      @@HubCityDrones so steeping up I think and going with DJI mini pro 4
      It’s a big dent to the wallet

    I find it a bit odd that there are only 2 videos on TH-cam that mention Gyro Calibration including yours, and there is definitely no mention of it in the instruction manual.
    Maybe this oversight is the reason why some people seem to have problems. Thank you for including in your video.

    new subscriber here, wow, you do a super amazing job of reviewing this HS360S, by the time you are done I dont even have to look in the manual as you cover absolutely everything. Watching from Alberta Canada, just picked up this drone from FB marketplace for 100 dollars cdn. I think it was maybe only flown once (if that) as all the plastic covers were still on the camera and screen. Will watch your video once more tomorrow before I fly it. Once again, thx for the outstanding review and tutorial.

      @@HubCityDrones thx, I had a chance to fly this drone after I watched your video a few times and wrote down and followed every single step that you did, I followed it to the letter and it flew great and flew exactly like you said, but I was wondering..........after the compass calibration, you have a gyro calibration step at video time of 28:48, in the video you say that you couldn't find anything in the manual about this step, I then watched the operation video put out by Holy Stone where they go over every step but they dont do the gyro calibration, in fact there is no mention of it at all. Anyway, I then flew the drone without this step and it flew just as good as the flights I did the way you did them. Where did you get this step from and why should it be done ? Thx.

    • @HubCityDrones
      @HubCityDrones  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @peterfrenzel1826 the Gyro calibration is what the dro e uses to maintain it altitude hold (Hover) it also tells the drone when more or less power is needed to each propeller motor to compensate for the wind speed and to keep the drone level!

    • @peterfrenzel1826
      @peterfrenzel1826 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HubCityDrones its amazing the technology that they build into these drones for such a low price, thx for the info, actually, yes, when I followed your steps I did clearly hear different motors sounds and I thought that there was something wrong with the drone motors and was worried that one of them might quit, thinking thats what I get for buying off of facebook lol, then when flying without the gyro calibration step the drone motors all sounded even (in sync) and I was happy thinking something cleared up and the drone will be fine lol....... but I would rather have the drone stable and properly compensating for the wind so I will follow your way. Anyway, thanks again for your in depth outstanding video.

      Unfortunately there isn't a factory reset, make sure you have your phone connected to the controller with rc cable and allow all the permissions on your phone if they pop up, power on the drone and everything should connect automatically, it can take a couple of minutes sometime for everything to connect.

  • @RDsRCReviews

    Can't say I completely agree that this is Holy Stone's most advanced drone being that it has no gimbal though the improved range is nice. You may not be aware but the new HS720R will be out in a few weeks. I just reviewed it and it has 3KM range, 3-axis gimbal and time lapse modes though it's not RID compliant and it is supposed to be so that's a huge issue. It is a very good drone that's far more advanced than the 360S. However, the HS360S is a good drone. My friend just finished filming his review of the HS360S and he says it is the best Holy Stone drone he's flown. At this moment though I would purchase the original HS360 over this simply for the 2-axis or the 720G as well. I do like the new TX design. Is Spydi really the name of the new video transmission tech or is that just the name of the drone??? I'm also surprised that the new 720R doesn't use this new video transmission because it's advertised at 3KM range and it's WIFI based. I had it out a half a mile and the video feed on 5Ghz WIFI was rock solid which isn't usually the case for anything WIFI based. Most WIFI drones are also super laggy at that distance and the 720R isn't. Sorry for the rambling.....

    • @HubCityDrones
      @HubCityDrones  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh am Aware if the HS720R I have had one for 2 weeks now to do my review video, awesome 4K 30fps cam on a 3-Axis Gimble, but unfortunately there are a couple of small issues with some of the programming, it was supposed to be launched today but theg are pushing the launch date to sometime next month, Holy Stone also has a Remote ID module (HSRID01) that has been approved by the FAA and will be available in September

    Thanks for a very through video, it should help me a lot being a newbie to drones. I bought one of these a few days ago but haven't gotten it outside yet, been too windy here. Hopefully tomorrow. My main reason for getting a drone was to eliminate me having to climb a 30' ladder to reach my upper gutters this fall. Not a spring chicken anymore so climbing ladders is getting harder to do with a bad hip. Still this looks like a fun little gizmo and maybe it will have other uses so I picked up an extra battery for it since the short battery life would likely take me forever to learn to fly it. Unfortunately I heehawed around for a couple days while thinking of the extra battery and the price went up $10 overnight...bummer, so it cost me more than I wanted to spend but what are you going to do if you need it! Thank you for the video and your expertise on this!

    Great review! Does it have headless mode?
    Also, how did you find out about moving the joysticks up & away for gyro calibration? Is that in the manual? What does that calibration do that the previous calibrations didn't do?

    • @HubCityDrones
      @HubCityDrones  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No it does not have headless mode, there are 2 calibration that need to be done, "Compass Calibration" -when you turn the drone, and a "Gyro Calibration" - that you do while the drone is on a flat level surface- it help calibrate the sensors the drone uses to maintain a stable and level hover. Wish I hadn't ordered a 2nd battery , realized in the app you get a link for a free battery . Blah. I thought the transmitter was defective. Yes when hit the RTH Button the drone will shoot up to the defualt return to home hight or you can set the RTH height to the height you want in the settings, just make sure you set it high enough that the drone will not hit anything on its way back, No Obstacle Avoidance!!!

    I found a nice adapter on Amazon so I don't have to take off the case on my iPhone to connect it to my controller. Seems to work great. I don't see any numbers on the GPS lock so I assume it doesn't tell you how many GPS locks you have?

    How does the return home button work, does it go to the controller or is there a way to mark it to make it return home in the right area

    • @HubCityDrones
      @HubCityDrones  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The drone will lock onto the GPS coordinates of the spot it Take off from, it stores those coordinates in its memory and when you tap the RTH Button the drone will fly back to those coordinates and land, keep in mind that every drone usually misses the exact takeoff spot by about 3ft or so, sometimes you'll get lucky and it will land right on the landing pad, also remember to set your return to home height to a height that will allow the drone to return home without flying into anything (trees, power lines, light poles ect) there is no obstacle avoidance on this drone!

    • @HubCityDrones
      @HubCityDrones  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't had any real issues with the video feed, it's pretty stable, it does get glitchy when your close to the max FPV Range, but it also depends on where your flying because SO many things can interfere with that signal, home wife signals, power lines, trees ect, they all play havoc on the video feed signal! Won't the ID module put the drone over weight? By the way, a extra battery on Ebay is $70., but Amazon has them for $60.
    Will the registration sticker put it over weight? I also have concerns that the strobe light will put it over weight.

    • @HubCityDrones
      @HubCityDrones  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't need a remote ID module if your drone weights under 249g and your a recreational pilot, the sticker definitely won't put it over and the strobe lights are usually super light weight and small so I think you'll be ok there too! If anything, put everything on it and place the drone on a kitchen scale and check the weight!!!

    • @HubCityDrones
      @HubCityDrones  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure what you mean about pair. The controller is the only thing that has to be paired, but it pairs itself to the drone automatically when you power the controller and the drone on, you don't necessarily have to a Compass, and Gyro Calibration, the compass calibration gives the drone a more accurate GPS reading so it's best to do it at the location where your flying, the Gyro Calibration gives the drone a more stable hover so technically you only have to do a Gyro Calibration if you notice the drone is not hovering right or is not flying accurately when you use the joysticks on the controller. The App has a few new intelligent features

    • @HubCityDrones

      The only thing I can think of is that it's not finding enough satellite signals for it to be in safe GPS node, if I remember right you can hold tge return to home button in for about 5 seconds and it will take the drone out of GPS Mode and put it in Attitude Mode, you should be able to unlock the motors in Attitude Mode if that works then the drone isn't finding enough satellite signals, it can take as much as a minute or two to find enough satellites

I have held it down for 10-20 seconds, even a minute! It just does not want to stay on! Today would have been it's maiden flight. Not every RC Cars/Drones/Airplanes/Boats/Helicopters arrives perfect. So I bought this drone some weeks ago and have flown it a few times. I nearly lost it while showing my brother in law it who actually sells commercial drones for a living. I had it go a ways out and started to lose video so I did a return to home on it. I set the RTH altitude to like 100 ft. I was talking to him not paying attention and it crashed into a tree. I discovered that it does not stay at that height and gradually lowers altitude anyway as it comes home. Anyone experienced this or am I not understanding that function?

    • @driewiel
      @driewiel 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is 100 feet high from where it took off. So if there is a hill it may fly into it. And how high were those trees? ( before you chopped them down).
      I'm not saying it isn't a problem of the drone. If it doesn't fly straight back at 100 feet then that's not good. Only time drones don't is when they are very close like 100 yards or less. Then they won't rise up to the altitude you set.

    • @Nunyali5lx
      @Nunyali5lx 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@driewiel This is very flat terrain. The trees were not mine and some other home If I had to guess probably around 50 to 60 feet. They were very tall. I took off and had it go maybe 150 ft up and the flew it at that altitude and did not drop the altitude at all prior to hitting the RTH button. So it definitely lost height as it was on its way back. Im going to test it out again tomorrow somewhere safer in a big field instead of a a crowded area. I think the crash did do something though cause the video range is absolute garbage and lose video feed to my phone after about 25 feet up. But I live in a very urban area and could be the RF noise.

      @HubCityDrones  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Double check your RTH height in the app settings, I keep mine right around 120/130ft, the drone shouldn't lose altitude on it's way back, unless it's windy, then it may fluctuate 2 or 3ft to adjust for the wind speed!

    👎this drone flys ok it is not as stable as they claim
    2 it will not cover the range they are claiming
    3 it does not have E I S so the image is shaky
    The tracking is gps it has nothing to do with the subject you are trying to capture
    If you hold the drone still it takes a great picture
    But that’s not the point is it
    This drone has potential but it’s not even close yet
    It comes with only one battery that maybe lasts 15 to 20 minutes at best
    It took me several attempts to pair it controller to drone and several times it didn’t connect to my phone screen ( no video ) I had to switch off and start over and all this time it’s using the battery
    So once everything is ready to fly you’ve lost 20 percent of your flying time
    If you are a experienced pilot of these drones you can probably move through this process a little faster
    Then when you try and use some of the features that takes more time from your battery
    By the time you have it figured out you’re out of battery? And it only comes with 1
    I have multiple chargers in my vehicle and they are high output 3.0 but this thing will only charge on low output chargers and it TAKES 6 + hours for just 20 minutes of usage
    So pack it up your done for the day
    But they offer a free battery as a gift AFTER YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT. WHY
    JUST PUT IT IN THE BOX and give us some time to use it
    So sending mine back.
    I need a camera that tracks what you choose to film and not just wonders at will and definitely one that comes with more than one freaking battery
    No one wants to drive for hours just to get 10 minutes of footage and with out image stabilizing and tracking you might have a minute of footage that you can use
