    Holy Stone was nice enough to send an additional *10% OFF coupon* , on top of any other coupons/discounts! Enter this code T4HTYTRA at this link: amzn.to/3IBKAvI This is my experience based on a sample of 1, but this one works dandy. I'm hearing feedback that others have had issues with this model, but is there something with geographic location, calibration technique/sequence, Holy Stone quality control, or ? Let us know your experiences in the comments, it can only help us in the industry and Holy Stone if we can report out collective experiences. I did note after this review if you fly with 8 or 9 satellites (8 is minimum) it is not as stable. If I let it find 13 or 14 then it sits really well. Remember, if it doesn't work for you in your area (depends on how the satellites are in your area), work with technical support or send it back! _Nobody_ should be satisfied with a product that doesn't work, regardless of the reason. Please note: If you comment "it sucks" 10 times in the feed, not helpful... Good Flying all... 😎

      Haha,
      When tried to fly the first one it would not hover well at all. I’ve heard the term “toilet bowling” used to describe how it hovered. So I returned it. After watching several more videos here on YT, I’ve concluded the issue was almost certainly pilot error and not an issue with the drone. Very likely I did not do something during set up or did something wrong. Once our new weather issue clears here, I’ll check it out. I also obtained my TRUST certificate.

    Sorry but I gotta disagree with you on this one. The Syma X5C can be picked up for about 25 bucks, and is so steady, it is hard to believe it does not have a barometer in the thing. I still play with them even though I have about six drones worth far far more than the Syma, but it is so much fun and the stress factor is very low. It is also relatively indestructible.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an interesting but difficult answer because it depends on how I personally rate the different functions and operation with my own biases in place. That being said, compared against other drones at $220, for the _sale price_ its +/- 7.5- 8. The drawbacks being the 2k camera, the 2 axis gimbal and the loss of video that wouldn't reconnect automatically at 500m (kind of includes the range). It also includes multiple batteries, props, and a nice case, so if you get those same items in a kit with another brand the price is going to end up nearly double that. I can only speak for the single unit I have and I hope HS has addressed some of the quality control issues they've had in the past so ALL of them fly perfectly, but this test of one did fly well and controlled great. Hope that helps!

    The difference between a drone, like the DJI Mini at $400 and the Holystone drone you are reviewing for $230 are like night and day. I can remember how infuriating it was to fly cheaper drones and have them fly off on their own. I lost enough money to have purchased a good DJI drone in the process. I know that it is difficult for some people to reach the price point of a DJI, Autel or Skydio product but, I always recommend that they buy a product at least like an xiomi for around $400.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you, DJI Does do a good job overall and they have the largest market share for a reason, BUT this drone did fly and control really well and it is priced fair. They have obviously been listening and are trying to advance so I have to give them credit there, and I have had a DJI mini fly-away so that's not eliminated with DJI for sure. Of course some really cheap drones are not worth getting unless it's

    Hi Keith, I currently have a hs260 drone. Looking to upgrade to something with gps and maybe a brushless motor. Hoping to keep it at or below $200. Would you be so kind as to make a recommendation? Thanks for the videos!

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! I can understand why you'd like to keep GPS and brushless motors as a baseline for sure. Another item that that is a consideration is how good you need the camera to be, and that can make a bigger difference in pricing. That being said, for that price range I would point you towards two models in that are good value for the price: 1) No stabilized camera but a great flier and does decent with pics in good light, but a decent price is the Ruko U11 pro here: th-cam.com/video/DgaUesc8qUA/w-d-xo.html . Be careful to watch the links on Amazon as they have some models that seem surprisingly cheaper for some reason, but if you look close you'll find that the cheaper one is brushed motors, and they kind of hide it. I've had a few people tell me they found even a better deal than the one I mentioned, but when I look it is the brushed model, and I agree with you, go for the brushless for sure. 2) The other model I'd mention is the Potensic ATOM SE here: th-cam.com/video/TPthga9ZgtE/w-d-xo.html . This one is also a great flier and does not have a gimbal but does have a decent EIS, so the video and pics are pretty good if you're looking for a decent video and pics. It is a little more $ but you do get a much better camera and a bit better overall build. It is also brand new tech released just a few months ago and I think they nailed it. Many viewers got this one and tell me in the comments that they really love them. Check the links in the video descriptions for the Amazon links. These are the best ones I can recommend for the bottom dollar, and have recommended both of these to family in the past. The family I actually like, not the other kind, lol. Hope this helps! 😎😎

    • @Jeffrey-oi9fn
      @Jeffrey-oi9fn ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the quick response! I looked at a couple videos on the Ruko u11 Pro. It looks like a nice unit. It is currently priced about the same as the HS360 at about $239. Though I did talk HS into giving me a 10% coupon code. What would be your pick when looking at these two drones?

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jeffrey-oi9fn The difference in functionality is that on paper the HS360 is better because of the 3-axis gimbal. The thing that causes concern is that HS has some type of ongoing QC problem, inconsistency in their GPS and stability, having a lot of reports of toilet bowling, meaning circling out of control and crashing. If you get a good one and you're in a area with the satellite reception that works with it, it could work just fine. If you get a marginal one it can really ruin your experience. The one I tested worked good most of the time, but depending where I flew it it became less stable. So if you're willing to give it a shot and you get a good one it is pretty decent for the price. If it doesn't work I hear technical support is good so hopefully they can work it out until you get one that works.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comments! It really depends on your area, some areas have a lot of jobs, others not as many. Again, it depends on the job you are looking to fill but I would think this model is marginal because of the 2k video, but if someone only needs pics of a roof or something then the 4k pics are no problem. My gut feel is that if no one is going to see/interview you in person then you're fine. If they want to come and watch, then it's possible clients might want to see a big fancy setup with multiple cases pulled out, gives a feel of professionalism. Even pulling out a DJI mini, you risk a client asking "where's the rest?" It's all about perception in my book, but I've been standing there a few times so maybe I'm more in tune with it than some... Hope that helps!

    Not a bad beginner drone. How would you compare it to the DJI Mavic MINI SE as far as image and flight for the price difference? I haven't seen an SE, but it does seem to have the MINI 2 body, ESC's, motors, props and battery? A lot better performance than my original Mavic MINI. Are you allowed to compare between brands?

    • @FlyZoneFpv
      @FlyZoneFpv 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no comparison. The Dji mini will blow it away. You get what you pay for. But this would be ok for someone on really low budget and beginner. But for $299 you can now get the original Mavic mini. 🤙👍

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The DJI Mini SE is a really nice drone for sure. DJI does do a really good job with stability and controllability and because it is a newer model it has a lot of new tech under the hood compared to the original mini, as you eluded to, and of course they are a market leader for a reason. Wish it would have a follow mode and 4k video, but then again for the price, 2k vid and limited function is what you get. Any brands I work with don't get to review or influence my content before it is published so any views are my own regarding comparisons, but in this case the HS360 is a _great_ improvement for Holy Stone and it really does fly well (this is the best Holy Stone I've ever tested) and I'm happy to see they are advancing and shooting for a low price point. With 2 batteries, a nice case, extra props, a $200 ish price point (on sale) and spot-on GPS is really stepping it up, but that 2-axis gimbal stings a bit in a head-to head comparison... One thing I don't want anyone to take-away from my reviews is that I'm a DJI Fanboy, or Holy Stone, or EXO, or ... I absolutely love testing out all the different brands as they are all businesses trying to create a successful product and as I've been doing this for a few years now I can really see the industry improving, which is great for you and I, the consumer. I try not to tell everyone "buy XYZ drone" but point out the negatives and positives as I see it and leave the final decision up to you because everyone's reason for purchasing is different so the final decision is kind of personal. Sorry for typing so much but I'm guessing you are probably not the only one making some comparisons so hopefully this helps... Good Flying!

    Could you please tell me what kind of issues you have with the GPS l have a 720e that has the toilet bowl effect , goes out of control.lf l turn the switch to the off position drone flys perfect still showing GPS satellites in the off position

    • @AlienDrones

      Indeed, if you have _toilet bowling_ it is a control issue where the electronics are trying to adjust for position based on the GPS and either the signal is too low or the control system is designed/programmed poorly and it starts circling out of control, usually crashing or flying away. I really had a problem with a similar model like you have: th-cam.com/video/ATlT6ApKX8s/w-d-xo.html . If you turn the GPS off it will ignore the GPS for positioning which is fine, but I don't think the return to home will work on lost signal or low battery. If the model has it, not really not that much you can do about it but change models or even to a different brand. It shouldn't do that, period. There are plenty of other very stable, low cost drones out there... Hope that helps.

      -11 deg F, -33 deg F wind chill today. Mine would do more than toilet bowl, it would become a flying ice sculpture, in 30 seconds, drop like rock and shatter into a thousand pieces... ❄❄ I've found that if I have 14-15 satellites it does pretty well, lower than that it is proportionally less stable.

    I just bought the HS360s from Amazon.....flew it 3 times and am sending it back. It wouldn't maintain signal even 75-80 feet away. The video quality was horrible and controlling the angle of the camera was way to touchy to be useful. I saw the same problems on other reviews. Too bad, I had big hopes.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This video was for the 360, not the 360s, did you mean to post this on the 36S video th-cam.com/video/SGAFlLAYChw/w-d-xo.html ? Holy Stone did make it confusing by having such different models only differentiated by the letter "S". If you have the 360S, I'm surprised it had a connection issue as this has that new transmission protocol and was a really good flyer. Easily went out 1500' with no loss of connection at all. It is not a stabilized camera (no gimbal) so the video is terrible but pics were just fair.

    The follow me mode will NOT work for me, and GPS follow is horrible. The quad turns away from me in gps follow. It's a useless mode. The image follow will never follow me. Mr Alien, what am I doing wrong???

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like the GPS is not being recognized properly, either too weak, too much interference or the drone itself is too weak to see them. I did have a different model holy stone turn away and run from me when I tried a follow once, I don't remember which one but I remember showing it in the review video. Honestly, it should not be very hard to make it work, something is just sketchy with the GPS. Just curious, how many satellites do you show when you calibrate? I just walked in from trying this again, and if there are trees/buildings and I get 9 or even 10, the signal drops out now and then and becomes unstable, starts bowling on me. If I have 12 or 13 or more, it sticks like a rock. I had good luck with the one I have but it's possible either the drone or you're area is just different, and If you can't consistently get strong signal on a lot of satellites where you are flying I don't think it will ever work right. If it's sketchy, don't even think twice, send it back and consider a different model. Nothing is more frustrating when you're not even moving and the drone turns by itself and crashes. A side note regarding image follow, did you remember to remove the protective film from the camera face? It is hard to see, might cause it not to see well, not sure.

    • @AlienDrones

      The image is probably a bit more stable on the 360 but I did freeze the gimbal on the X7, so perhaps it could get a bit better if it were in spec. I've heard so many issues with the GPS on the 360 though it is something to consider too...

    I can not get mine not to toilet bowl after several calibrations. Any Suggestions?

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems some have this issue, not sure if it is a manufacturing/product thing or a location thing that the GPS doesn't like. My advise is first try a different location (I do have a location near radio towers with iron in the ground and nearly every drone gets confused there) if it does this more than a little (a little wobble is okay) return it for replacement or repair. Drones shouldn't circle out of control if calibrated and the area doesn't have any interference. Hope this helps.
