I just started to read a Christmas Carol book from one of my libraries. And this movie is so accurate I can't but seeing these scenes when I read each part.
Disney's a Christmas Carol is an Epic movie, I also love how they filmed this and I also love the fact that they got Jim Carrey to speak as Scrooge. If they went with somebody else for Scrooge they probably would have messed it up.
Not only did he do the voice he did the motion capture for Scrooge! If you look behind the scenes you will see the process and his characteristics and expressions he actually did and he did them spot on! Jim Carrey is awesome 😎 x
For those who don’t know, the reason why Marley’s jaw is bound up is because, to keep the dead man’s mouth from opening into a gaping maw, they’d bind the jaw shut with a handkerchief or a piece of cloth. Today, modern funeral homes stitch the mouth closed with metallic suturing used just behind the lips. A good case example of the former tradition was uncovered during the exhumation of three of the crew members of the Franklin Expedition. The cold environment not only preserved their soft body features, but it also preserved the clothing they wore as well as the cloth that was bound around their jaw. John Torrington, the most well-preserved of the three, has the most visible example of this, which you can see online (if you dare wish to look). This is also why, in all of the adaptations, we see Marley still wearing the jaw binding as _that_ was the last image Scrooge had in mind of his old friend. It is a Memento Mori - a reminder of death - that is used to remind Scrooge of the reality of his own mortality and what his fate could be.
Just watched the behind the scene of this, this is such as good version and the cast is quite famous with faces such as Jim Carrey Daryl Sabara (spy kids) Colin Firth (mamma mia, etc) and Gary Oldman (Harry potter)
