He did not. I instead found him several days later in the middle of nowhere, shooting a rock. Turns out there was a molerat stuck in the rock. Truly a masterpiece of a game.

Most of the Daedric Artifact quests are unlocked after Dragon Rising, which can be completed without ever pulling out a weapon. I'd say it's definitely possible

I was playing New Vegas recently and got banned from all the Casino’s. And when you get banned the manager runs up to you and tells you you can’t play anymore. So I was thinking a good challenge would be if you could finish the game while being chased by all of the Casino managers? (Except maybe for the Atomic Wrangler because I don’t think they have a manager who approaches you).
I love the idea but I'm pretty sure the game locks you in place each time he goes to talk to you, though it's been a hot minute since I last played so I could be wrong

Skyrim also has a dialogue based multiple follower bug, but it only works with Serana and the Dark Brotherhood followers. If you attempt it with other followers, iirc it just breaks their ability to be recruited as followers. lol

When you are trying to abuse game mechanics like this or are going for 100% in one playthrough it can be a nuisance, but I do think it makes sense for role-playing purposes. Heroic characters won't want to hang out with scumbags. The only way it's really different than F4's companion system is that your companions already know ahead of time if you are someone they can get along with.

I kinda like it: A perfect (If destructive) saint isn't going to be a big fan of Jericho or Clover, and a wanna-be Negaduck isn't gonna enjoy being around Cross or Fawkes. It helps them feel like people, as opposed to Skyrim, where most companions will join you regardless of what you do.
@@RedAlchemist Then why didn't they keep the Karma system? I've never heard a single soul complain about the removal of it. As a matter of fact I believe removing the karma requirement for companions is one of the most downloaded mods on nexus. They could have made it part of the role playing but it simply isn't. Your karma is no less intuitive than your average fable decision. Did I steal? Steal=Bad. Did I give water to homeless man? Give water=good. A 5 year old wouldn't find nuance in those choices.
In almost every playthrough of Fallout 3, Sticky inexplicably dies halfway to Big Town. It’s weird, as soon as I turn around he’s dead. Sometimes he gets cut to pieces and other times he gets exploded by a stray landmine. It’s probably a bug, surely we’re meant to take him to Big Town and listen to him talk all the way there. Listen to his stories, jokes, and constant whining, right? RIGHT?!!! Here are some of my favorite lines he says over and over again: Are you lost? Are we there yet? Why is it taking so long?
Yes he went for the temporary companions. I love grabbing them and making saves to do little missions so if they kill over I still always have them. They might not be the greatest normally but they make the game great. And now I figure out I can grab all the companions as well oh boy.
Here's an idea for a run, can you beat fallout nv dead money while being chased by Victor. Victor is another one of the characters that can follow you around the Mojave and I have seen him actually follow players into the Sierra Madre. You're obviously not going to be able to do a challenge like this for the main quests due to him spawning immediately on the strip and I don't know if he'll be able to follow you into other dlc areas. Still I like to see how this sort of thing could work. There are two ways to get him to follow you that I know of 1. He will follow you if you enter the area with casadors north of good springs 2. He will follow you after meeting Jessup in Boulder city, this one I know works since he followed me into fiend territory and set off every he could in the area
You forgot Sydney can be a temporary companion that can be permanent if you side with her to make a fake declaration of independence. You can also get her unique 10mm smg multiple times with a dialogue loop.
Day 2 of asking: Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas by only reverse pickpocketing explosives? Some ideas, to spice things up. Not required by any stretch should you attempt this: 1. Only Frag Grenades, Frag Mines, and any form of dynamite, to limit your arsenal 2. Do Elder McNamera's quests to join the Brotherhood, because suffering builds character 3. A successful pocket explosion from stealth means no reputation loss, so try to have maximum reputation with as many factions as possible/you want 4. You are allowed perks and skills like Robotics expert and speech to shut down robots or talk down an opponent. With the shutting down robots, you aren't killing them, just disabling their AI and ripping their soul from the still "living" body. Have fun with this, I did this run myself so I know it's possible, even managed to get the Arcade Gannon power armor for fun so I had over 50 DT and could laugh at almost everyone in the game as they tried to hurt me. Finally. My day is made. Now, we only have one group challenge left: Can you beat Tale of Two Wastelands (mod that lets you play both fallout 3 and New Vegas at the same time) As a group? To make it interesting, add the JIP Companions mod and add permadeath EDIT: Be extra so there's no shortage of companions, since JIP lets you forcibly recruit people, you are allowed to recruit a temporary companion after you've done the quest that they are a companion for. This means the kids from Big Town, even your dad If you revive him (cause I think you can have him as a temporary follower if you go with him to Rivet City, I don't remember)

glorious as always. these can you beat x as a group challenges are truly something else lolol. also, challenge Idea, can you beat fallout 4 with only the thirst zapper? to preface, the default thirst zapper without any upgrades or mods does no damage, however, should you find the project cobalt schematics in the World of Refreshment, you can make weaponized nuka ammo. the ammo you want to beat the game with is your choice entirely, they modification ammo does a surprising amount of damage. to pass overboss colter you'd be allowed to use a weapon of choice. though that's just an idea. (accidentally sent a previous comment too soon apologies 💀)
Heck yeah! I always set aside an hour on Fridays, specifically for this. As an aside, kinda saw the outcome a mile away. Guess I was hanging out with Fawkes. All jokes aside, Dogmeat is enough to beat the game, so adding some additional gunfire in there makes it easier. Though it is also more entertaining watching a small army of followers wreck people's faces.
One way I've always been able to get Jericho and Clover was by firing Jericho and then hiring Clover and then running up to Jericho to recruit him before Clover can speak to you.
I think the reason why this happened with fawkes is because when you told him to get the geck maybe having so many companions at that moment freaked out his ai and maybe though he was apart of your group already, so when you get abducted and all of them get dismissed because he technicaly never was apart of it he got dismissed again which maybe put him into a state of lock as he is trying to be dismissed (and go to underworld where he is already) and be hired but he wants to be dismissed first which for whatever reason his ai is not marking as completed. A suggested work is Clear out the vault dismiss everyone yourself then ask for his help to getting the geck (if thats posible I forget if any doors lock behind you to force you to getting it) or make sure you have the karma to recruit him instantly outside of raven rock If neither of those work then perhaps some usage of load warping can be used to wither skip the part of the quest or break free to force events, the biggest thing that shows that fawkes wasent correctly dismissed to me is he followed you into the credits room which means he was still marked as a companion at games end (when it's supposed to be cleared so followers don't talk over the credits) Anywho love the video, you should do oblivion with only illusion magic

moriartys terminal is a super quick way to lower karma. just keep spamming the use button while the animation for the terminal opening plays and it counts all the spamming as hacking so you get heaps of bad karma

Ah, Sticky... I dragged him, Butch, and Dogmeat through the latter half of the campaign, and Sticky was literally inside the chamber at the end. I stared at him as I succumbed to radiation. Unfortunately, he didn't get to leave said chamber.
As they say, three is a group. So if there is a way to get it done without the game crashing, even if it means not having all companions, should count.
I remember doing this sort of challenge back when I was a kid, but I didn't use this glitch, there was just a specific order you can recruit all the companions in that allows you to recruit them all. I had it written down on a piece of paper the friend who told me about it gave me. I wish I could remember the order.
Great video, always love watching them in the morning before work Top tip: not sure if it still works but when you start waiting, if you open the 360 guide as soon as hit A to start the timer. It makes the waiting timer go down much faster.

9:25 "It's times like these I really wish we could wait as fast as we could in Morrowind..." I don't know if it works for Fallout 3, but I remember for Skyrim on Xbox you could speed up the wait time by pressing the Xbox button to bring up the menu over top of the game. It's not instantaneous, but it seems to go much faster.
There was another glitch I remember using with Fawkes. When you escape Raven Rock, if you fast travel out before he comes up to talk to you, get your other followers back and then fast travel back, then he'll join you regardless of who you already have. (assuming you have the karma requirements)
Hey nerbit theres an easy way to get 1000 caps straight out of the vault first you go to sliver do the speech check get 400 caps then kill her for 100 caps then help walter with the pipes in megaton for 200 caps then break into to the safe in the brass lantern for 300

I kinda like it: A perfect (If destructive) saint isn't going to be a big fan of Jericho or Clover, and a wanna-be Negaduck isn't gonna enjoy being around Cross or Fawkes. It helps them feel like people, as opposed to Skyrim, where most companions will join you regardless of what you do.

@@RedAlchemist Then why didn't they keep the Karma system? I've never heard a single soul complain about the removal of it. As a matter of fact I believe removing the karma requirement for companions is one of the most downloaded mods on nexus. They could have made it part of the role playing but it simply isn't. Your karma is no less intuitive than your average fable decision. Did I steal? Steal=Bad. Did I give water to homeless man? Give water=good. A 5 year old wouldn't find nuance in those choices.
In almost every playthrough of Fallout 3, Sticky inexplicably dies halfway to Big Town. It’s weird, as soon as I turn around he’s dead. Sometimes he gets cut to pieces and other times he gets exploded by a stray landmine. It’s probably a bug, surely we’re meant to take him to Big Town and listen to him talk all the way there. Listen to his stories, jokes, and constant whining, right? RIGHT?!!!

Yes he went for the temporary companions. I love grabbing them and making saves to do little missions so if they kill over I still always have them. They might not be the greatest normally but they make the game great. And now I figure out I can grab all the companions as well oh boy.
Here's an idea for a run, can you beat fallout nv dead money while being chased by Victor. Victor is another one of the characters that can follow you around the Mojave and I have seen him actually follow players into the Sierra Madre. You're obviously not going to be able to do a challenge like this for the main quests due to him spawning immediately on the strip and I don't know if he'll be able to follow you into other dlc areas. Still I like to see how this sort of thing could work. There are two ways to get him to follow you that I know of
1. He will follow you if you enter the area with casadors north of good springs
2. He will follow you after meeting Jessup in Boulder city, this one I know works since he followed me into fiend territory and set off every he could in the area
You forgot Sydney can be a temporary companion that can be permanent if you side with her to make a fake declaration of independence. You can also get her unique 10mm smg multiple times with a dialogue loop.

Day 2 of asking: Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas by only reverse pickpocketing explosives?
Some ideas, to spice things up. Not required by any stretch should you attempt this:
1. Only Frag Grenades, Frag Mines, and any form of dynamite, to limit your arsenal
2. Do Elder McNamera's quests to join the Brotherhood, because suffering builds character
3. A successful pocket explosion from stealth means no reputation loss, so try to have maximum reputation with as many factions as possible/you want
4. You are allowed perks and skills like Robotics expert and speech to shut down robots or talk down an opponent. With the shutting down robots, you aren't killing them, just disabling their AI and ripping their soul from the still "living" body.
Have fun with this, I did this run myself so I know it's possible, even managed to get the Arcade Gannon power armor for fun so I had over 50 DT and could laugh at almost everyone in the game as they tried to hurt me.

Can you beat Tale of Two Wastelands (mod that lets you play both fallout 3 and New Vegas at the same time) As a group? To make it interesting, add the JIP Companions mod and add permadeath
EDIT: Be extra so there's no shortage of companions, since JIP lets you forcibly recruit people, you are allowed to recruit a temporary companion after you've done the quest that they are a companion for. This means the kids from Big Town, even your dad If you revive him (cause I think you can have him as a temporary follower if you go with him to Rivet City, I don't remember)
At that point he's not beating it as a group, he's beating it as a horde

also, challenge Idea, can you beat fallout 4 with only the thirst zapper? to preface, the default thirst zapper without any upgrades or mods does no damage, however, should you find the project cobalt schematics in the World of Refreshment, you can make weaponized nuka ammo. the ammo you want to beat the game with is your choice entirely, they modification ammo does a surprising amount of damage. to pass overboss colter you'd be allowed to use a weapon of choice. though that's just an idea.

However, you need to return power to Nuka World first to access the elevator that leads down into the area where the schematics are found.
I love these kinda runs because they showed me something that I didn't know previously about the game.
Heck yeah! I always set aside an hour on Fridays, specifically for this.
As an aside, kinda saw the outcome a mile away. Guess I was hanging out with Fawkes. All jokes aside, Dogmeat is enough to beat the game, so adding some additional gunfire in there makes it easier. Though it is also more entertaining watching a small army of followers wreck people's faces.
One way I've always been able to get Jericho and Clover was by firing Jericho and then hiring Clover and then running up to Jericho to recruit him before Clover can speak to you.
When I played fallout 3, I honestly thought you could just have 3 companions. I had dogmeat, someone else, and accidentally did the Cross glitch

That "Riverton" part killed me bro lmao
I think the reason why this happened with fawkes is because when you told him to get the geck maybe having so many companions at that moment freaked out his ai and maybe though he was apart of your group already, so when you get abducted and all of them get dismissed because he technicaly never was apart of it he got dismissed again which maybe put him into a state of lock as he is trying to be dismissed (and go to underworld where he is already) and be hired but he wants to be dismissed first which for whatever reason his ai is not marking as completed. A suggested work is Clear out the vault dismiss everyone yourself then ask for his help to getting the geck (if thats posible I forget if any doors lock behind you to force you to getting it) or make sure you have the karma to recruit him instantly outside of raven rock
If neither of those work then perhaps some usage of load warping can be used to wither skip the part of the quest or break free to force events, the biggest thing that shows that fawkes wasent correctly dismissed to me is he followed you into the credits room which means he was still marked as a companion at games end (when it's supposed to be cleared so followers don't talk over the credits)

moriartys terminal is a super quick way to lower karma. just keep spamming the use button while the animation for the terminal opening plays and it counts all the spamming as hacking so you get heaps of bad karma

I remember doing this sort of challenge back when I was a kid, but I didn't use this glitch, there was just a specific order you can recruit all the companions in that allows you to recruit them all. I had it written down on a piece of paper the friend who told me about it gave me.

Top tip: not sure if it still works but when you start waiting, if you open the 360 guide as soon as hit A to start the timer. It makes the waiting timer go down much faster.

I don't know if it works for Fallout 3, but I remember for Skyrim on Xbox you could speed up the wait time by pressing the Xbox button to bring up the menu over top of the game. It's not instantaneous, but it seems to go much faster.
Fawkes pulling you out if the end of the game then crashing it was kinda creepy ngl
There was another glitch I remember using with Fawkes. When you escape Raven Rock, if you fast travel out before he comes up to talk to you, get your other followers back and then fast travel back, then he'll join you regardless of who you already have. (assuming you have the karma requirements)

Hey nerbit theres an easy way to get 1000 caps straight out of the vault first you go to sliver do the speech check get 400 caps then kill her for 100 caps then help walter with the pipes in megaton for 200 caps then break into to the safe in the brass lantern for 300
