I actually made the same mistake when I first went to Xing Fu Tang.
I was so mad cuz I was like this just taste like milk and then I saw the menu which actually states that lol
Xing Fu Tang are basically known for their milk boba because all their boba are handmade in their stores and cooked fresh daily hence why it’s soft and pretty sweet. I personally like the fact that’s it’s freshly made.
The Alley have the best variety of bubble tea flavours to choose from but their boba is package boba that they slow cook in brown sugar.

Xing Fu Tang is also the most expensive bubble tea here in Indonesia 😂 but the milk is good and thick so fair enough

Okay so after doing a little digging it seems in London it typically costs like 3.30 for bubble tea. Which is dirt cheap in the US. In all fairness the problem is that people are forgeting the relativity here. Londoners would think bubble tea is extremely expensive in the US and vise versa. I live on the East Coast and a single cup of bubble tea is typically $10 - 20 without tax for some more context. And $10 tea is usually a tiny cup and not that good. I still think it's absolutely ridiculous to call that expensive but relatively speaking it's slightly more pricey than the normal cups but still isn't that bad.

This is such a good price tbh. Two people MADE this for you. I ordered $15 chips from a 5 star hotel bar and it tasted like it was from Costco and it was not even warm.

Theyres a few of the exact same bubble tea stores where I live! They’re considered super expensive because even for having a similar price to other milk teas, it’s in a much smaller size

For those of y’all who think that it’s weird that the rose was pushed in
Roses are edible and they are used in teas drinks desserts and companies make rose syrup with it aswell

Xing Fu Tang is like super popular in Hong Kong, it’s made using legit ingredients. The staple drink is the brown sugar milk, all the other ones are kinda ok but not as worth it as the brown sugar one. The gold foil and the rose are a bit excessive, but it’s definitely worth the money.

Xing Fu Tang is actually quite famous here in HK and also in Taiwan too, you can see a massive amount of people crowd at the entrance of the shop just to buy bubble tea in Taiwan, so it’s honestly understandable about why it’s so expensive
