as someone who has never eaten a hot cross bun i am overly invested in this and would love a follow up video with tesco and asda. i hate raisins and sultanas but i’m thinking i should really try some chocolatey ones they look really good 💜
Literally sitting here eating toasted and buttered choccy hot cross buns with a giant cup of coffee while I'm watching this. Love a good hot cross bun! Thanks for putting in all the hard work for us Grace
Ahh this makes me miss British supermarkets so much! I would love to know how you deal with the leftovers of your taste tests... Do you give them to family and friends, freeze them? (I'm too curious hahaha) Maybe a behind the scenes kind of video? 🤔😂
Nooo, they were so disappointing. They’re hard as a brick and lack any flavour, i literally travelled 30 min to my nearest Aldi and was so disappointed :(
Happy Easter to you and your family, Grace! So glad you did the hot x buns video. Wondering if you'll ever do another London bakery hopping video any time soon? Absolutely love your previous ones! :)
Not grace thinking of co op and Morrisons over Sainsbury’s Asda and Aldi 😂 so rogue 😂 Asda hot cross buns are elite- their standard ones all year round are nicer and softer than anyyyyy others!! From someone that’s had hot cross buns every day for a solid 6 months lmao xxx
I like the vegan chocolate hot cross buns which are usually more expensive than normal ones but I find this is the case with gluten or non milk product's, I have to pay more for having allergies
Graceee I've just watched Cez & Gaz do Too ood to go bags BUT grocery/supermarket bags. I'd love to see you do something similar but over a week getting a too good to go bag from different supermarkets / food halls and making lunch or dinner with the contents (then comparing the too good to go bags at the end of the week / couple of days) ❤
I literally sat down to eat my Good friday hot cross buns for breakfast with a cup of English tea before going to church and Grace is doing a hot cross bun run down. Made me wonder what she thought of the supermarket classic ones we bought here in NZ
I love the Woolworths/countdown ones. My local ones are the best, they are super soft this year. I went to the city and got some from that countdown and they weren't the same. But still
I found your channel for the first time a few years ago while I was studying abroad in Scotland and saw one of your Easter foods videos 🥹 Here we are years later
Before I even get started watching I’m voting M&S…! That’s my fave, the caramel one followed by chocolate 😍 Edited to add I have a morning job at Sainsburys and personally I think theirs are rubbish!
We go camping every easter so the best hot cross bun is a traditional bun toasted over an open fire with cold salted butter and a hot mug of earl gray tea.
M&s chocolate ones are amazing, Tesco do some really good chocolate ones too. I don't toast them. I tried the lemon ones and sticky toffee pudding ones from sainsburys and they weren't great.
Grace, when I was in Texas last year there was a black bird called a Grackle. Not sure if your channel is named after it?? Just been out and bought Richly Fruited and St Clement hot cross buns 😊 thanks for another great video 😊😊😊
Now waaaaaait a second! People eat hot cross buns … cold!? Like… not toasted with butter ???? My whole life has been a lie! I can’t cope with the thought of them cold 😳😳😳 But what I super can’t cope with is… being a New Zealander… moving to America a year ago… my American wife not knowing that hot cross buns exist outside of the song… and not being able to get them here in the states 😭 Okay… rant over lol. Lots of love Grace! Long time watcher… but never actually really commented until lately! Congrats to Chloe and your family by the way on her new baby! 🥰🥰🥰
I was born and raised in New York and have eaten hot cross buns for 60+ years. I have never seen or heard of all these variations. I've only seen ones with citron and raisins. Now I feel cheated!
I heard about hot cross buns for the first time this morning... I was genuinely so lost when I kept seeing them all over my fyp and THEN in your video until I finally looked it up on Google and saw it's something you eat on good friday (id never heard of that either) AND good friday's tomorrow...... it all makes sense now (i just thought everyone was in sync/my phone's algorithm was insanely good)
Enjoyed your video so much I had to go to M&S and try the chocolate hot cross buns. Even better that they were reduced in price. It was soooo yummy & nice. Got the Bramley apple ones too. Nice but chocolate was better 😋😋
I can't stop thinking about Grace's partner getting home from work to find Grace surrounded by 140 hot cross buns 😂 "I just couldn't decide!!"
as someone who has never eaten a hot cross bun i am overly invested in this and would love a follow up video with tesco and asda. i hate raisins and sultanas but i’m thinking i should really try some chocolatey ones they look really good 💜
Aldi and Lidl always do great ones too! Definitely need a part 2 :D
"high high hopes for these hot cross buns" had me cackling!!! love your videos
Literally sitting here eating toasted and buttered choccy hot cross buns with a giant cup of coffee while I'm watching this. Love a good hot cross bun! Thanks for putting in all the hard work for us Grace
M&S bramley apple hot cross buns are divine
The Caramel M&S ones are amazing. But the nukoto chocolate ones from aldi!!! Amazing
Ahh this makes me miss British supermarkets so much! I would love to know how you deal with the leftovers of your taste tests... Do you give them to family and friends, freeze them? (I'm too curious hahaha) Maybe a behind the scenes kind of video? 🤔😂
He is Risen, love your videos Grace, all the best!
Would love to see a part 2! And you need to try the marmite hot cross buns from M&S! Also many compare them to a home made hot cross bun as well? ❤️
They don’t have the marmite ones this year 😢
My favourite are the Aldi caramelised biscuit hot cross buns 😍😍 amazing. They also do different flavours too like jaffa and Nutella.

Waitrose lemon and white chocolate are by far the best especially when toasted and you put butter on!
Sainsbury’s do the same flavour and it’s pretty good too!
I was just about to comment this, theyre by far my favourite
@@cheznay I have tried the Sainsbury’s ones however I think they put less chocolate in! So of course I prefer the Waitrose ones!😂😂😂
I don’t even like them but love the look of them.
😂😭
I like the vegan chocolate hot cross buns which are usually more expensive than normal ones but I find this is the case with gluten or non milk product's, I have to pay more for having allergies
Crikey thats commitment to the hot cross bun cause🌟
sometimes I wish had a TH-cam channel to do videos exactly like this!!
This is my jam… I’m absolutely here for this!!!
Graceee I've just watched Cez & Gaz do Too ood to go bags BUT grocery/supermarket bags. YES YES to part 2 please!!!
You're also yet to try Aldi grace! They've got some new fancy options out, banoffee is calling my name 😊🏵️
If you do a part 2, pleassseeee include aldi and lidl!!!
I love hot cross buns but don’t think I could have tasted so many..😄well done Grace …off to buy M & S chocolate HC buns😋😋happy Easter
I think my favorite is the Sainsburys mixed berry hot cross bun. We also like the M&S chocolate and the blue berry ones.
You’ve gotta go to Tesco they have salted caramel and chocolate hot cross buns!!
They normally take out all the spices though, so you end up with fairly bland bread...
I am jealous of all the variety of hot cross buns you have. Here in Canada we have just the normal ones with raisins and a bit of icing.
Happy Easter.
What the fork I thought hot cross buns was Britain’s only
Love this video! Just imagining Grace driving all the way to the Orpington morrisons just to buy a bunch of hot cross buns 😂
The Sainsbury’s chocolate and salted caramel hot cross buns are next level elite
But still
Ive been so obsessed with the waitrose white chocolate and lemon ones for years i havent tried any other! I'll have to branch out next year
Finally someone agrees they are the best! 😂😁😋🤤:)
What the heck you get lemon ones!??
I pretty much love any video that Grace puts out. They seriously make my day!!
The tesco strawberry and clotted cream buns are amazing!!
In Australia they have so many savoury (and more sweet) hot cross buns - you would love trying them all! (Vegemite, shapes, fairy bred, biscoff)
I've been trying for weeks to get the biscoff ones but they're always sold out 😢
Can I just say I think this has been one of the most entertaining and funniest videos you have made! The word “wakadoodle” 😂 👏🏻 amazing! 😂 xx
i'm such a hot cross bun snob and they HAVE to have raisins and cinnamon/orange rind but this was fun to watch😂
I found your channel for the first time a few years ago while I was studying abroad in Scotland and saw one of your Easter foods videos 🥹 Here we are years later

we need to see aldi and lidl in part 2 too!
Does anyone else remember the M&S chilli and cheese hot cross buns? I was OBSESSED. Petition for these to be brought back
“Sodsville Arizona” had me howling as not being American my first thought on Arizona is DESERT… 🌵😂😂😂
‘The cross is lacking, not in real life but on this bun’ I feel like you’ve just created a Christian in joke Grace and I love it 🤣
omg I first heard 'blueberry an MELON' instead of lemon🤣 that would have been an awful combo lol
we need a part 2!! (do apologise in advance...you won't be needing any more hot cross buns for a while) x
M&s chocolate ones are amazing, Tesco do some really good chocolate ones too. I don't toast them. I tried the lemon ones and sticky toffee pudding ones from sainsburys and they weren't great.
Yummmmmm, I would need to toast them all with butter to know what I really think. Heat changes flavours
I like my mum's homemade ones the best - not found better in the last 40+ years :D
They need to be toasted otherwise it’s not fair, who eats hot cross buns not toasted? 😭 😂
Sunday school is going to be happy with all of the left over buns.
M&S apple and also the Marmite… 💯 Happy Easter! 🐣
I've learned something new today -- I looked on Wikipedia and learned what a hot cross bun is. I've never seen one before.
Grace, when I was in Texas last year there was a black bird called a Grackle. Not sure if your channel is named after it?? Just been out and bought Richly Fruited and St Clement hot cross buns 😊 thanks for another great video 😊😊😊
happy good friday grace! Hope u have a great resurrection sunday!!
I feel like the cheesy ones might be better if toasted as it would melt the cheese a bit.
They are indeed, the cheese flavour intensifies. Lovely!
Sainsbury's do a sticky toffee hot cross bun I could not BELIEVE how good it was. I am still thinking about it 3 weeks later.
I ever heard of hot cross bun but very interesting loook good
Now waaaaaait a second!

Lots of love Grace! Long time watcher… but never actually really commented until lately!
Congrats to Chloe and your family by the way on her new baby! 🥰🥰🥰
I grew up having hot cross bun cheese sandwiches, not toasted, just chuck a slab of cheddar in a fruity bun. Delicious 😋
I've been buying the M&S bramley apple ones all season and I feel so validated rn
Oooo Grackle! Is it just me or yous painted?
I love it !!! 😍☺️
I was born and raised in New York and have eaten hot cross buns for 60+ years. I have never seen or heard of all these variations. I've only seen ones with citron and raisins. Now I feel cheated!
does anybody know what grace do with all the food after testing ?😂
I was in the UK last week and tried to blueberry and lemon hot cross bun from Coop.
It was good but could've been a bit more lemony in my taste
Long time watcher, first time commenter...love your videos! I'm intrigued...what do you do with the remaining food?
Papa booth should have Been with you grace 😊
I heard about hot cross buns for the first time this morning... I was genuinely so lost when I kept seeing them all over my fyp and THEN in your video until I finally looked it up on Google and saw it's something you eat on good friday (id never heard of that either) AND good friday's tomorrow...... it all makes sense now (i just thought everyone was in sync/my phone's algorithm was insanely good)
They've been on sale since January where I live. Not complaining though 😅
imagine a sea salt-maple/honey hot cross bun😍
You have to try the Aldi white chocolate and raspberry ones! They're pretty and pink too. They also do jaffa, biscoff and nutella😋
Wow! 🤩
What the heck did you do with all those buns (the ones you didn’t bite obviously!!) lol 😆 great video xx
You forgot Aldi Lidl Asda and Sainsbury’s and Tesco
Can you review the Waitrose 4 cherry Bakewell tarts?
Enjoyed your video so much I had to go to M&S and try the chocolate hot cross buns. Even better that they were reduced in price. It was soooo yummy & nice. Got the Bramley apple ones too. Nice but chocolate was better 😋😋
Tesco's do Finest Extra fruity, St Clements, apple/cinamon AND chocolate ones! 😮 You/we missed out there! 😊
Im making hcb croutons and eating them with tiramisu
If I’m not mistaken, the M&S apple hot cross buns are dairy free, I ate so many of those !
What commitment to this video 😂
Aldi had Jaffa buns , Nutella and biscoff
Happy Easter to you and yours and yours and yours.....😊
it’s so sad you didn’t find the tesco ones, they have chocolate chip caramel ones 😭
Controversial opinion: I've always preferred my hot cross buns untoasted 🤯 with butter though
m&s never flops
I really enjoyed the sainsburys sticky toffee hcbs!
Is it just me or did you miss five supermarkets? 🤣Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco, Lidl and Aldi...
Dude that would have brought the number to 250 hot cross buns 😂
Tesco did a strawberry and clotted cream flavour this year which was yummy
Wt did u do with the leftover
I always wonder how you eat all of the left overs 😂😂
Finally realised that the best way to eat one is straight from the packet, moist, doughy and fruity. Tesco’s ones tasted pretty good.
Haven't finished watching but I'm betting M&S extremely chocolatey is somewhere up there....
i didn't know Not toasting them was an option lol ive always toasted and added butter
Happy Easter 🐣🐇 Grace & Family, and everyone who’s watching the vlog.
💖🌷
The thumbnail is great work
Lidl!! We have brioche ones too 👀👀
What did you do with the hot cross buns that were left?
Tried the Sains Taste the Difference brown sugar and cinnamon HCB - didn’t rate it tbh but would love to hear your thoughts!
asda savoury ones slap with some cheese and chilli jam
M&S marmite and cheese are apparently amazing according to my kids
Thank you much love xx
I need a hot beverage with one let alone a gang of hot Cross buns
The sainsburys brown sugar or sticky toffee!!
Ur missing out not trying the aldi luxury hot cross buns!!
