Some weeks before I lost my job, dont know why. This is a horrible financial situation, especially BEFORE christmas, you cant pay the rent for the flat, not to speak of buying a christmas tree ... God knows where I will find a new one. But despite this situation I wont give up my hopes for a new beginning in 2025!❤ Every year, I watch this movie and I enjooooy it, it gives hope and some sort of love! Beautiful GREAT MOVIE Happy christmas to ALL of you! 🌲🌹🌲🌹🌲🌹

Thank You very much+ I like life were ingrained in my memory for life. This has always been my very favorite version of the Christmas Carol out of all the different versions. It's not Christmas 🎄 with out Albert Finney Merry Christmas 🎄
I liked this movie a lot, and I usually don't like musicals. This one was so well done and the actors are so talented! I especially loved hearing the young lads singing in the beginning of the movie, they were great! Don't pay attention to the negative comments.
Thank you! I've now seen 4 versions of this tale, and this is the only one that shows Scrooge coming to experience his eternal destiny. This is my favorite Christmas movie, and what a version this turned out to be!
The Best Scrooge movie ever, my late wife and I always watched this without fail after our christmas meal with the kids, the songs, the story and the relevance to christmas is unmatched.
I've read and reread A Christmas Carol and I think this is one of the finest versions put to screen. Yes it's true that it isn't a word for word, scene for scene by the book portrayal but what it is, so close to what Dickens' was trying to make people see. The songs are wonderful, the costume well designed. I have different copies of this and am glad to watch it a couple times a year. Happy that others gat as much joy from it as I do.
it is not a Christmas Carol though they even change the name because it was rewritten… I find it disrespectful of Charles Dickens… And Dickens told and portrayed the image of what he wanted people to see… He wanted people to use their own imaginations so they would understand it better…… It was more personal when he told it the way he told it instead of turning it into a show like this… If you want Hollywood this is it…
Scooge zegt wel dingen die wel waar zijn in zijn iedereen, maar als mensveel negatieve gedachten de film is uniek zo vaak gezien maar het verhaal is prachtig en de film is prachtig ❤😊
I love in this version that Marley takes Scrooge to Hell after the Ghost of Christmases to come is done with him I thought that was an excellent addition
This one is my favorite! This one he goes to hell. This version is absolutely fantastic! The transformation to young and old Albert Finney was amazing!
Iconic in UK 🇬🇧 every year watching this adorable festive Christmas film a tradition!! guessing other countries too! Albert Finney one of the best and most memorable Ebenezer Scrooge characters ever!! Have to add i adore Charles Dickens and all his works Xxxx UK 🇬🇧 😊
My absolute favorite Christmas movie for my entire life! A family favorite and yes we know all the songs by heart and now the grandkids do as well! An absolute must on Christmas eve every year! Thank you for positing it! Happy New Year to all!💚🎄
Many version ... besides Albert Finney , there were also Kelsey Grammar ( also musical ) , Patrick Steawrt , George C. Scott , Jim Carey ( laminated ) , etc .

I like watching all the different versions of A Christmas Carol. Over christmas (It's so Christmasesy). My number one is this one 1970, then Alistair SIMs version, 1951, then George C. Scott 1984. Then the muppet's Christmas Carol.1992 Which is now all free on TH-cam. HAPPY DAYS I like the word "free" 🇬🇧
It’s been a couple years since they played this movie on Turner classic movies for the holidays. I don’t understand why they stop showing it for the holidays. I hope show it in December.
I watched the best version of this story last night. Alister Simms version. And to the channel owner its called a Christmas Carol not Christmas transformation ffs.
The actor you refer to is called Alastair (NOT Alister) Sim (NOT Simms). Small detail, but you know, people in glass houses …..The channel owner probably chose the title to avoid getting the upload removed. And lastly - tastes do differ
I saw this version Albert Finney as Scrooge in 70 when it came out in theathers. It is interesting to point out that one of the cast members, PADDY STONE was director/choreographer of Fizzewig's Christmas dance numbers, "Dec the 25" & Father Christmas, & THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Also: He played The Ghost Of Christmas yet to Come, though NOT "Charles Dickens Correct" The Ghost of Christmas Yet to come, WAS NOT THE GRIM REAPER !!! Skeleton 💀 Face & Hands ! Nor the trip to Hell. But this was a 🎼 Musical Version of Dicken's Novella, so anything goes.
When That happens, I right away quit watching the video, Now I saw it in the comments and I watch only less then a minute and check it out, but you're right. It's not worth it to spend time watching a movie that's not compleet. Thank you for your comment.
@@RancheroTierra Same here. Very disappointed. I've moved on to the Chris Barrs version (2019) it is very dark and grim, but a well done adaption of this classic.
I love all versions of scrooge and a christmas carol. Even Simon Callow version. Patrick Stewart version excellent too. And ghe the 2021 version by bbc stars guy Pearce and Another one previously starring Ross Kemp. All have different a twist as that's what directors do. they're the auteur. I watch many versions leading up to Christmas.
After all these years of watching every version of this I can find, I just realized Ebeneezer is a loan shark. “Come over here you weird little man.” 😆
Not the best version but it’s entertaining. Albert Finney was a decent Scrooge. I think we watched it one year off of the tv and with commercials so it took a long time to finish it. The songs are pretty good and memorable. I remember Alec Guinness as Marley with his freaky walk.
The one scene they always cut down a bit on live TV was when Scrooge falls into his grave and ends up in Hell then greeted by Marley again. I guess they did that so it wouldn't scare little kids too much.

I have been watching this version since it was released. Every year, never fail. I am now 68 years old. Nothing comes close to this version.
How easy/hard was it to watch in the 70s before VHS/DVD/Blu Ray?
This is my favorite version, every year I see it and it moves me to tears, and this year I turned 69!

Definitely my favorite Ebenezer- especially as Albert Finney is both old & young Ebenezer!
Have you seen the version with George C. Scott???
@@kokovaleto I have- and he's great! But this one combined with Loesser's music is my favorite!
Albert Finney stars in a series called “ uncle Silas “ where he really is now an old man! Old and plump but still a lady chaser.

I watch most every Christmas Carol version every Christmas season & this never disappoints. The songs are all so sing-a-long & memorable!
