About the game:

Olivier is extremely good at making his work reflect the feel of the environment and situation. I reckon Dying Light 2 wouldn't be the same if you turned off the music

Yehhh, 'Vampyr's soundtrack is the one that caught my attention. - It made me go like "wtf, this is weird, but I like it".
Alone in the Dark is a masterpiece
If you have a chance to check "A Plague Tale", he did amazing on that one, too. One of my favorites.

I was pretty much doubtful of the OST when it was announced it was going to be a different composer from the first game. But looks like I've got nothing to worry about

@@tommyblade5574 - I don't think this because they did such a good job on the first game (not so much 'Dead Island', sadly, but 'Dying Light' was their retry of that). - But also, they put their heads down on this second one without ever overhyping anything with outlandish promises (like certain other companies) or even giving a release-date and just giving an estimation. - I understand why people won't believe anyone anymore, their doubt isn't unjustified. Though, people, especially gamers, are also overly cynical nowadays, wilfully ignoring details in context and being childishly contrary, when it's not necessary at all. - Just wait and see if you have doubts, otherwise take it or leave it.
I didn't even know it would be a different composer. - But as soon as I saw that, and also that it's Olivier Derivière, I was actually a bit more excited. - I've heard some of his other soundtracks, like that of the game 'Vampyr', and most other people would probably know his work on "Plague Tale", and it's good stuff. - He has a rather "weird" approach to mysic. As a musician myself, my initial response to most of his music is actually "wtf why, why that note, why that sound". But that's also a good thing because it's surprising and refreshing, rather than getting yet another generic "epic" wannabe-Hollywood soundtrack shoved into your earholes. - It seems to be the case with this soundtrack once again, still a little traditional, but mixed in with some unique weirdness here and there to give it its own style, while actually also retaining a bit of what Pawel Blaszczak did for the first game. - Why he isn't involved, I don't know, it would've been cool to have seen a collaboration, but I think he's been too busy.

I remember finishing DL1 in 2015 and fell in love then the following came out in 2016
then I thought that was it
But then I was watching the reveal trailer of DL2 in 2018 and it was surreal
Then the gameplay demo back in 2019 and I was hyped beyond reason
Fast forward, Now I'm finishing Yr 12 and listening to the main theme
Absolutely crazy cannot wait
Honestly it's one of the most original and best soundtracks I heard in the world of video games since few years.

PS: I would be very happy if all BONUS tracks also make it into the digital version of the soundtrack. I bought the ULTIMATE Edition with great pleasure. + the first part, which is actually not that easy to come by in Germany. I am fascinated. What a comment...!

I heard that the music in this game will amp up as you parkour and do abunch of crazy action shit and than it will tone down as you stand still and enjoy the views thats so creative and so music is not only scripted it also runs through gameplay im so stoked for that!

Oh so this is the composers that made the music in Alone in the dark, (man the memories are flooding in of me playing this on ps2 or ps3 ) the music was phenomenal and Amazing it really gave that sense of shock, amazement and most of mystery.

0:59 it really fits with dying light music, well it is using the same instruments from the first tying light songs, i think that's why it feels like it, i really wanna parkour and fight while listening to this song, can someone tell me what instrument they are using for the main song beat.

Ah, the composer speaks. - He has been a bit of a mystery to me since I got to know a few of his soundtracks. - It's always fascinating to see who is behind those creations. XD
But it sounds awesome. I love his rather "weird" or slightly twisted style or approach to music, so it will never be generic and more surprising and refreshing.
Also recommend ones like 'Vampyr', "Plague Tale", 'Remember Me', and 'Greedfall'. - None of his work sounds really the same though.

First theme since the Danny Elfman Spidey and Batman themes, the Jurassic Park and Superman theme to really give me this sense of wonder, especially near the end

This game looked like it might never come out 6 months ago. So happy how it looks as of now! Story doesn't need to be amazing, just want a bigger map with some dynamic interactions and choices.

I like the first one, but I don't love it. - A lot of the time it was a bit too understated and same-y, with definite exceptions throughout.
But, while I didn't dislike it, I think it was a good idea to bring someone else in and do something different. - You don't want to do the same thing over.
The game seems like it will be on another level, not exactly the same thing as the first, so the soundtrack should reflect that.
And even in just the stuff they've let us hear so far, you can hear it has a bit of the essence of the first in it, which I really like. - It seems like they're doing it justice.
Finally a game were i don't have to go straight to settings & turn down the music's volume😅
EXTREMELY huge shoes to fill, if it wasn't for Pawel, Dying Light wouldn't of been as effective as a horror game, he set the tone with his amazing score for dying light and the following, Oliver better bring his A game.
