I started to set up camp in a park near Scott City once. As I started to spread my ground sheet two large tarantulas slowly strolled across the spot I’d chosen.
You rode through the part of the state I know so very well. I lived in far western Kansas for several years, and am very familiar with all of the towns you visited. The flatness will soon stop, but it still won't be anything like your experiences in mountains. Glad the residents were great - it's one thing we are noted for!
I think I saw Ash and Becky in Hesston KS pulling into the city park on september 6th. I was riding from from Newton and back. I almost stopped to chat. I found your channel today and realized that they were the cyclist I saw. Hopefully they caught up with you.
Same! I was there when Dave opened it, and my kid raced on the RCB team. I moved away in 2023, and have yet to find as shop even half as good. I miss it!!!
How often do you get sloppy and accidentally ride a bit off the pavement onto the shoulder? Great series so far. Been watching, and am now driving from Oregon myself and will be passing you up tomorrow. Western SD tonight.
I had those bags, they're awesome
I rode from Southern California to St Joseph, MO. Thru KS, from West of Johnson City to East of Pittsburg. I can irrevocably say, "Kansas ain't flat!"
Another great video, looking forward to the next. Happy biking!!!

Loved catching up on your trip! Great video and impressive dedication to getting cool shots. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks! glad you dig it. Looking forward to seeing your CT project when it’s out!
Great stuff! I really enjoy your approach to riding and how you document it. Cheers!
Thanks, Dan!
So good. ❤
Toto, we're still in Kansas, aren't we? Thanks for taking us all along on your adventure. Nicely done!
Touring bikes rotating on a pace line. lol. Awesome. Great series.

I am planning to do Colorado Springs to Wichita next summer, so I've been looking forward to this episode. Great series!
Very fun - thanks! Enjoy your tour next summer.
Just heard about your amazing bicycle adventure that you are on! I’m enjoying hearing about it through your video posts.
Hey - long time no se! Glad to hear your are enjoying & thanks for watching.
The great truths of bicycle touring: 1) we will hit headwinds no matter our direction of travel, 2) there is always one more hill ahead 😉
Some wise sage has said a headwind is just a tailwind, but in your face 😈😅
I took time to watch your video, finnaly. I am in Zion.
Very nice! Looking forward to continuing to follow your journey. All the best, friend!
Truth: it's always uphill

Was that a River City waterbottle I saw? Best bike shop ever!
Indeed! I take it for granted that I have that spot as my neighborhood bike shop. You clearly also have excellent taste in bike shops.

Thanks! So far, not too often. Road tires do very poorly on that gravel so I try to stay out of it.

To be really representative of diversity, there would be corn on one side and soy beans on the other. 😊
Hope you are doing ok. Haven't seen a video so maybe Kansas was your breaking point? LOL
