Thanks so much for the video. I had this problem very intermittently and this made the fix so easy. Id enviaaged having to take apart a lot more so kept putting it off.
I know from my own experience that if a problem arises, the repair should not be postponed. Then it happens that the repair is more demanding. In this case, it could happen that the shaft motor breaks down.
Thanks for your post! With cleaning and lubrication the magnet is now moving smoothly as at the beginning! I only removed the four screws from the small cover having a good access and enough space to proceed with your steps, thank you very much!
Many thanks for the information, I was able to repair my home trainer. This is very poor quality grease, with good grease this should never happen. Thanks again
Hi! This was the video that i need! I contact elite and they told me that i burn the motherboard card, they send me 2 motherboard cards in differents months and the resistence it's still high, but restarting a few times, sometimes was normal or anothers too low. But the last week it's worst, it's always high. Elite doesn't give me any answer, only that it is my fault. And looking for some answers, i find this video: it's the same sound, tomorrow we're gonna try this. But i don't know nothing about mechanical/electronical issues, i'm worried about can be something more, and i don't have the capacity to fix it... Thanks for the video! I hope with this i can solve it🎉
Very good fix thanks, mine was dry and full of fluff, all direto owners need to check there's, if there 2 years old or more. My resistance was quite hard, break was on would not free.
Thank you for making this video. Strange question maybe but my father doesn't own a smart phone or any devices that can download/use apps. Is there a way to adjust the resistance without using E-training app?
This is a smart trainer. Its resistance during training is always controlled by an application. Phone, tablet, computer. There is no button to change the resistance. I assume that if your father uses this trainer, he has it paired with some device. Let him try it in that facility.
I have a question which you may be able to answer for me....is it safe to use the Direto for long periods without plugged to the electricity? I lnow without power it wont put any resistance.

Hi. My XTR has began making a horrible clacking and grinding noise - I sent ticket to Elite. I opened up to see if anything loose - nothing, But i have seen that burrs have formed on the magnets and there is a ring of wear to the flywheel. Is this a more severe condition of yours?
Hello- my Direto XR stays at a high resistance no matter what setting I use. The magnet doesn’t move at all when I perform the 1-16 resistance test. Just stays at highest setting. Will cleaning and lubricating the screw solve this issue?
Never mind- performed the cleaning and lubrication and now the magnet is moving smoothly! Thanks for posting!!! Note: I only removed the 4 screws from the cover directly above the power board- didn’t remove anything else. I was able to clean and lube from this access.
If I understand correctly, you did it and it helped you. Yes, you only need to unscrew 4 screws. I took off the whole cover because I was looking for a mistake.
Hi, I have been using the trainer intensively (200 hours/year) for about 3 years. Apart from the glitches I have in the videos, which I knew how to fix myself, it works reliably. The chain makes the most noise during use.
Hi, you can find it in the Trainings / Level mode section. The resistance varies from 1 to 16, I don't know the percentages. Logically, there should be 50% resistance on the 8th stage
@@stanislavpjatak I find that i can be doing efforts and i get cadence gradually to 45rpm (200w) and can barely turn the cassette i need to confirm it at 50%(8)
Hola buenos dias muchas gracias por el vídeo, voy a intentar repar mi rodillo, me puede decir cómo se llama ese tipo de grasa roja para poder comprarla
If it's a problem of an unlubricated spiral, then yes. You can tell if this is the case by the sound it makes when the resistance changes. If it makes similar sounds as in the video, then follow the procedure in the video.
@@stanislavpjatak cannot get the phone to controal the trainer resistance from the level menu like you do,BLE light is not constant, slowly flashing only.
@@johnnyboy4711 You probably don't have your trainer paired with the app. First, pair the application with the trainer in the settings. The LED should light up after connection, not flash.
I followed your procedure. Yes it was dirty. I cleaned it proper. I lubricated it nicely. Unfortunately fro my device it seems to be getting stuck coming back (ie when going from high resistance to low) about half way back it seems to get stuck. If I help it w little with a nudge (using for example a screw drivers) it seems to be working fine. I am stuck on what to do. Any ideas?
Lubricate it. After it gets stuck, help it, let it go along the entire screw box several times. The grease should get evenly everywhere. It should help.
@@stanislavpjatak i lubricated it. Ran it many Times up and down. No success. I logged a ticket with Elite. The step motor runs rather harshly. :-(. Thank you for great video and your answer to my question.
@@perfektcom Hmm. Maybe the guide rails are rubbed and the cart with the magnets goes sideways, maybe the motor, maybe the threads... I don't know. Let me know how it went.
@@stanislavpjatak the fix was to replace the motherboard. I believe, no I am certain, that the motherboard had a design fault. The only difference between the original (faulty) motherboard was a new capacitor. It makes sense that the old capacitor was not strong enough to give enough power to the stepper motor. And should this be the case the factory should replace it as a "Service recall" and not get the users (who ran out of warranty) to pay for the replacement. 90 Euro for the motherboard plus shipping. If you read all the forums the first thing that the support service person does is to send a new board and then they suggest to clean AND lubricate the screw shaft. Vary poor on their behalf.

Good fix, I had to do mine again! Used ptfe grease..don't! It drys out too quick I've used copper slip this time.

I don't have a recommendation. I used what I found at home, but after a year I had to lubricate again.

Hi, what was the grease you used. I have the same problem but the motor doesn't move the spindle at all. I have cleaned and greased but no movement
That will be a different problem. One guy had to change the motherboard. Read the comments on the video.
I have a question which you may be able to answer for me....is it safe to use the Direto for long periods without plugged to the electricity? I lnow without power it wont put any resistance.
I think nothing will happen. Disc braking is by means of magnets. If it isn't plugged in, it won't resist and nothing should happen.
Did you have to pay for the E-Training app ? It says free but I click on it and it wants a monthly subscription.
I didn't have to pay. Freeware has limited functionality sufficient for the needs shown in the video.

Explain to me why you completely remove the housing for this. There is no need to do this.
Because I didn't know what the error was, I looked for the error. Now that I know what needs to be done, I don't take off the entire cover.
