No I didn't forget Nitro Zeus I added him when I talked about the KSI bots in AOE. Some of the designs used represent the same design even if minor things are tweaked comparerd to the CGI designs.
Only six OG characters like (the twins soundwave bee scrap metal and onslaught had awful and ugly design which I do agree and my favorite is barricade and shockwave

Sideswipe’s design is my favorite out of every other Transformer
The design I want to see is ultra magnus
Fun fact: the flame design on Optimus were done out of practicality, as red is apparently tricky on camera, so instead Bay used a blue truck and made the flames so Prime's robot mode would still have red on the chest (the issue filming red cars also being why Ironhide was made black instead of red)
That's also the reason for rampage and sentinel colors and why we didn't see much of dino and overload

@@iLuvMisaell I’m not educated on it exactly but here’s what I’m thinking based off some photography experience:
Red emits one of the lowest wavelengths for light meaning you need that cameras need to let more light in to allow for red to look how it does to us. The pricked with this I’m high action scenes like transformers is you have a lot of fast moving shots which require a high shutter speed to work with. The higher the shutter speed, the darker an image gets so photographers/filmmakers compensate by upping the ISO on cameras or lowering the aperature (focal length). The trade off is the higher the ISO you use, the grainier the image looks and the lower the aperture you use, more gets blurred out outside of what’s being focused on.
Because red is so dark to cameras compared to other colors, filmmakers would need to use higher ISO and lower aperture to get the colors correct meaning the image would have good coloring, but the shots themselves would look pretty bad
I mean black coloured iron hide works a lot more for the design
But what about Dino lmao the flames always looked weird to me so when the third movie came around they should of got rid of them and same with ironhide being red

It just makes me wonder what Blackout did before the war... a cybertronian scorpion who can dig efficiently through sand, dirt, soil and maybe rock likely would have a harder time with the metallic surface of cybertron. Has me thinking maybe Blackout was part of an off-world research team or something for Cybertron
I loved playing as the scorpion in the ps2 game and digging underneath the ground and popping up under people

Jazz’s design doesn’t get nearly enough credit for how good it is. It’s recognizable and actually fits his character better than his G1 design.
Not to mention he *oozed* personality, all the 2007 Autobots were unique in form and personality but the first true scene with Jazz and the mofo starts break dancing 😂
Plus it pretty much is his G1 design with the most notable difference being color
What did ya expect from a director who sees explosions and eye candy more appealing than Transformer designs. It’s like putting Neal O Patrick in a Smurf’s movie.
I just like his og colors and VA, which obviously the second one wasn’t possible at all, just wish there was a not to his color scheme like bee or Optimus had, I’ll even say that for starscream. Then again, I like the color red a lot so I’m a little biased lmao
The bayverse robot design is actually goated tho
I think having Devastator being a hulking monster rather than just.. a larger robot? Is cool.
and let's be honest the costructicons and devastator having different colors is much better than them being completely green.

The Bayfilms Robots get a bad rap. While I'm a sucker for G1 accuracy, the designs for the 1st movie are All Around really stellar. Especially since you can tell who each robot is in a Given scene😅 lol I mean my abuela could tell which one Optimus Prime was supposed to be, and thats gotta count for somethin! AOE on the other hand.....
Lovely seeing you here, Orion! :) And yes, I’m on the same page as you. I really enjoyed the Bumblebee movie designs for its modern tribute to the classics. But most of us can agree that the Bayverse designs are badaft on their own 😎💯 Each of the designs are unique in their own ways and I think they should be appreciated as such.

The designs and characters may not have been as iconic, but they were more fleshed out and were tighter in their design despite being a bit too humanoid in certain ways. Most importantly, the movie stayed moving on the main plot rather than going off into annoying side plots. The music is great too

The Bayverse designs are very hit or miss, but in my opinion, I think Megatron’s design in TLK is super underrated. I liked how they gave him a mouth cover similar to Optimus and his sword is raw as fuck.
It's called a battle mask not a mouth cover which is great and nan his LK design isn't that underrated due to the fact that it's just a copy of tfp megatron

Soundwave being a surveillance satellites is a 10/10 design. His personality in that movie was way more accurate too
He did not even disguise himself as a human made machine, he just fused with a satellite. I really like his design.

There's no synth effect in the voice
One complain is the fact that he didnt even flinch nor react when Lazerbeak was blown up lmao.
Like, he is known for being a mother to his minicons which was something I like, whereas in the movie, it felt like he saw the minicons like more of a weapon he didnt really care about.

I find it interesting that they took Sideswipe’s piledrivers and made them into blades for the live action version. Whether that was a misinterpretation of the design or if it was an intentional homage I like it.
The blades definitely fit better for a robot that transforms into a sports car and who gets around basically on roller blades
The designs from 4 and 5 looked way too human in the proportions and smooth-ness. You can barely see any car parts in them. IMO it robbed them of the appeal of Transformers and just made them look like colorful plain robots.
EXACTLY!! Even the faces looked far more human instead of actually looking more like robots, the only vehicle part I can make out in Primes AoE design is his exhausts, and TLK Megatron doesn’t even look like he can transform considering how smooth and plated he looks

Tlk redid the changes made to bumblebee and gave him a design eerily similar to bumblebee from the first 3 movies so I really liked that

The movie Galvatron is one of the worst offenders for me from the Bay movies.
I can’t believe how… uncreative it is. I don’t even care if he isn’t purple… he just… doesn’t look like anything. That design could have been used as a generic foot soldier and nobody would notice
A lot of the bay verse deceptions share the same sentiment. Any gray deception just looks like the generic protoform from far away.

His design isn't that complex due to lack of vehicule parts in his robot mode but it's creative

I was looking at 07 Megatrons design and noticed he takes designs elements from previous Megatrons, chest from Armada, helmet had the Armada side panels and bw forehead crest and overall silhouette from G1, shoulders and arms from Rid, legs from Cybertron all with a coat of silver from G1
the shock wave design is so good, he just need's color, but then again 90% of the cons need color instead of just sliver
he has color, it's just a very metallic Purple

Actually, you know the only reason we have the iconic flames is because in 2007 when they designed prime, red was really hard to look good on film if there was a lot. That's also why there was concept art of him being all blue

Personally, I think all of the Autobot designs in AOE are the best out of the Bay movies because they remind me of different eras/forms of combat. Prime is a knight, Bumblebee is a ninja/martial artist, Drift is a samurai, Crosshairs is a WWI soldier/paratrooper, Hound is a WWII/present day soldier, and the Dinobots are barbarians.
Aoe has my favorite bumblebees. Especially the new bumblebee design for AOE

The duality of transformers fans
I think Starscream’s design is genius. In art an inverted triangle is a shorthand for the male figure, broad shoulders tapering at the waist. It’s meant to show strength, but having it all supported by chicken legs actually shows his character perfectly. All talk with a shaky foundation. He was deadly in the first film though. I love that design so much and his sound effects were perfect. I dislike the tattoos however
I like the live action designs because I grew up with Optimus with flames, but I understand why older fans wouldn't like the designs

I feel like Dispensor could have been pumped up one because…he became weirdly popular for no reason, he got a pretty fun stealth game and later got an AOE toy…For no reason

I absolutely love the dreads designs. They just look so cool to me and I really love them. Also I don't understand why people say "OoOoh the designs of the Michael bay movies are so lazy!!" When in g1 we have 3 characters using the same designs. Also have bumblebees and cliffjumoer. We have ironhide and ratchet using completely the same body. I may be bias because I grew up with flame optimus prime. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON 15 SEEKERS USING THE SAME BODY. I mean I actually really like the seekers but Jesus Christ it's kind of hypocritical to hate on Michael bay designs for reusing bodies.

@@Transit0422 I am perfectly fine with g1 reusing designs I just find it hypocritical to hate on the designs for reusing then turn around and out g1 on a pedestal. Of course comodin didn't do this in the video but this is for the g1 people in the comments
I really like the Dreads. Their black Suburban alt modes really kinda fit and contrast with their role.
Fun fact: Crankcase and Crowbar actually share the same overall body in the movie proper.

Michael Bay's reused designs aren't nearly as easy to read. Between the muted color schemes, the quick edits, and how often his characters are just a mess of too much detail? And how quick he is to sacrifice personalty on anything that isn't a main character?

I think I like brawl the most in the first movie. He kept taking critical hits and just kept going. Even when it was clear he was far to damaged to even flee battle if he wanted to, he was still incurring human casualties. Kinda wish that’s how all the transformers worked. I liked it when brawl, a background decepticon, took a lot of hits to take down cuz he’s a giant war machine that takes a lot of damage to kill. I hated it when all the background decepticons in the sequels could basically be taken down with a handgun they were so weak.
In case you didn’t know The Fallen actually has a mini decepticon logo on his face, or at least something similar to it

Credit where credit is due. The bayverse gave us some very iconic designs to the point where characters nowadays take inspiration from here. (Such as barricade and ironhide) and I LOVE that the live action finally broke away from just re-using the same design with ratchet and ironhide. And I hope more series or lines will break away from just using the same mold such as Starscream and Thundercracker in Cybertron. I will always give credit to the designers and the concept artists for these movies. And THATS IT!

5:48 I’m gonna tell you right now, there was NOTHING as impactful and “thrilling” to me as a kid than the scene with the soldiers and blackout. Idk why but that bit of tension and then all out action was just something else!
It's one of the greatest openers I think I've seen in a movie.
Unidentified and supposedly shot down helicopter approaches U.S. military base... lands... an ominous vibe the whole time.
Then the helicopter *stops* and not gradually either, everything just grinds to a halt.
*THEN* the metal starts shifting position, soldiers start shooting, even their .50cal machine guns have no effect.
Within a minute the entire base is in a state of panic, all attempts to stop the metal collosus are futile, the biggest secrets of the U.S. government are hacked into and stolen (why that info was on a cloud server in Qatar we may never know)
Not long after chain of command has broken down and only a handful of survivors are left to wander the desert.
Talk about sending a fucking message 🤯🤯

@@rovgero9932 I mean... it's definitely unconventional when compared to the cartoons as the movies are generally tailored for a more mature audience (how well that's accomplished is debatable)
But I adore most of the designs from the first three movies, and I don't think the character representation is *that* bad; granted I grew up with the first 3 movies so my perspective is scewed a bit (they weren't my first exposure to the series, but I owned the movies and none of the T.V. channels in my hometown had transformers)
If you went back to the late 90's/ early 2000's folks would likely have your same opinion but on Beast Wars which is now largely regarded as one of the best transformers cartoons

@@rovgero9932 Optimus doesn't really kill that many Decepticons, before Dark of the Moon he had only killed 3 (Bonecrusher, Grindor, The Fallen) but his kill count is a bit more justifiable in DotM considering it was a whole ass army invading. I stopped paying too much attention by AoE/TLK but I don't recall his kill count being particularly high in either of those.
And Bumblebee is """mute""" in the movies, he strings together sentences over the radio which I thought was endearing... he also gets his voice back for 1 line in both the first movie and TLK.
And Soundwave was depicted as an Over-seer of the Kaon prison complex (among other things) in the WFC video game (released in 2010, so before his more sadistic DotM appearance)... which if you haven't played, the prison complex is largely depicted as a place of mass execution and "recycling"
Watched a lot of G1 and unicron trilogy before the first movie but I’m still biased to the designs from movie 1-3. Bumblebee redesigned them to look more like the original but idk, I don’t hate them though.
My perspective is kinda mixed. I like the CGI design in Bumblebee but I feel like Bayformers designs make more sense because of the smaller pieces that move when they transform and more alien look. Bumblebee designs are just to bulky and robotic

I absolutely LOVE how Sideswipe rolls around on his wheels. I also love Bumblebee's classic Camaro that's mostly black from the beginning of AOE.
Welp, we all knew this was coming, also not first.
I prefer Ironhide being in a black color scheme. Like I like the Diaclone version way better because of its red accents with mainly black color scheme. Also iron is naturally black in color so that’s also a thing
The thing the life action movies got going for me is nostalgia since I was first introduced to Transformers in general through the movies. I don't really mind the life action designs since that's how I got to know them yk but I can definitely understand the criticism.
Bumblebee movie designs are amazing but i also really like bayformer designs.
For me some of Travis knight looks are good just like MB

All that matters if it's fresh and new like the bumblebee one wasn't new it was just G1 that was slaped in live action compare to bayverse which was just something else and unique
The Travis Knight designs are much more accurate to the original source material, much like many of the MCU character designs. The thing about the Bayverse designs is that they were made during a time in Hollywood where source material accurate designs weren’t prioritized (take the Fox X-Men for example). I’m glad that we’re finally getting accurate designs across the board for most franchises now.
Alice was her "alt mode", the human disguise, the Decepticon was actually called Pretender. And it comes to me now, that Quintessa did the same trick at the end of TLK.
Soundwave was originally gonna go to Earth and transcan a Black Chevy Silverado in ROTF, but was scrapped for whatever reason
Also, Blackout was originally going to be named "Vortex" in movie 1, which would've given us two of five Combaticons along with Brawl. And sense we saw Onslaught in TLK, that would've given us three Combaticons
Barricade and blackout are still my favorite decepticons in the original transformer movies. The first movie introduced me to transformers so I have so much nostalgia. Also comodin cam I love these tier lists and appreciate your hard work. Hope you have a great Christmas.
I just wish the bayformers had cleaner heads, the Bumblebee movie showed that they could have have smooth faces that don't look like a bunch of knives.
Daytrader was originally supposed to be called Wreck-Garr and I've seen it online and on videos of the characters in the movie.
29:39 *AHEM* Lieutenant was one of the many elderly Transformers under the care of Edmund Burton and Cogman. When the TRF and MI6 stormed their castle, Lieutenant stepped up to defend the castle, but was undone by his own age, shutting down before he could make a stand.

Infernocus is definitely one of the reasons I want a Transformers meets DOOM and one of the reasons I named myself DOOMSLAYER PRIME as well even some of the Decepticons Desins in general definitely made my this of certain Demons from the Game and Optimus definitely gave me DOOMSLAYER vibes towards the sequels he definitely was one of the few versions of Optimus that pretty much said I'm done giving cons a second chance Give me your face pretty much the DOOMSLAYER when he decapitated the Cyberdemon
I hate how Canopy was in pretty much every trailer and he dies in like 13 minutes.
If you watch the forest battle in Revenge of the Fallen, they can see grinder switching body designs, for example like seeing his shoulders and top-half are changing in a certain scene
The shoulders chest arms and leg designs did change a bit with some brown texture but it's still OG blackout form
Shame grindor didn't had his own look

I think grimlocks design was a masterpiece. I loved seeing the T Rex heads on his shoulders and that badass mace. His Dinobot design was great, I loved the devilish T Rex look of him. Plus that fire breath was *chefs kiss*

I vastly prefer almost all the G1 designs to... anything else, but the 2007 movie actually made all of the characters distinct. Especially Optimus. I know his model didn't change much in the trilogy, but he just looks perfect in that first film.
Idk the movie iron hide design fits his character and name a lot more

the one-eyed ravage is actually my favourite design from the entire RotF movie. i was obsessed with that design as a kid. it's just menacing, creepy, and satisfying to see.
(i also wish Evac's design was used for Mirage instead)
While I love the Bayformers a part of me hates that some of them are completely different from the originals

If I push aside the early problems with the overall character style, most of the designs are actually really good.
Dont get me wrong I have *a lot* of problems with the designs of the first 5 movies and even with those in the Bumblebee movie.
But I do appreciate that they tried to give character their own unique flare.
The ones from the 07 movie were probably my favorites.
Even the Cons had each a unique body shape and a ever so slight yet important change of color.
They managed to bring the alien force of nature aesthetic across without turning them into grey blobs of amorphous metal.

My fav design that didnt appear in the movies has to be cybertron OP I rlly like that design and the alt mode too which is basically his Wfc (game =) design with a trailer slapped to it which I will admit it will look clumsy if in the movie but, its a great concept nonetheless

I love, Barricade, Bone Crusher 1st Optimus Prime, Iron hide, Black Out, Mixmaster, Longhaul and Desert Megs the best from the bay films. The SS figures do not disappoint

I agree with you on the AOE and TLK designs. Not enough kibble. If the movies weren't titled "Transformers", then I would not think that they would transform.
I agree to a certain extent. Overall, I’d say it’s about the same with the other movies with the KSI bots, Bee, Drift and Crosshairs but the big names like Prime and Galvatron needed more kibble.

Obviously the best robot designs in the live action movies were in Bumblebee as it gave us the Original Transformers designs in Cybertron

personally I quite like the more alien designs, I always found them more interesting and original than the G1 designs, that said I grew up with them so whatever
G1 was just androids that can transform so I get that but yes the xeno look made the fallen pretty much genuis compare to meg and frenzy who weren't good nor bad

As a huge transformers fan, I absolutely LOVE a majority of Moviesverse designs, because I am someone who is a big fan of flashy, realistic, different and well details designs, specifically the Transformers. My favorite ones are the movie trilogy Optimus Prime with his trailer jet wing, Bumblebee's 1977, 2007, DOTM, High octane and TLK designs, both of Ratchet designs, ironhide, starscream, DOTH Megatron, jazz, Blackout, barricade, Brawl, 2007 Arcee concept art, sideswipe, the dreads, the wreckers, and lockdown. I am not the biggest fan of Generation 1 live action designs, even though I like them, I much prefer Michael Bay's Transformers Movie designs than the Bumblebee movie designs in my opinion.
Honestly, I really like Bumblebee's AoE design.
It’s just that his head (which has always been ugly) looks worse in it. I really like how sleek the body is. Reminds me of a ninja.

Telling ya man.. The opening scene to TF1 with Blackout destroying a base and trying to find info on the Allspark and Megatron.. just perfect, perfect way to open a brand new movie for a long franchise
People instantly got the message and honestly, when a giant robot with a militaristic alt mode comes to literally wipe out a military base, the extreme amount of explosions made sense.

What's kind of both beautiful and frustrating abt like Bayverse designs is all the random metal parts sticking out of transformers. Color hides it a lot but just seeing a bunch of miscellanious gray metal parts sticking around is either hit or miss depending on the time of day
I wish there were the gen 1 designs along side the movie design in the video so I can compare the looks of the gen 1 designs with movie ones for ones that I don't know

The Transformer designs were a lot better in Bumblebee than any of Bays designs. Mainly cuz they actually give half of these transformers screen time and they get a few extra lines too.
I can't stand how the 1st movie's barricade design doesn't have a midsection and the fact that he has 2 arms that are way too big for his body
For me my favourite Transformers designs from the Micheal Bay movies are the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee designs from the first three movies, Revenge Of The Fallen Megatron, Blackout, Barricade from the 2007 movie and The Last Knight movie, Starscream, Brawl, Bonecrusher, Sideswipe, Dino/Mirage, Sideways, Sentinel Prime, Dark Of The Moon Shockwave, Dark Of The Moon, The Wreckers, Drift, Crosshairs, Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, Longhaul, Scrapper, Rampage, Demolisher/Scavenger, Overload, High Octane Bumblebee, The Fallen, Devastator, Grimlock, Scorn, Galvatron, Lockdown, Ravage and The Last Knight Megatron design. All of these Transformers designs from the Micheal Bay movies are some of my favourite Transformers designs and always had a special place in my heart especially Optimus Prime design from 2007 movie to Dark Of The Moon.
The other Transformers designs from the Bayformer movies are just me to complete ugly or just downright awful especially the Kitchenbots and The Twins. The Transformers design from Age Of Exinction and The Last Knight movie start to look more humanoid and only 3 or 5 Transformers design that I acually like such as The Last Knight Megatron and Barricade, Drift, Crosshairs, Lockdown, Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, and Hight Octane Bumblebee. The Micheal Bay Transformers design always have a hit or miss for me because there are some I love and looks awesome on screen and there are some that looks interesting or not my taste. But The Bumblebee movie designs are all fantastic especially Optimus Prime and Soundwave.

Another name for a flat nose is a cabover: btw for the night prime If you look on his chest you see those vents that Are which is the Part on the side of the western star 5700x hood and it has the western star logo on it and For sure everbody would see the Pipes on his back but I love his knight designs even yea he could need some Truck parts to show on him well beside the vents and and the smoke stacks
