    I'm animation alongside these tutorials! My animation is of a fat little fish bobbing along underwater!

    Thanks for another great tutorial. I know this is a learning experience but my initial 6 sack positions looks a far better animation (reducing fps to 12) than after all my hard work was done. This to me is a revelation and points me in the direction i want to go. simplistic, animatic, minimum movement (using anticipation squash and stretch) type of animation.

    This is a useful look into how to handle a project that is going to have more than 1 aspect that you are worrying about. This will probably help me as I am admittedly just flying by the seat of my pants 99% of the time (I have a real problem with timing... Letting things rest and breath... and I am a poor judge of how long something takes to complete.).
    Seeing the flour sack assess the hill and make their jump taking over 6 seconds seemed too long in my head, but seeing it play out the timing seems rather spot on! Looking forward to the next part and I'm going to follow along with the project I'm working on!

      Thanks Ryan. Timing is still something I'm continuing to work on. As you say, letting your animation breath is really important.
      I'm looking forward to the next few parts. Being able to take more time over, even this simple, animation after January's daily animating is a relief.
      It's great to hear you're working on a new project. I hope that goes well. If you wanted to share it at all, i'd love to see it buddy, when it's ready.

    There must be a way to have one background layer for every frame and not have to redraw it every time right ?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. You just extend the drawing to however long you want it to last. I show you how to in this video.

      @@DarrenTAnims sorry , i didn't catch that part , one of the down side of watching on mute while the wife listens to her shows 😜🤷‍♂️ despite that i love this tutorial and it's been very useful. Thank you soooo much 🤘

      @@joedoe4341 Sorry, I missed which of the 4 parts this video was. The technique I was talking about can be seen in the section on timing out the animatic (at 13:15). You can see how I make a drawing last longer than 1 frame. You'd just do this for your whole background. I don't draw the final background until a later video.
      But I understand it can be difficult to follow a video without the sound. And the subtitles aren't that accurate.

    I just spent sooo many hours working on an animatic. And have somehow deleted the entire column it was on. And somehow my last save has been overwritten so i cant pull it back up 🥲🥲 i keep getting a glitch to do with my undo button and i think thats where it all kinda came from. I am wounded

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It sounds like you've had a bad time recently.
      Deleting the column doesn't affect the drawings at all. If they're saved, they're safe!
      You can add your drawings to another column by
      - dragging a drawing from that level into a new column
      - by right clicking in an empty frame and choosing load level, then finding it on disk
      - or by choosing your old level from the dropdown at the top of the level strip, then dragging the drawings into the timeline.
      There is a glitch with undo. When you realise that it's gone wrong, hit save then restart OpenToonz and it'll start working again.

      OMG YOU ARE AN ACTUAL HERO.
      I FOUND THE DRAWINGS AND I COULD ACTUALLY CRY.
      THANK YOU SO MUCH
      I'll for sure save and restart next time undo starts to play up!!!
