@@marktalbott3835 not completely unknown they weren't bothered about america they were too English like the kinks and small faces neither were big over there
@@marktalbott3835 From '79 (back in the days of living in the hick and humid hinterlands of the Ohio River Valley) onwards, they've been in my top-3 fave bands of all time.
I know of no other band EVER whose studio recordings are POP songs yet when played live are turned into ferocious ammunition. This, Going Underground, and so many other songs convey their absolute elegant rage. Does that even make sense?
Allready commented but .. these guys almost single handedly created a whole scene.. and i can never thank them enough . Its totally shaped my life "before and after" my kids lol.. once a mod n all that
Hard to get up and go to work after this. The power this trio exudes is unparalleled. Paul Weller was the greatest singer and songwriter of the last 40 years.....NO ONE even come close.
I used to have a.3song set on video, I think from OGWT - A Bomb, Billy Hunt , In The Street Today. Brilliant of course, I remember reading The Buzzcocks were listening backstage & shitting cause they were on next.

Fantastic.... The Jam had it all.... Energy, skill, first class song writing, image. Certainly the best band to have graced our charts...ever!
Completely unknown in the United States

There seemed to be many great singer songwriters around then but he was certainly among the best.
You didn't mention guitarist, the coolest ever.
Foxton’s bass, always so good.
Superb sound he's getting from that Fender...
Cunning and cutting. These guys were the real thing.
What a band
Totally fucking electric. Makes me proud to be a human being!
Great one of the best jam songs

Chaos in the USA reminded me of this song... and Eton Rifles...
Where the streets are paved with blood
With cataclysmic overtones
Fear and hate linger in the air
A strictly no-go deadly zone
I don't know what I'm doing here
'Cause it's not my scene at all
There's an A-bomb in Wardour Street
They've called in the army
They've called in the police too
I'm stranded on the vortex floor
My head's been kicked in
And blood's started to pour
Through the haze I can see my girl
15 geezers got her pinned to the door
I try to reach her but fall back to the floor
A-bomb in Wardour Street
It's blown up the West End
Now it's spreading through the city
A-bomb in Wardour Street
It's blown up the city
Now it's spreading through the country
Law and order take a turn for the worst
In the shape of a size 10 boot
Rape and murder throughout the land
And they tell you that you're still a free man
If this is freedom I don't understand
'Cause it seems like madness to me
A-bomb in Wardour Street, hate bomb
Hate bomb, hate bomb, hate bomb
A Philistine nation of degradation
And hate and war, there must be more
It's doctor Martin's A P O C A L Y P S E
Apocalypse!
My favourite Jam track.
Great 3 piece band.

Fridays? That show was Belgium tv? Are you sure about that?
Yep. Holy Mother of God!!!
I just wish his vocal had more clarity. Could anyone hearing this for the first time decipher a single word of what he's singing?
Nice one mate...
David Wright Cheers
Foxton=Genius
Unreal bass player
Paul Weller trying to be Pete Townshend before he realised he was Paul Weller.

Day 101 Bday
Mod for it
Why is Paul dressed like Luke Skywalker?
Reminds me of the jackets the Beatles wore at Shea Stadium
I'm guessing that here Weller uses the old bit of driftwood before he scratched I am nobody on it.
this song punk as fuck
Terrible guitar sound
