    The Mercury V2 is the BOMB! I loaded up RoPieeeXL on her and am not looking back. I have had the ifi, Node with LHY power upgrade and the Cambridge CXN V2. The Mercury V2 walks all over them all. Add Alvins SW-8 switch and LHY power supply and we are talking audio nirvana! I'm using mine with my Venus II 12th. Keep up the good work Alvin!

    Hi Alvin, great to hear you’ll be distributing these! I’ve had the original PI2AES, a beta Mercury Streamer, and now the V2... All are fantastic streamers! Running my new V2 (RoPieee/Roon/Qobuz w an LPS) with your Venus DAC over I2S...

    This a great explanation of the new Mercury V2 streamer. Thank you, Alvin!
    When will you be doing part 2 of this video? I ordered the Mercury V2 several months ago.
    It should arrive within the next few weeks and I'll need instructions on how to set the I2S to be compatible with my Pontus II DAC.
    Thanks again!

      The Mercury V2 uses the same pinout Denafrips uses, it is plug and play. It sounds fantastic on my Venus II 12th! Personally, I use the AES, it sounds a bit better to my ear.

    Wow ! Well done Alvin.. So nice to see your business expanding !!! Merry Christmas is very warm/hot Singapore... It's way below freezing right now in the Midwest USA. -16C I believe if my math is correct.....
    I am not familiar with Volumio so need to read up on it... Key is what streaming services are supported ? Would be great if Amazon Music HD is supported natively !

    Cheaper alternative, I have the Denafrips Ares 12th connected via I2S to an Audiophonics DigiPi+I2S interface.
    It costs about $70.USD sits on top a Ras PI. The DigiPi+I2S uses a WM8804G chip similar to Mercury. I found a cheap Ras PI 4 sold in a kit at HiFiBerry’s website. I’ve switched between OPT, COAX and I2S while listening to music.
    I find I2S stays truer to the stereo mix. Hard to notice without quick A B comparison but after I noticed it, I can’t go back to OPT or COAX. I have Ares I2S config set to mode 0. All that being said I’d really like to compare my setup to the Mercury.

    Good introduction of this new streamer. Speaking of LHY LPSUs, I heard a good LPSU can make quite a difference to the sound quality of a modem and help streaming overtake CD sound quality (along with a good network switch like LHY and one or two other tweaks). Which model of LHY do you recommend to power a regular household modem, would LHY Audio LPS25VA be sufficient?

    • @VinshineAudio
      @VinshineAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Connor, for SMPS/LPS replacement, we would need the specification of the device (more often than note, you may find such information on the SMPS Adapter. There is a label on it). If you could provide us the information, we may make a recommendation for you. Please reach out to us at sales@beatechnik.com

    Merry X-mas and happy 2023! Hope we see you with more and more videos!
    One question on the Volumio for this streamer - does it require extra payment for using Volumio?

    • @VinshineAudio
      @VinshineAudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the wishes! Happy 2023!
      Yes, if you need the premium features, you need to subscribe to the Volumio Premium OS at a fee, monthly/annually.

    Great to seeing this. I saw some posted Reviewer said PI2Design I2S output event better than Denafrips Hermer , is that right ?

    • @VinshineAudio
      @VinshineAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you like the video! I wouldn’t compare the DDC and a Streamer. They function differently. For the case of DENAFRIPS Hermes DDC, it is a DDC where it converts the digital inputs (USB/Coax etc), FIFO Buffer and Reclock the signals, and output the cleansed signal via I2S/AES/SPDIF etc. Whereas a streamer like the Pi2Design, is a purpose-built streamer where there is no digital input. It really depends on the use-case, application, and ultimately, what you need and prefer, sir :)
      Hope i am making sense :)

      $3500 spent on $100 parts and sounds no better than a $79 Wiim mini. For $3500 you must really enjoy the resolution of mp3s and Spotify.

    Hi Alvin, Happy New Year! Would you know if one of the operating systems that is able to be run by the Mercury V2 will run both Roon AND NAA/HQ Player? Of course, as with most streamers that can do this there may be some app switching involved. Thanks!

      I would think the strength of the Mercury V2 is its ability to use different OS, and various digital outputs, especially the i2s. If you have a DAC with i2s input, the Mercury V2 is an easy recommendation.
