    I enjoyed the video. Easy for me to follow. Got a question though, when you installed this hot end, did you have to mess with the "coding" or parameters of the printer since this is upgraded from what it came with? If so, how did you go about doing this. Thanks

    I have been a sub since your first rgh. Your channel has grown over the years. I must say you did a good job with what you wanted to do. I am going to buy this printer and I hope to use your videos at some point to mod the printer once I have had some moderate experience with it. I've RGH'd at least 20 consoles how much harder can this be XD? I also love the raspberry Pis. Keep up the content and good job!

    Coming from the 360 scene where every LED you come in contact with is green, I cant stand seeing LEDs changed from blue to green lol. Worked out pretty good in this particular case though. Good job bro!

      hahaha I get it red or blue was always the way to go, going green seems like you are doing it wrong. Only did it because I had a lot of green leds as well as new I was going to print the pi case in green otherwise I would have gone with like a red!

    i subbed! awesome, now to find some detailed instructions (step by step) to install the after market E3D hotend. i really want to do this mod so if the hot end fails i can just replace it. feel like im walking on pins and needles using the mp select hot end. i did purchase the petg to print it out in. so one step closer.

    Thanks I put a magnetic stick on bed but now the print nozzle hits the bed. I will try your method to increase the distance from the bed to the nozzle. Thanks again Richard

    Does that new hot end allow different materials to be printed such as Ninjaflex or does that require some other extruder?

    You should do the heated bed mod before you start seeing 999.
    That happened to me last week and yesterday I did the mod. Works great again.

    Dude,I was a tool and die maker, and ran CNC everything, from 5 axis mills and even profile grinders, I have been in sales the lasdt 10 years, so not quite up on everything, some yes, Ive been thinking alot about getting a 3d printer, what kind of cad/cam software do you use? , can you use, what is the most popular/vs. cheap, or free. I know its alot of questions. if you dont want to answer all of them, its cool, if you do, thanks, you ROCK brother. What can you recommend for someone like me? im all ears, Thx man!!

    Shouldn't the fans be wired the other way around? From what i have been reading you should be able to turn the LAYER COOLING FAN OFF when printing ABS

    • @ModBotArmy
      @ModBotArmy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +nilton61 the other slot on the board does nothing your better off installing a physical switch that you can turn off when printing abs. I never had issues with the little bit of abs printing I did even with the fan

    • @ModBotArmy

      +DrDuck7700 glass bed makes bottom smooth new hotend helped with quality but also strength cooling fan for first layer also helps with quality on pla

    www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078DL1C64/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3K0Z59F8V0HKE&psc=1 This is an alternate hot end. I was wondering if you thought it might be okay, or better since it comes with extra parts. The wiring looks a little different maybe. I just started using mine after a half year break and the hot ends ruined.

  • @jmagella254

    And does it print better?

    • @ModBotArmy
      @ModBotArmy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only things that I did that could affect print was the hotend/additional fan and yes I do feel my prints are stronger and a bit more accurate. The bed upgrade did not really make them print better although they do stick better I just like the gloss finish on the bottom of the prints that the glass gives off unlike the aluminum

      Also, did you reuse the thermistor from the stock extruder.

    • @ModBotArmy
      @ModBotArmy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Luke Hansen yes! For simplicity and the sale of not having to rewire or change settings I reused both the stock thermister and heater cartridge

    I heard according amazon reviews that this printer is just for 5-10 projects, and , then , some parts will brake or you need to repair. It's like disposable printer. Is it true?

    • @inactive67
      @inactive67 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bad news all printers break, with any cheaper item factory parts are not going to usually be an option. 3d printers are not toasters you have work on them.

    • @johnbasterson7938

      You heard wrong. You can watch peoples videos and they clearly print dozens of things without major component failures. Maintenance is key for printers.
