Useful video, saved me buying a new belt and tension pulley. Same issue as you, JB-weld fix didn't work (and now there's no way that pulley is coming off). Out of warranty and Elite are only offering me a return to Italy at my own cost to "investigate" so I guess I'll probably write it off. Have done 14,000km on it to be fair.
UPDATE: Elite arranged a replacement unit with my LBS. The issue with mine was a bad bearing on the power meter axle. I do feel it's design issue. Bearings should easily last way beyond 5,000km of use. I Hope this one goes the distance. Good luck
Hi, Thanks for the vid. I have a different issue in that the variable resistance motor doesn't turn the spindle with the magnets attached. To investigate further I need to take the fly weight off. Have you done that before, or can tell me where I can find instructions?
You don't need to take the flywheel off. It's a common problem resolved by cleaning/de-greasing the thread brass rod and then re greasing. If that doesn't work check that the magnets on the tray is not rubbing. good luck
@badger0888 did that in the end. I had to replace the control card as that had burned out when the system had seized up. Works a treat now! Thanks for the reply tho.
I have same bearing wear issue, and Elite offers full cost repair sending it to Italy. used 10,000km, They try hard to say problem is loose pulley and ask if i can glue it, but problem is sure bearings. Pulley wasnt loose at all and it tsits very tight and solid. Near bearing was brown greasy stuff and they try to prove its not grease, its only corrosion, BS, its grease from inside bearings. some shitty quality bearings and poor design. maybe different manufacturer next. I try inject some grease between bearing housing and dust cover, but it will be maybe only buying some time.
Hey super random, but I came across your video from 8 years ago about your PGP paintball marker. I thought it was worth asking if you still had it and were interested in selling. Thanks!
If you have this machine you will know it is a delicate process requiring special pulls and presses. I suppose a well equipped machine shop can do it with out destroying the fins which is essential for the function of the power meter. Other than the factory, I don't know anyone who has done this successfully.

14K km is still very short life span. Imagine if the wheel bearings crap out on you car less than a year?

any news about noise and how it was resolved?

did the noise got quieter after you did that?
From the noise, I believe it's the flywheel rubbing against the flywheel housing.
No. It is not. The entire housing is removed and the sound is directly from the bearings

Sorry. It Sold to another Canuck
I don’t understand you have it all apart and you don’t change the bearing that’s the number one cause of play and creaking just saying
