How USB charging cables work/ DIY Fast charge USB cable!

I looked forever to try and figure out how to charge my tablet from a computer USB port. No one seemed to have a good description of how the cable/charger/etc. work together to charge your device. In this video we discover how to cheat the USB spec. If one was so inclined they could build a USB cable to make the device think it was hooked up to a high current charger and charge at a substantially greater current. Should you do this? At your own risk. Everything I've charged has worked fine but that's not to say you won't blow up a USB port on your computer if you use one of these cheater cables.
