Great boats. I have a 2004 455 Polycraft. There is surface rust on my stainless steel rails which I thought was not possible. Perhaps with the newer models they use a better quality stainless steel.
Absolutely, would have to be a nice day but it would have not much issue doing the trip. The hull is primarily suited to estuaries and inshore fishing. If you wanted to check this boat out you are more than welcome to come say hi at Boatcity and I could show you around it for inspiration
@brenzfishing hey mate was in today signing up the tuffy, spoke to the Mrs now I believe we will be cancelling that and going the smokey grey 410 challenger after I showed her your videos and now she wants to come out with the kids as well 😂 so will come and see Anthony tomorrow with her and has a geez at the 410 🥳 I get the bigger boat hopefully
Was the 40hp not big enough? I have a 2005 4.1 with a 2 stroke on that I wanted to repower with the 40hp yamaha. I found that I'm very rarely using more than 1/2-2/3 throttle on my boat as you can only go flat out when it's dead flat. Top speed is not really a factor for me I just want acceleration/ hole shot
We where loading the boat with the equivalent of 4 blokes, plus all camera gear, drones, fishing gear, 40lt of fuel, deep cycle batteries and heaps more quite often. The 40 was great for This but we always wondered what the 50 would do, after trying the 30 I firmly believe the 40 is the best fit for the job.
Can’t go wrong with buying a polycraft such an awsome boats
Thankyou very much for the comment mate. Always appreciate good feedback
Thanks for the Video, we are looking at buying one and wanted to see how stable they are 👍
They are certainly a very stable boat
In my experience treating polyethylene with a heat gun prior to applying paint or decals ensures a very durable adhesion
100% agree, should we have done this more thoroughly I believe the adhesion would have been much more successful
Thanks for all the handy info and thoughts on what worked or not.

Apparently, you use a hair dryer to warm the plastic before you put the rego stickers etc on to make them last
Yeah, we did everything by code, I’d just say shit quality vinyl
How is the watersnake going now?
Its actually still going strong and now on my new boat
Good update on Poly, whats happening with the other boat you bought, with all the headaches. No updates on that one
Oh that boat, I try to avoid that boat at the moment, new trailer getting built for her tho but yea, a major head ache

20 years old is not a bad innings for a boats stainless to be fair. It will be interesting to see the pink one in 20 years
Could ya get this to rotto from freo on a nice day ? My plan is a few day trips with the kids over there for some reef fishing through the year
