50-100 hit rate across a lot of enemies in general. I think her as a tank and chip damage is best, just so people understand that she wasn’t designed to be a DPS unit like some others
She was a monster on my 2nd maddening run as a warrior. Gave her speedster and speed plus 4 and after 1 or 2 kills she was fast enough to double a lot of enemies. It was low investment too. Never tried wrath in her. Didn't seem viable to me considering her low dex
I don't know how you got her good on hero she wasn't impactful with my team so I had to put her on great knight and she is one of the best units on my team now
Ive seen Holy stance unironically be good. It killed Alear's mom for me in that one chapter near the end when I took a huge hit from her. I already have like four lance units, and I’m badly in need of another axe user. Is using a Second Seal to promote her to a sword+axe Hero ever worthwhile?
i hope they do some rebalancing soon via patches or something, it's such a shame that berserker is made so crap with its extremely low dex cap esp because panette has such an amazing berserker outfit but warrior is just so much better

Goldmary's bases are decent but I wouldn't consider them good when you get Zelkov, Merrin, Pannette, and Kagetsu all before her. I personally think Rosado is a more interesting option of the two because although his bases are just ok, he has insane growths and innate axe proficiency, which is hard to come by. Growths at this point in the game won't really come into play until late game, but mid game maps are pretty easy anyway so it won't make your life much harder.
I went with paladin and I'm gonna be honest, do not follow in my foot steps with that one. Idk what IS was thinking with paladins in this game, but they suck
I see Goldmary I click
I think it would be cool if you made a video on which units are best to pair with each emblem mid to late game.
Oh yeah that’d be really nice
Her line in the final chapter justifies using her for a full playthrough imo
Goldmary: I’m sorry if… I’m too perfect for you.
Soren: 🥱
Ike: Please find a different way to be a normal person.
