I wouldn’t personally touch the 4.8. One of the best flat water boats but any chop and she is one of the worst. I bought the 4.8 after this boat and got rid of it after a year and went to the 5.3 warrior centre console and it’s the best boat I’ve had. If your based in Brisbane you can pop in and have a look
@@johnnyrotton89 hey thanks for that. I’m in Cairns, so I won’t be able to check out the boat, but this really helps. Can I ask, do you have an electric up front, and if so, does a 80lb do the job. Thanks again
@@bastieniezzi6539 yeah mate i have an 80Lbs 24vold Minkota and i think i went the 60 or 70 inch shaft. thats a must have. i might have to make a video of my poly and upload it. fell free to email me and i can post a heap of vids and pics. johnhans@live.com.au
I bought this 4.8 soon after this trip. It’s an amazing boat mate. So much more stable. Which is hard to believe and try and get one with a 90hp. I had the merc big foot 90 and it was incredible. A bit more slappy in the chop as they’re a flatter bottom but such an incredible rig.
Great vedeo..👍👍👍👍👍 But please as you are experienced in boating which is better in choppy and bad seas the 4.50 or 4.80? In fact you can say i have a great boat only when you are offshore and suddenly the waves and wind stand up for the tango!!! At that hard moments you know what you own ,you know if your boat is reliable enough to pull you out . Thank you for informations🙂
@@MeftahChamekh I’ve had both and the 4.5 is much better in the shit stuff. The 480 is amazing stability but just back breaking in the sloppy stuff. I have gone to a 530 warrior now and it’s amazing
@@johnnyrotton89 legend mate, is the 4.55 centre console this excat boat in a yellow colour? Seen a few in white blue and yellow all the same length and centre console. They all the same models just diff colour? All around the 2003-2006 year
@@harrygoodenough this was an 2003 that came with a honda 50hp but i upgraded to the 60 suzuki but if i had mt yime again i would have gone the F70 yamaha. much more reliable motor
What size outboard ya running mate? Also I have the chance on buying a 4.5m Polycraft 2004 hull for a good price, do they last that long or you reckon one that old would have gone brittle in the sun? I’ve heard they’re fairly tough, but do they last 20+ years in the sun?
Hey mate this was a 2003 hull and at this stage I had it upgraded to a Suzuki 60hp originally had a 50 Honda which was rubbish but upgrading it to hold a 60 was easy and and worth every cent.
I think they’re one of the best older boats going this one in the cider was never looked after and hit pretty much everything in the ocean. I’ve owned all but one of there models and I just keep going back to them but just buying bigger models. Currently own a 5.3 warrior with a 150hp Yamaha. Got it new and love it
If I were buying an old one I would just have the motor properly looked at. If they boat looks good and solid it will be. They’re unreal and the 4.55 is one of the better rides.
I had one years ago and went on to buy bigger more expensive boats. I have done the full circle and come back to one of these because they are so good.
Most underrated boat on the market.
Thanks for the video. Considering a 4.8 or 5.3 at the moment.

the 4.8 is a really good boat the only issue i had was extremely wet. I put the Spray Chines on it and it made a huge difference
Thanks for the update mate, tight lines

Handled that chop with ease. I'll be considering one for the Whitsundays. How's beaching go with the polycrafts? Bit heavy to drag?
Not so much the weight in this one but anything larger than the 4.5 and it just sticks to the sand and aint going anywhere.
Does this have spray gaurds on it ??? Just wondering as ive been told they are a wet boat
this didnt at the time. I would Highly Recommend you get them though. They help Massively on the 4.5 & 5.3
impressive
Are they unsinkable? 😆
Haha haven’t been able to sink one yet. God knows I’ve tried. But I had a mate that lost one once the waves and sand got over the back of one.

Hey I just bought a 4.55 poly centre console found it abit unstable when 2 people are on the same side you experience the same
yeah in the rough it will be but comparing it to anything else the same size. i think most boats will be
Is this boat self bailing?
no its not but the bilge pump was more than enough to the water out
