Default armor for the win. Heavy rating with none of the turtle downsides.
You'll really notice the difference in tier 9 if you get increased rocket dev spawns. The additional 50% explosive damage resistance will allow you to tank so much more!
Hi question 🙋🏻♀️ can you talk about the speed difference and stamina difference because I’ve been using light armor with additional padding and have had a lot of trouble getting used to heavy armour. I just feel so slow and I’m always lagging behind everyone. By the time I catch up the base is already destroyed and then I’m huffing and puffing to the next marker. Most of my squad runs light, I’ve played with SOS response with the majority of players using mediums I noticed, but you said Medium armor with exp resist is B+ only?
Edit: so I noticed you were focused on level 9 only on this video? I’m an average helldiver and probably won’t be doing level 9s. For levels 4-7 can you give me a suggestion please? Or is heavy still the go to, example: I have to get comfortable with its mechanics?
For bots i use the hybrid medium armor with explosive resistance, has more stats then medium but less than heavy, can survive a rocket and some shots still without being slowed as much, for bugs i like the hybrid light armor with armor rating, enough to not die from a few hits but still fast to gtfo!

I run the shield gen pack with the extra padding light armor and I feel plenty tanky while still being able to escape tricky situations
Extra nades is super necessary IF you are running stun grenades... there are so many uses for them that usually involve immobilizing hulks to save teammates and/or line up a killshot. Rocket devastators are also high up on the target priority for stun nades if you are close enough.
I have high hopes for the heavy armor with extra armor rating to be good agaisnt the new faction, i would really love to use that for them all the time

Youre so right about light armor getting you killed a lot, so ive started pinging rocket devs and taking them out like high value targets lmao, i love my stims and light armor, also stims = invincible also i use shield generator, i play very defensively and use the extra stam for more running and so far its been doing great on 8 and 9
haha i always used light armor bcs i used it for bugs and thought it would be also good here and i wondered why I always get oneshot lol
For Bots I run the Scout Armor, Scorcher or Slugger, Smoke Grenades for easy escape when coupled with the Scout Perk, Railgun, Eagle Airstrike, Orbital Laser, and either the Shield Backpack or the 500kg.
When up against bots remember, Be The Gingerbread Man(run run run, as fast as you can, they can’t catch you, you’re the Gingerbread Man) and follow the wise words of Jack Sparrow, We Must Fight to Run Away
I feel like this video is outdated after Patch 01.000.201 on April 3rd where rocket damage & enemy accuracy was nerfed.
As a result, armours that focused on survivability are no longer "Mandatory". Light/Medium armours with other Perks may be better now.
Would love to see a more up to date video of this.
I'm very interested in doing another one I wanted to just wait for more to change before popping out another!

The Hero of the Federation armor has saved my life against the bugs and the bots so many times I will likely never switch it. Good list though.
I liked it quite a bit! but sometimes you need like 3+ 50% rolls to survive a bug or bot shooting at you! I just wanted more consistency personally!

Question. How many of y’all actually use heavy armor? Almost everyone I play with uses medic or light armor because mobility.
Only for bot missions to reduce the random one shots from rockets devs. Didnt feel like it was needed until doing 4 player tier 8-9's sometimes theres just way too many rocket devs!
you listed the AMR as S tier on your stratagem tier list. If you are using the AMR what armor would you run w/ it?
I wouldn’t mind hearing the thought process as well. I have both white explosive resist armors (medium and heavy).
My current idea is that I run the medium when I want to run a shield pack + weapon without a backpack, or the heavy armor when I go without a backpack for something like the Autocannon.
This is regarding bots, as I don’t consider the AMR a useful weapon for bugs compared to other options.
Scout armor is king
take green for 2 additional stims if mission is though or red one with 2 additional granades - everything else is garbage
Amor rating is arbitrary for the most part. Thinking off all the times I've been caught off guard by a two shield devastators. Utterly helpless.
Speed kills, give me the 550.
speed does kill, 1 rocket dev will slow you down ;)

It’s fucking crazy that you can wear the heaviest armour and die at the exact same speed as the lightest armour, all because the enemy hit headshots (which happens WAYYY TOO MUCH since the armour fix patch)
Did some calculations, if you run a light armour and get headshot by a scavenger, you’re taking like 3.2x more damage, with heavy armour you end up taking 8x damage, how is that balanced??

This was talking from the stand point of a normal tier 9, 4 player mission! Of course if you're doing stealth dont use heavy! I say that in the video

terrible recommendation for bots, you dont even have all the armors.
